A moment of silence for all the kids like me who, in their youth, never actually played the game properly by not team building at all and avoiding as many trainer battles as possible only to hit this wall with a single under leveled starter.
My sister did this exact thing. She asked for advice when she started the game so I said pick cyndaquil because it was my favourite at the time, when she got to Whitney she had on,y caught a pidgey and I stared at her screen as she got wiped out by rollout
@@tutuanimacoes6220 Turns out all you need is a geodude. You can even evolve it to graveller by then, and if you can trade you can get it to golem right away. Use rollout against clefairy to get started and you can easily one shot miltank. Even easier if you use defense curl first, on top of the defense bonus it also doubles rollouts power. By the 5th rollout it does a disgusting amount of damage, something like 900+
never played the originals, but that thing was a *bitch* to fight in the remakes. attract + stomp flinch just destroyed my entire team so i had to grind my cyndaquil up to a quilava
As a kid, I remember being traumatized by this battle. As an adult playing heart gold and soul silver, I remember one of the NPCs trades you a female Machop. But after being traumatized by this Miltank as a kid, it was too little too late.
Yes, chikorita sucks on a johto playthrough. Totodile is okay, and cyndaquil is good. You can always get a shiny gyarados at 7th gym, or you can get an arcanine after elite 4 and 3 Kanto badges
Whitney was pretty easy on my failed Crystal VC run, first I thought I was doomed... Then I remembered my geodude knew Rock Smash and Rollout. The fact that it only knew normal type moves didn’t help
Erika wouldn't cheese you with a goddamned rollout/milk drink combo though. Also, Ponyta and doduo are just grasses nearby if you really needed counters for her. The mega drain is a bitch though, I'll give her that.
Dude I played the remakes when I was like 6 or 7, and a Quilava, pikachu, pidgeotto, rattata, butterfree, and nidoran female were all fucked up hundreds of times by that damn miltank. The phrase "Quilava was immobilized with love" still haunts me to this day.
Idr Cynthia and that was only a few years ago that I replayed the game. But I still remember the rage my 8 yr old self felt all those years ago with that fucken milktank.
How to beat Whitney -Rocky. That one Onix from Violet City. Teach it Rock Smash and and have it use Harden to get to +6 and then Rock Smash and Rock Tomb to wear her Miltank down and lower its defense and speed. If Rocky can't take down Miltank by itself, then it will at least lower its defense, speed and/or HP to the point where another team member can.
I remember when i played heartgold and fought her, her clefairy use mertonon( sorry if i missed spelled it) and some how ended up using palkias move (forgot what its called ) and destory my starter in one shot
Nuzlocke teams: Yumi (In case Miltank use a Normal Type Move on her) Linkle: Clefairy slayer Stella: Freaked out about Morty Amphy: Keep getting left out, but surprisingly good. Flora: Gengar counter if I don't attack Lomax: For Bruno's Onix when I get to the Elite Four
It took like 10 tries to get through Whitney until I finally got lucky, she is the broken one. Like even more broken than Anakin in Battlefront 2 before he got nerfed a dozen times.
I first saw that Whitney had just two Pokemon and thought this fight would be easy. Then the Miltank came out. I leveled a Magikarp to lvl 30 specifically to get a Gyarados and wreck her shit.
And pokemon crystal was my favorite. It had a lot of content for one game and it is not easy as the others, also add some the hunting of legendaries and thr maze of the three birds. You just need to get past Whitney xD
Honestly idk if I was lucky but i never saw her milktank use rollout (i was play heartgold) and i did have a female starter but again i never saw her milktank use rollout she only used milk drink once
