After looking through most reviews for scarlet and violet, I'm flabbergasted by the fact a SONIC GAME is getting better scores than Pokemon, though, it depends on what website your looking at.

I’m not a huge fan of Sonic and don’t like the main Pokémon games (I like the spin-offs though) and after playing Frontiers over the new Pokémon… I can’t believe I even thought of buying Pokémon over Sonic because Frontiers is fucking amazing.
See this is what happens when a team of people actually make effort to make a good game, instead of gamefreak that releases an unfinished game that while fun, its still very very unfinished
@@Banana807 Gamefreak higherups and the pokemon company are to blame. Constantly rushing their developers to make a new pokemon game without enough time to actually make said game polished or even good. Sega is bad for this too, but Iizuku stood up to Sega and is the reason why Frontiers got delayed. Bless that man. Risked his job just to make sure Frontiers comes out as good as it did. and they only have like 60 developers. What they lacked was manpower. Hopefully when they start doing a frontiers 2, they have much more manpower by then.
Here's the lesson. Success makes you lazy. Failure makes you try harder. Pokemon has so much popularity and money, they don't even have to try as long as the name itself sells. Sonic has had hits and misses with a very tarnished reputation, and when they bring their A-game to stuff like Mania and Frontiers, they are rewarded in the end. Struggling creates the desire to improve and it paid off for SEGA and Sonic Team.
I just hope Sega gives Sonic Team more staff and a bigger budget for the next game. It’s shocking that only 60 people worked on Frontiers and the game i assume had a very small budget. Keep in mind Frontiers’ development started before the first movie released so Sega didn’t give to fucks about the quality and just said “go make another.” Although good to see/hear that they’re taking feedback on frontiers to heart, even going as far as having a bug reporting community board on Steam

I love both franchises, it's surreal to go online and see that frontiers is doing great, and pokemon is releasing buggy games Normally it would've been the opposite
@@plusultrasaiyan7416 Their standard of trying to make one Pokémon game each year doesn't help them out, especially with the gap of how the games work and the delays caused by COVID. We literally got 3 Pokémon games in the span of a year because of this. They need to release the games when they are ready, not before (and considering their profits with the franchise, I would think they can afford to delay things a bit, but because of the obsession with having a game to be released before Christmas, it just causes them to release a _near_ finished game and not a _finished_ game). I personally have yet to play Frontiers (but I will. I have always loved the blue blur), but I'm happy for the reputation it has. There are a number of glitches in Scarlet and Violet, but sometimes those glitches make the game more fun (like item duplication or being able to glimpse beneath the map); but there are some that aren't welcome, and they shinies in Scarlet and Violet are just _rancid_ for most of these new Pokémon (if you are in a cave, Pokémon will spawn on tiles on the other side of the cave walls. You can still lock onto them and battle them, but it's still rather annoying to have to stop to try and battle that Bagon on the other side in order to check if it's shiny).
Pokémon has been selling lackluster games for a decade already, at least they made a step with Legends Arceus, but in the same year they just decided to do a full gymnastics routine backwards with Scarlet and Violet.

Undefeatable(amy/Sonic) "I dont give up till the end of me" Say what u will about her, but she's never stopped trying to chase after Sonic and be there for him "Ill give it what it takes, I'll find another way" Did u know that Amy's speed comes from her TRYING to catch up with Sonic? She got fast just from her effort. Break through it all(wyvern) "Don't stop, were on a mission, overturning the competition" When knuckles does something he puts his all into it. Even when it sometimes means he'll clash with sonic on it "Find your flame"(Tails) This one feels the most connected to a character. "I'm here to go beyond my limits not to compromise" I feel like this is tails wanting to be more proactive like sonic is. "I've been there, and I've seen it, I'm never gonna stop believing, you'll find your flame" To me this feels like sonic telling tails that he KNOWS he can be the hero he envisions himself to be as hes seen the potential in him. I just kinda wish the titans were switched up a lil in the order u fight em. To be similar to each friend u save Giganto(knuckles) Both are heavy hitting power types, relying on brute force to get the job done. Wyvern(tails) Both are flying and long range fighters. With tails dummy rings and wyverns missiles Knight(Amy) Both appear to be thin and weak but are weapon masters. Amy's piko hammer and knights sword and shield.

While it may not be the best sonic game character wise it’s a step in the right direction I the Gang feels like how they used to be when I was a kid and if rumors are true that a certain person is interested in making another adventure game I’m very excited especially if they plan to continue the character development of tails knuckles and Amy. now if they get shadow the hedgehog right that’s when sonic will truly be back for me. Also sega if by some miracle you see this PLEASE make another Sonic Riders game I miss the boards and jet and his crew think of all the characters you could add.

