Everyone here just talkes about Zinnias awesome theme and im just standing here being surprised that Rayauaza was just caught with a standard ass Poke Ball
Its actually fairly easy to do in this game. Since you have to catch Rayquaza to progress they lowered the catch rate (Or raised it I guess would be more apt) so it was much easier to catch.
Youngster Joey: Oh! a trainer ran by! Trainer: Hi Youngster Joey: I challenge you! Trainer: Ok Youngster Joey: Go! Random Pokeball! *Deoxys comes out* Youngster Joey and Trainer: Woah!
The music, the adventure, the ancient pokemon, the legends and power behind them all...Hoenn was badass on so many levels. The Delta Episode solidified it for me too.
I swear Pokemon getting better with their subtleties, with Zinnia's suicidal tendencies (especially with her dialogues throughout delta), all that info in Sea Mauville, and Aster being implied as Zinnia's -dead- daughter among other things. Its an interesting addition to the remakes.
She still looks too young to be a mother to me. Though the game refers to her as "a mysterious young woman" and she refers to that Whismur as her daughter. I dunno, but I feel the same as you about that context.
***** I agree that she looks too young to be a mother, but I just blame the art style for that. Not that I think it's bad; just that it's really good at making ambiguously-aged characters. The protagonists and rivals from each gen look much older than 10, especially in 5th gen, and they, along with the Gym Leaders and Champions, don't seem to look much older after all the timeships between certain games. Steven looks a little younger in these games than he did in the original games imo. Hell, in Platinum, Looker even says Cyrus is only 27, while he looks like he should be in his 40s.
I thought that Aster was meant to be Zinna's mother or father? She seems to have a grandmother but no parent. The subtleties are pretty great though, especially the whole deal with Sea Mauville.
Just a bit of interesting trivia, here. Zinnia is actually named after a type of flower that's admittedly really pretty and colorful. Something else I didn't actually know until I just looked it up is that an aster is also a type of flower, and it's mainly a blue-purple color, kinda like Whismur. And when I actually looked into it, zinnias (the flower) are from a genus commonly called Aster. ...I have way too much time on my hands, I know.
16:17 I don't know what's more epic: People thinking the destruction of the meteorite is the end of the cutscene and then taking in the appearance of Deoxys as a full-on surprise or People who remember the original Deoxys event suddenly recognizing all the cues leading up to the battle
I've watched the reveal of Deoxys so many times and it never fails to give me chills. I wish so bad that they didn't reveal its fight before the game's release. The surprise of battling a previously event-only pokemon would have been incredible. Not to mention the fact that Deoxys is just one of my favorite pokemon.
That battle music against Zinnia was really amazing. I daresay that it's my favorite theme in the entire game. Feels like a mix of Bravely Default and Professor Layton. Great video as always Omega~
+omegaevolution So Omega, which battle in Omega Ruby was your favorite? I like Zinnia's :3 (I swear her theme just serves everything it was meant to do), Wally would be second
This is what I'd see in an actual final boss battle in the Pokémon world. Consecutive battles with no rest in between. Y'know, the trope in RPG's. Pokes is no exception to this rule. :3
Yeah true, I like it when they dump a bit more plot on it. Coming to think of it, Black/white also featured a boss rush of this type. Pokemon's main weakness is being conservative with it's structure and features, but it's always amazing if they go ahead and break some of them.
I like that idea, but not when it involves legendary battles, where catching them without the Master Ball is quite the luck based mission. I like the challenge Colosseum presented in that regard though.
Yeah! It adds such a great surprise at the end, when I was at the part where Deoxsys appeared, I was like T.T Pokemon has satisfied my every need. I can die now. But the triangle zooming around at first was a serious what-the-hell-is-going-on shit.
chan yiyan I looked it up, and that was apparently a reference to the puzzle that had to be solved in order to fight Deoxys back in Emerald version (and that was only after you got the special event ticket to get there).
I wish there was another dedicated storyline for deoxys like it would've been awesome if the triangle debris fell onto hoenn region and it invaded the towns and you save the world by defeating/catching it using rayquaza
While Sinnoh/Hisui is my favorite region, they did a great job on the Hoenn remakes. Impossible to dislike Rayquaza. Mega Rayquaza even moreso. All games where you can Fly, should show you flying like it does with you & Latias (or Latios).
