Early generation Bug types are essentially playing the game on hard mode. Gen 1-3 was a dark place for Bug types. People forget that even Scizor wasn't an offensive powerhouse until Platinum when it got Technician Bullet Punch, and it wasn't until Gen 5 when Bug Pokémon were treated as less of a joke and more as a serious type. They're much better than what they once were, but they're still by far the weakest type in the game, and I'm saying that as someone who has used Mono-Bug since Pokémon Yellow. Also great vid! The drama had me hooked! ❤

Gen 7 helped out bug types a lot with araquanid, golisopod, ribombee, vikavolt, buzzwole, and pheremosa all being great Pokemon as well as buffing leech life a huge amount.

I gotta say, it’s a really nice detail how Arson bugs splash art in the pokeball changes from a trash bag, to illumise during the final battle. Truly signifying how far she’s come, and how she finally FINALLY earned the respect of her trainer. Gods speed Arson bug, you’ve shown us the way.

It's pretty funny that even the strongest bug around - that is, Heracross - is a glorified Fighting type that just so happens to have a 4x weakness to birds.

I'm very glad to see both Nincada and Illumise being able to do work and be key members of a team. That said I dug the animation you did of Wailord since it actually made it look kinda cool, which is not something many people aside from myself think of the mon in my experience.

To everybody asking why he didn't catch a Surskit in the earlier routes. It's because he can't in Emerald. It is only available in Emerald until Newsflash swarms during post-game. In Ruby and Sapphire yes you can catch it.