I’ve been playing it for some time now with Sonic Frontiers, is Scarlet & Violet legitimately the worst? It just kinda feels like a regular Pokémon game except sometimes the animations won’t play out but still functional. When I do say regular Pokémon game tho, it isn’t really praise, it’s just a “oh, normal nothing much” feel

Scarlet and Violet's Team had nearly the over 100 employees working on it in its entirety, according to sources that Nintendo did NOT pressured Gamefreak to push the release faster and they weren't lacking on resources, with the bare minimum of 3 years at best. And what did you get for the same prize? An unoptimized game which doubles itself in the issues that SW had, an quickly stale progression in variety on Team Star, game is even easier than XY in Difficulty and AI (Champion and last Trainer of the Pokemon League Route are a joke), characters like Penny make the previous ones like Marnie look better in comparison. Not to mention that it's prone to crashing and there is still stutter and crashes possible when you go to trade online. Gamefreak has simply become complacent with their status quo after everything that happened with SW. Pokemon is ok, but it is absolutely fcking not a 60$ series anymore since Gen 8, when all that is going to happen are just 1 step forward with 2 steps back.

@@iregretsomeofmypreviouscom3284 Nah. The Forces of Pokemon is Sword and Shield, because they both barely tried to do anything noteworthy, and removed stuff in the process. Plus, Forces isn't a glitchy mess. So '06 is the more logical comparison to Scarlet and Violet.

Frontiers isn't without jank but it rolls really well with it in the open zone and is always fun to play. The new Pokémon does technically have a lot of good parts but it's just so embarrassing and needed way more time in the oven. Why are there so many awkward glitches and missing parts?
Pokémon Fans: No the glitch didnt affect the game at all its only a minor inconvinience(Litteraly extremely game breaking and iritating) Sonic Fans: I only had Pop ins because Sonic is too fast, and some Area kinda suck but thats about it(Said glitch is barely noticeable)
@@johnpoku9854 there's alot of people experiencing it I experienced it a little, not the extreme types yet atleast sonic frontiers on switch is a bit wonky cuz Nintendo but on pc or any other consoles the only thing your gonna experience really is the rail pop ins cuz speeed
People seemed to experience the camera a bit differently too. My experience with it was fine for the most part, but people had issues with it going everywhere

You know what sucks more is that Nintendo said they were going to patch the game up but then since it's getting success still they decided not to patch it up which Is sad.

I love Pokémon and it’s been a central part of my life for over a decade, but in the past few years, I haven’t been very hyped to play a Pokémon game tbh. I ended up buying Frontiers because it genuinely seemed like an awesome game, and I like Sonic games quite a bit too, and it’s p fucking awesome.
Here is something funny, Hal and Gamefreak initially released Kirby Star Allies and Pokemon SS, both games were criticized for leaning too much on the 3DS games of their franchise and some fell those games were mediocre at best, now the year is 2022 and when Hal Laboratory released a fresh Kirby game that is a revolution to the Kirby franchise and one of the best kirby games of all time, game freak releases what could be the worst pokemon game of all time.
Also, Sonic suffered the same fate as kirby, Sonic forces was released, it was heavily criticized and considered mediocre and now in 2022 Sega released a game that was a breath of fresh air for sonic
As someone who has bought and 100% completed both Sonic Frontiers and Pokemon Violet, I can say that both were pretty enjoyable. Pokemon SV if you can see past the technical problems which admittedly is egregious and inexcusable for such a large franchise like, you'll find they're pretty good games, the open world is fun to fuck around in, the games can get pretty challenging at points but tbf I was probably stumbling in an area stronger Pokemon and trainers than I was at the time, the story was one of if not the best story we've ever had in a Pokemon game, aside from the music it's the most polished part of the game. The character writing was phenomenal, Sonic Frontiers also had great character writing and people got emotional for both games. I honestly did not expect SV to had a story as good as it was, my boy Arven really went through it, I also didn't expect team Star to be victims of bullying that stood up for themselves when no one else would but then were seen as the villains in the situation so they banded together and just stopped going to school, they're just a bunch dorks that life decided to shit all over but they had each other to get through it. Sonic Frontiers also had technical problems mainly a disgusting amount pop in, but it was just fun running through the open areas at the speed of sound completing micro courses to get a collectable. The Super Sonic boss fights were the best parts of the game, it just sucks that we can't fight them again without starting the game over. Both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and Sonic Frontiers are surprisingly great games, I do prefer Sonic Frontiers over Scarlet and Violet, yeah SV was more consistently food because I never got frustrated with those games but SF had higher heights, the Super Sonic boss fights alone were much cooler than anything in SV, also nothing beats running as fast as Sonic in an open area, I don't even have a destination a lot of the times, I just run across the map because it's fun to do so. Whether you prefer SV over SF or vice versa, hate both, or love both like do we can all agree that the music in both games slaps hard, but IMO SF's music slaps a bit harder, I cannot get sick of Undefeatable, Breaking Through it All, Find Your Flame, and The End's theme.
They're both pretty similar actually. Games that are fun with a surprisingly good story held back by being rushed and the technical issues that entails.
I really like SV's story, specifically the end part which is why I'm so mad that the rest of the game is sometimes inexcusably mediocre because of crunch; like if they had the time to iron it out, this would have been really fucking good
Honestly, for this one, I gotta give the edge to sonic frontiers, I prefer a complete and finished game that had actual care put into it, Even just a month or 2 more for SV would probably make it a lot better