16:05 with this, the world was saved. However through the cheers and celebration, they failed to realize the overwhelming threat brought to life from this event, and soon after, 10-11 year old trainers from across the world were gifted a tool of mass destruction, one so powerful that it was forbidden use in competitive meta. Generation 6 marked the death of Ubers as a banlist, and brought to fruition a new tier, created solely due to Mega Rayquaza's overwhelming power. The Anything Goes Tier was born. The death of an era, and the birth of a new meta. Truly fitting for a generation themed about life and death.
Man, when the Deoxys Triangle showed up and started doing the birth island thing, then the music started was the most “OH SHIT” moment I’ve ever had in a pokemon game. Maybe in ANY game
Zinnia might be up there with Steven & N for my favorite NPC, to be honest. Though I feel that this game left some unanswered questions, like "Who was Aster, really?" Find out on the next episode of "Pokemon Z!"
I think it's not just *some* unanswered questions, but more like Zinnia's whole backstory, though. I mean, the more she talked about it the more mysterious it gets...
Wolf'ate Thanks to the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series, humans becoming Pokémon is more confirmed than the myth about Pokémon becoming humans, though. But I don't think Aster being a human that turned into a Pokémon is enough for Zinnia to be so depressed. She talks about Aster like if it was someone who passed away or completely left her :/
The Deoxys part will forever be the one moment in Pokemon that caught me the most off guard. In a good way. This is still probably the best thing pokemon has ever done, riding Rayquaza into space to fight Deoxys. Oml why cant we have something like this again.
I find it kinda dumb how they force you through *three* battles, without any time to save in between. Though the battle themes alsmot entirely make up for it. :)
StattStatt I was a bit confused that the Zinnia fight was AFTER capturing Rayquaza... I mean if she is gonna test our power, shouldn't she do it before we get the OP Pokemon? xD. But yeah a chance to save before Deoxys at least would of been nice considering a lot of people like to reset for Natures and IVs and such lol.
omegaevolution Only way to SR Rayquaza was to lose the battle with Zinnia. You don't white out but just have to challenge her again. Even then it was too much and I just gave up on it.
15:37 when rayquaza mega evolved mid flight, i got serious goosebumps in my playthrough. idk if it was the badassness of the situation, or the fact that i was wearing headphones at full volume and the music made it 10x better. anyway, it's fucking amazing.
There It Was... a level 80 deoxys stood before me... After all the team building and All the trainers i faced i was preparing for this Moment... And then i threw a Master Ball And Caught It The End!!!!!!
omegaevolution Like you're a 10(?) year old girl riding in a spacesuit ON Mega Rayquaza THROUGH A METEOR (totally safe pls believe me), and then you fight this space monster but what the fuck are you actually standing on? Certainly not the meteor, obviously not Rayquaza cuz you'd see her on its' back, so what the fuck. Not to mention when you throw the Pokeball, what is the ball landing on as it's twitching? :P
So far we can only speculate on Zinnia's reasoning on doing things her way. So far it that she trying to find closer to what has happen to someone important to her, who name is Aster. Kinda makes her a interesting character. Also we now know that Rayquaza is the one that made mega stones and, while still up in the air, Deoxys is a mega pokemon. Both being made from the metor that Rayquaza hit and having the ability to change forms. What do you guys think?
Calling deoxys a mega pokemon might be reading into it too much. Mega evolution requires by definition a key stone with a humans willpower and bond to a pokemon with a megastone (or power from a meteorite in rayquazas case). Deoxys has neither of those.
Also we are not entirely sure that rayquaza made the megastones. Simply that he came from a meteorite which seem to bring about mega evolution and was the first example of being capable of doing so in the entirety of the world's history.
I'm a bit skeptical about that since the laser didn't really leave the atmosphere. It rose up but then went immediately down in both scenarios. The deoxys was found within the giant meteor. I kinda doubt the virus was in the world's proximity, floated away, got inside the asteroid, and passed by to decide to crash into the same world. If the laser did go straight up into space, it would be more plausible.
Oh, I'm not talking about the laser we saw in X/Y. The theory was that it was caused by the firing of the weapon in the past. We don't know what that one looked like, and it could have taken a while to reach and mutate Deoxys. But hey, that's just a theory: a Pokemon theory!
The part where the player and rival's families are talking...this sounds suspiciously like boyfriend/girlfriend or marriage talk....they are still 10 though..
