At this point the palworld devs should look into trademarks for all the improvements they made from pokemon games to prevent Nintendo from ever making pokemon better in the same way, would be like the biggest fuku.

@@afuzzycreature8387 Divisional Patents, basically root patent from 2021 is used to make 4 sub-patents to use against Palworld. Legal Mindset explained it in his video.

@@afuzzycreature8387Yeah not an expert on Japanese law but as soon as I saw it was patent I knew it was an issue. For example if it was trademark or copyright newly filed you can very easily argue you were already in use of it by then. However to fight a patent you have to prove you invented it before them, and well Megami Tensei and Dragon Quest can say the did monster taming/capture before them no one can say they did poke balls first.

The problem with Nintendo/TPC creating a "Pokemon game that people want" is that people want different things, and the internet voice is not always a good measuring stick of player opinion. Also FIRST IN VOD!

They have that measurement now, it's Palworld. They don't want to make a spin-off that might be better than the mainline turn-based games. They already made a ton of spin-offs, something similar to Palworld is not a bad addition.

Coping and seething is going to be stuck in my head, thank you. Too bad about Nintendo, I guess we'll see where it goes. But I personally hope at least some of that gets taken down. If they win on blocking mechanical copies of their games we might end up with similar situations with FPS or other genres.

This is insane, the divisional patent, the whole situation. How is it legal to make a patent in 2021 and then make new patents in 2024, which work BACKWARD??? This should not be a thing. Nintendo truly is the disney of Japan in the worst ways.

Kind of works in America as well. Say a trademark you can dispute you were already using it, but to dispute a patent you have to prove "you invented it first." That's why they decided to go this route, notice it isn't monster taming because they themselves ripped that off it's the poke-ball mechanic.

1:21:58 I tracked it down and Craftopia had "monster prisms" at least as far back as September 2020 (maybe even before), and the mechanic looks identical except for the capture probability.

You'd have to dispute the patent and claim to be the original inventor. And obviously they added those extra details to make it harder to dispute that's why this took so long.

@@GodwynDi Which is why Nintendo added the percentage chance and that it's a ball it didn't have those. Furthermore if they try to patent Nintendo is going to say it infringes on their original patent that doesn't have the aiming but has everything else. Like I'm rooting for palworld but Nintendo but some effort into this.