I thought sonic frontiers needed more time in the oven. But scarlet and violet has a bug that make instakill moves guaranteed to hit in pvp and raids are a Disaster to play with other players. Both ways to play with other players can't function properly.

listening to Celestial playing on the walmart radio when i was shopping had me trying not to laugh because my mind was imagining all the janky shit that happens in the game.
As much as I love Pokémon (been playing it my whole life, things like that) Sonic Frontiers is definitely the better game compared to Scarle/Violet. At least to me. But both are great in their own ways too, just wish they'd have waited on Pokemon a little so these performance issues wouldn't have happened.
both games are good (well, pokemons not much but still) but sonic has absolute bangers, amazing graphics, the first good review in 20 or so years for sonic, and even fixing tails and amy. meanwhile pokemon is like 'omg why is frontiers getting all the praise????? it has so many pop ins!!?!!?!?!?!??!?!' like cuh nobody cares about the pop ins. the game is good and thats the best thing.
Scarlet Violet also has good modern story for a Pokémon But the performance is SIGNIFICANTLY worse even when Gamefreak released Lets Go, Sword and Shield, and Legends Arceus before

I love them both dispute their flaws for different reasons and are the only 2 open world games that I feel comfortable with playing because I couldn’t get into Breath of the Wild
Sonic Frontiers wins over Pokemon SV obviously, but compared to other Sonic games, Sonic Adventure 2 still wins. But I did overall enjoy Frontiers a lot, yet I still will play SV because I enjoy pokemon a lot
As much as I love adventure2 and I’m probably gonna get flamed for saying this sonic 06 still has to be my favorite yes it’s a buggy mess yes Sonics story kinda sucks but I love how it continues shadows development and I enjoyed silvers story as well plus it was the last game that understood shadows character

Separating Classic Sonic was the best thing to happen to Sonic. The way I see it, the series was free to do whatever it wanted, but when it's ambition started to steer from where it started, people lamented that the games weren't like what they used to be (and no, 06 isn't to blame though it didn't help - this was going on since Heroes) and a decade's worth of gems were all just brushed aside as "the dark age" (aside from sometimes SA2), doomed for only fans to uncover the great games forgotten and unloved by time and for the series to try and play it safe for years, trying to be classic Sonic and denying what Sonic truly was now. Then Mania brought Classic Sonic into his own game and Sega started treating modern and classic Sonic as separate brands, not only finally appeasing those who wanted classic Sonic back but allowing 3D Sonic to be itself rather than try to be classic Sonic. Forces tried to do more with the series again and... didn't quite work, but 5 years later and Frontiers was actually able to just go the distance and give us something fresh, experimental, and new like the series once did on a regular basis. Some people lament the lack of a Mania 2, but given Origins and the fact Mania was a huge success (even Frontiers had a number of seemingly-obligatory Classic allusions) I highly doubt that they're abandoning Classic Sonic any time soon, and someday he'll get the starring role once more. For now, 3D Sonic seems back to it's true, unpredictable self, paradoxically going back to it's glory days by embracing new ideas and ambitions. And then Pokemon just could not keep up with the hardware jump to Switch

Im a fan of both, but after seing all problems with Pokemon S/V, Sonic OVERPASSED this game in all facts! I also loved Frontiers so much, already did the music videos of the Titans, they are just EPIC!!! Specially *Undefeatable* this song I just loved it, Sage's song *Dear Father* is too way emotional, and I love that Eggman showed his soft side for the first to one his creations that speaks to she as "daugther". And the idea of a "Tree Abilities" for Sonic is amazing, combats are too way epic. Ngl I love Frontiers, I rlly wanna play it sometime Srry pokemon, but this time you lose, the new game needs more work