@@thetreyceratops2242 count me in as well. its weird to hear other people always say "but they're, like, 10!" when no protagonist from the games are canonically 10
@@matthewng7893 aren't the x/y protagonists like 15 or something? Or maybe it was in 5th gen, but I remember a game with the protagonists being actual teens
There was a real Koyaanisqatsi vibe from that music. Meanwhile, while I was riding on Rayquaza playing this game, I said, "I'M RIDING ON A _DRAGON_, BITCHES!" Oh shit, that piano music...
the dialogues in this game are simply beautiful and I love how Saphire and Ruby are canon in the manga I'm crying so many tears because of the ending here
I'm not understanding how Rayquaza has a MEGA evolution and not a PRIMAL evolution like Groudon and Kyogre... Also space battle! It won't be long now before the series take place outside of earth.
Oh. I thought it would make sense for Rayquaza to have a Primal Reversion since it existed around the time of Groudon and Kygore, or something. I don't have a full understanding of the new things Pokemon keeps throwing in.
Darkboy132 Primal Reversions are pokemon returning to a state when they were most powerful. Rayquaza never lost power but became the first pokemon to mega evolve. Groudon and Kyogre lost their power after the fight against mega rayquaza and that power became the blue and red orbs. Those orbs give Groudon and Kyogre power and they go through primal reversion and go back to their prime forms or the peak of their power.
I thought Primal Reversion was also referring to Alpha (the beginning) and Omega (the end), hence the symbols. I dunno, I thought Rayquaza would represent the "middle". But thanks for the explanation.
crazyludicolo Rayquaza /did/ lose power overtime, though... Being dormant for the past 1000 years without consuming any Meteorites drained it of its true power and its ability to Mega Evolve. That's why the Meteorite that you stole back from Maxie is referenced so many times throughout the story. While Rayquaza depends on Meteorites to unlock its reserves of power, Groudon and Kyogre thirst for a large amount of natural energy in order to Primal Revert to their absolute peak. When Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre first fought, Rayquaza unintentionally Mega Evolved and gained the strength to stop them both, which caused the Primals' power to become stored in the Red Orb and the Blue Orb.
Imagine flying for however long aimlessly towards some random planet that you have no knowledge of just for a really pissed off Rayquaza to be your concierge.
Okay Zinnia, your partner just caught the fabled legend of your region, controlled the Pokemon that can bring about catastrophe and yet YOU STILL WANT TO CHALLENGE HIM?
i remember that deoxys battle. i had rayquaza use dragon accent and it got him down to 1 hp! my heart skipped a beat! i was like all "NO NO N-huh?" i breathed a long sigh of relief
PlasmaTempest39 omegaevolution Actually, the meteor started to burn up briefly before it was struck, so we can infer from this that the battle takes place within the atmosphere of the earth.
You mean a drAgon, now if we take the A and move the line in the middle to the bottom, you get a triangle, And you were looking at it, with your EYES, Illuminati confirmed.
first a ride on Graudon's back, now a ride to space to destroy a meteor on Rayquaza's back while he change to Mega form and fight with Deoxys. ok now i need to do that on mine version of Alpha Saphire
Two of my favorite legendary Pokemon in one video! I cheesed the ever loving crap out of Rayquaza with a lvl 13 Ralts and Memento. Was great fun. I must say, while some of the remixed tracks can be hit or miss, all of the new songs in this game have been absolutely fantastic.
guys random question when you fight deoxys in ORAS are we just kinda floating in space since rayquaza is either fighting or in it’s ball and that’s what we rode on
i had a very specific experience with the deoxys battle and i hope someone else can relate. when rayquaza burst through the meteor to reveal the triangular core spinning out into view, i fully expected it to morph into part of the ending title: Δ, the greek letter DELTA, and that would be it. but it lingered on the screen, for a puzzling moment... and then i heard That Sound, and i saw it move. my 9 year old self, that had repeatedly watched videos of the birth island deoxys event like it was a creepypasta, suddenly knew exactly what was happening the moment i saw it shift to the corner and heard the piercing screech. and when it had stopped screaming from one side to another, and i heard those familiar, chilling bells... well. the musical and dramatic progression through the moments the tentacles emerged, curled into double helixes, and deoxys lunged at the screen, is genuinely unmatched in anything i've played since. stan delta episode
