Brilliant, I finally did it. I was confused because in the video you load a save state or reset after the battle with squirtle (or so it seems). But instead I just needed to walk directly to the forest.
You start off with 3k. There's absolutely no reason why you can't purchase at least 15 PokeBalls. You can even get more if you farm the trainers and sell hidden items.
Im a little confused. So get poisoned, then just walk in front of the trainer? Or what exactly do I do in between getting poisoned and walking in front of the trainer.
It can’t be Spearow. You can only catch Spearow starting at Route 3. You gain access to route 3 after you beat Brock, which takes place after the glitch. But you can use someone like Pikachu, like I did.
i suppose you're done, i suppose the reason for the rival was to have an "event battle" in another place not being viridian forest and for that matter the only place is route 22.
