You’ll still need to finish things off in terms of getting into Viridian City gym after this, but it definitely feels like its part of the final sections in the game. To get into the gym, you’ll need to explore the derelict mansion in the top right hand side of the town. It’s filled with a strange mix of Pokémon, along with Burglars and Scientists to battle. The scientists are particularly tough, so expect a challenge. When you finally make it to the bottom floor and get into the old lab, you’ll find the card key that lets you open the doors to Cinnabar Island gym.
