I initially didn't want to play pikachu at all because of my disinterest in overpopular pokemon like it and charizard, but now that I saw this, I might play pikachu (also since it's free and I can safely pick talonflame as well) I'm waiting for talonflame guide, great video as always ❤️👍
Thanks for this great guide! I was thinking of trying out Pikachu recently and your guide is pretty helpful! I'm planning on using an Electro ball + Thunderbolt moveset with Focus band, Choice specs and Energy amplifier.
I recommend trying score shield, special attack spec's, buddy barrier, with full heal. the special attack specs and early pressure of pikachu makes it very easy to get the last hits and do quick scores for quick stacking. after you reach your six stacks, you're free to stay further back to avoid getting engaged upon. Furthermore, because of hindrance immunity after full heal, you are unable to be interrupted using your unite move or using your unite as a counter engage if you get engaged on and more emphasizes proper positioning and poke with electroball
@@Jhit123 you're dead either way if you've gotten to the point where blastoise is flashing onto you. this particular variant is about poking. Focus band won't do anything for you either if blastoise flashes on you and eject is on a way shorter cd than blastoise's general mobility. It's better to accept you can't win all battles and instead bolster a playstyle that doesn't punish you for just *being* pikachu. To wit, pikachu is not in a good spot and is in part due to not being able to scale well.

I know I see everyone use ball but I just don't feel like I have as much impact with it as a good bolt + thunder in the middle of the fight, those two together just feel like a match made in heaven

In my experience using Thunder and Thunderbolt helps in team fights. Where everything gets really hectic. It deals damage to the area. Usually my other team mates will finish them off. Pikachu is only there to make sure that everyone get's stunned by thunderbolt and damage dealt with thunder. Thunder and thunderbolt is super useful when the enermy is defending their goal. As soon as they are stunned my team mates can get in and takeover their lives easily.
@SuperTeeds: Hi again! Long time no see :D A lot of the things you that you complained about Archero in your ranting video have been fixed or included in the game. In the upcoming patch, the new Clan System will be introduced. Is there any chance that you'll give Archero another chance and at least try it out and see how it feels now? I'd love to see a video about reaction to the above
Welllllp….. not that I play every day, but I need to start looking at the scalings then. I had no idea he didn’t scale well off of sp. I went for a glass cannon build; Wise Glasses>Muscle Band>Energy Amplifier. I’ll just swap out WG for a defensive item then. Pikachu plays like any other ranged caster I know how to play, so I’ve just been focusing on my mechanics with other Pokémon. Maybe I’ll give him some love next time I login. From what I tested , for pikachu's stats , it gets 3.2% HP recovered at Lv1 all the way upto 8.1% at Lv15 with Lv20 shell bell when you successfully land a move. It hits 4.9% at Lv6 so you have at least 5% recovery most of the game. Shell bell has 8s cooldown which will cause desync with electroball of 5 sec , so you will need to time it properly with other move or wait 3 more sec until you hit your next eclectroball to get most of it . Since pikachu has the longest basic attack range in the entire game and you are always at a distance , maybe the 5-7% HP recovery every 8sec can be good on it.
Thunder is much better imo. It combos better with with his stun and gives better crowd control for your team and the enemy. Enemy won't chase if they have to go through thunder. Plus dropping it on top of zap is almost a garrenteed grab with your team. It takes more skill but its more rewarding.
Choice specs is definitely a way to go. I play with a pika main and he uses choice specs and wise glasses and it's no joke he always finishes with 100,000+ damage and hits super hard
Could an electroball Pikachu be a good ganker? Since the move never misses and does a lot of damage to low enemies, could that make Pikachu a viable option for centre role?
wait what about that yellow dotted line pikachu gets sometimes when he's targetting an enemy, that seems to increase your range as well? I see it come up but I never know what it is, or what to do with it?
I notice "paralyze" key term (static around enemy) is different from the stun (stars and stop moving) mechanic. Stun can't move but paralyzed can. Does it prevent them from using special attacks, normal attacks, or maybe lower accuracy?
Tbh I had the same opinion about volt tackle and electro ball but after this one match a 2v1 me against tanonflane and cramorant I decimated them both I clearly just underestimate the combo just because it’s not a team fight combo if your in one
Pikachu is really a good Pokemon I defended my goal post with this Pokemon in 1vs 3 conditions and I also support my teammates from staying behind them and defend my goal post best duo combination is Wigley tuff + Pikachu is really good combination I realised this things about this Pokemon today 😂😂 I mostly don't use Pikachu that much but when I realised playing some matches with this now I use it every single matches and not only that you also need to know how to play with him
From playing it myself every now and then, I think Absol might be what you are looking for. Pretty squishy but the gameplay is kinda like: do jungle, jump into fights and crit a lot, back up or die, repeat. It's *the* crit character. Reminds me of assassins in early Heroes of the Storm
Greninja. Missing Health damage, extremely mobile, a lot of Flexability. Alternatively you can go Zeraora for more damage against high health targets. Or Talonflame for backdooring and sudden ganks. Assassins are not really in a great spot in Unite, especially in the mid lane where ranged characters make better use of the EXP due to their better scaling, and scoring + Objective taking being more important than kills, which the more you have the longer respawn timers you get when you die.
It should be the 22nd, but they have to clear any patches that they may make with the platforms (Switch, Android, iOS) and Apple is the least friendly. The 30th is likely just a buffer they gave themselves if they need to make a last minute patch and wait for approval. (Approval generally takes a week). Better to pleasantly surprise than massively disappoint.
I think people underestimated this volt tackle and electro ball combo I decimated a 1v4 with thunderstorm and volt tackle and electro ball against the rock crab Pokémon gengar venusaur and slowbro
Thunder can target bushes paired with thunder bolt this combo Is the way. Until they let me choose which way to come out of volt tackle . Pika p I approve of this video. #1 pika
It upsets me that Pikachu is so squishy. That little rat was super tough in the anime. Sure he got his teeth kicked in a few times, but it was usually a Randy Marsh situation. "I ain't hear no bell."
Unite seems to follow the game canon more like most of the spin offs. Out of the whole roster, Pikachu is definitely the squishiest in terms of game canon.
