Pokemon GO EXPLOIT - Reset Method for 0 or 31 IV Shiny Melmetal in Pokemon Sword or Let's Go Pikachu

First off, let me say that I know that title is incredibly long.... sorry about that. Basically there is a bug where if you take a Pokemon from Pokemon Go into Pokemon Lets Go Pokichu or Eevee you can infinitely reset your game to guarantee that your Pokemon has either Best or No Good (Not So Good) IVs. You may be wondering why this even matters because you can hypertrain IVs up to 31 aka Best. While that is true, as of Pokemon Sword and Shield the Crown tundra there is STILL NO WAY to minimize an IV or turn it into zero or No Good. This can be a huge issue for awesome Trick Room Pokemon like shiny Melmetal who want to have zero speed and it's also great for things like Shiny Mewtwo and Shiny Mew (which can only be caught in Pokemon Go anyway) who want 0 attack IVs to lower the damage they take from things like Foul Play!
Overall, this bug isn't a HUGE issue don't get me wrong. It's more just a point where Nintendo needs to be better a testing their systems to make sure things like this can't happen. Especially since it would be so easy to fix this by just making it so that you can't leave the Go Park without saving. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Wow I made a video on a very similar topic back in August actually, and it's not just the Speed stat that is random, its nature is too! For SwSh, obviously the nature doesn't matter as much, but I wanted a competitive Melmetal in Lets Go and so I had to soft reset for the nature. Oh that's another thing! In this case, it's not an exploit. You are simply soft resetting the encounter! That's standard practise in Pokémon :)

It’s hard not to save when leaving the park I accidentally saved and I have to evolve and other meltan in go :(

You mentioned at the begining that you can use this for the attack stats too, this isn’t true because all stats except speed are determined by the pokemon’s IVs in go, hence why the ivs are always symetrical. This only works for speed since its random

Oh really? But the attack iv still changed between catches. Does is change between a set range? Or just that it has to be equal to special attack?

@@LetsNot hmm, i’m not sure. I just remember hearing this when lets go came out and it seemed to hold true when i transfered stuff. Perhaps it is within a set range as you said. I’d need to do more tests to see. The two melmetal shown in the video have identical attack, hp, special attack, spdef and defence

@@LetsNot Did it change? Attack + Sp. Attack were 'OK' throughout the entire video, and Def + Sp. Def were 'good'. I'm not sure how it works in Let's Go, but if you transfer a Pokemon from GO directly to Home, all the IVs are the same from GO, and Speed is the only one randomized (Special stats are also identical to physical ones, which appears to be the case in Lets Go, so I would assume the other mechanic is the same as well).

This is why they need to introduce some sort of broken bottle cap to allow IVs to be set as 0, similar to hyper training. This would nullify the need for hacking and the need for exploits, while saving so much time for people trying to breed.

@@LetsNot it’s a very common idea, and simple to add. It wouldn’t exactly be game breaking, the only reason why they aren’t (that I can imagine) is that they’re worried kids and new players will accidentally make all their Pokemon have 0 in each stat. They could just allow stats to go between 0 and 31, eliminating this issue.

I think digital assets should have a certificate system and way of verifying where an item is found and what transactions were done on it. This might be a blockchain type of solution to verify your Go, transferred to switch, which transferred to.... etc.

Yeah, but hacking isn’t quite as fun. Plus this channel doesn’t take kindly to hacking, it’s very risky and takes the fun out of the game 9 times out of 10.

@@PansyPops Yes it does, but this game is already done for. The game is all about collecting, and they've allowed people to hack in even the rarest stuff. There is no point in going for it the legit way, because it won't be rare like it should be, and no one will believe your one is legit if you spent the many hours obtaining it. Imagine a game like Destiny 2 allowed players to hack in weapons and armor with whatever desired perks they wanted. The game would be over in a month. No one would do the difficult end game content you'd normally be enticed to do to obtain said loot. No one would spend money, since they can get whatever they want anyway. You just can't have a looter shooter, and allow people to cheat the loot portion. Neither can you have a game built around collecting, and allow people to cheat their collection. "Oh you have a super rare shiny galarian legendary 'x'? Give me a minute, I'll have 3 of em." Is what the Pokemon mentality is...

@@PansyPops I was planning on putting the time in to get a shiny 100% IV swampert, my favority pokemon. However it seems rather pointless. It would take ages, and could be done in minutes, and no one would turn their neck. It wouldn't even be as rare and special as it should be, because anyone could have the same thing in minutes. That's the state of the game: pointless.

@@MHGFTW they don’t allow people to hack, they’re trying to not allow people to hack but they do it anyway. And continuing to do it makes you part of the problem. If you don’t hack your pokemon and actually earn them, that makes them valueable to you. Since you actually put the effort in. If you think the existance of hacking makes the game unfun, then don’t hack or trade/battle with hackers or people who use hacked pokemon. Hacking just makes the problem worse

@@jakequaza3567 Like I said, I don't hack myself. The presence of hacking just makes me not want to play. It feels pointless to grind for what other peoplw got by hacking, without effort, without recourse.
