Let’s see…. she freezes hundreds of Pokémon in stasis for her own pleasure and enjoyment, nearly kills Nebby by painfully absorbing its power to create Ultra Wormholes and showing no remorse for it whatsoever, even having the audacity to call it a "loud and annoying Pokemon" as it screams in agony, is a frighteningly realistic portrayal of a narcissistic and abusive parent who treats her children more like dolls than actual people and was so downright awful that they finally had enough of it and straight up ran away from her which later caused her to cruelly disown them, drugs and infects her own beloved Pokémon with Nihilego's toxins to fight the player, is perfectly willing to (and almost does) destroy all of Alola by flooding it with dangerous Ultra Beasts for her own selfish desires and finally, willingly fuses with Nihilego to transform herself into a nightmarish alien tentacle lady that attempts to later directly kill the player and Lillie (her own daughter) in a last-ditch effort to win. Rated E for Everyone.

Instead of the awful in between USUM had between Lusamine being a terrible person and an "unsung hero", the anime went the full 9 yards to change Lusamine from being controlling to just overbearing. The show provides a wholesome what if to the Aether family, allowing Lillie and Gladion's mother to be sane and father to get his memory back.

Ngl, this one actually gave me chills down my spine because of how much this lyrical adaption goes more into Lusamine's character from regular Sun and Moon. The preservationist who wishes to keep her collection contained for eternity, Ultra Beasts included, and will go to the most extreme lengths to fulfill that goal. Guess you could say... she truly is the Echidna of Pokemon.

I love this duet of Lusamine craving beauty and preservation due to the unfortunate loss of Mohn while Lillie points to her controlling nature and craving of "perfection" being doomed to drive people away and hurt people and Pokemon that don't deserve it. I love the Aether family storyline in SM and this song and art do a great job of showcasing why.

It's too perfect for this: If I had a nickel for every time OstaraVA sang for a vain, controlling female villain obsessed with beauty from a 3DS title in a long running series from the 90's and that song also happened to be a duet between them and a loved one disregarded by them, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but, and I cannot stress this enough, *it is weird that it happened twice.*

I'd say if there was a difference between the two it would be that Sectonia saw only herself as worthy of the world and distorted herself into pure vanity against her will. While Lusamine does have similar feelings about herself, she also sees herself apart of a greater group (aka the ultra beasts) though at the same time she sees humans as well as her own children beneath this greater species .

Man, this lyrics really gives the idea of madness, exactly love madness, that Lusamine had succumbed because of Nihilego's neurotoxines, and this thing, mixed with her and her company's goal to protect Pokémons, made Lusamine a woman who lost every reason because of her obsession with Ultra Creatures and for that she doesn't pay attention to the Pokèmons' wellness, the right thing to do and, most importantly, her kids, who had no choice but going against her and the Æther Foundation for Pokémon's sake.

this... i dont like this. i (mostly) agree with you, just to clarify, and that's exactly why i dont like this because yeah, there's a good chance those pokemon have been stuck like that for a long time. but in a pokemon battle, the freezing is often a lot less significant for a shorter period of time so... given how much more serious it is in this case, there's a good chance those pokemon's suffering... well it went gone on for a while, but at least it might be over now

You see the problem here is that the protagonist isn’t Lillie. Because apparently Game Freak is trying to fulfill the obligatory self insert character to destroy any potential immersion you could have in a Pokemon game that isn’t a spin off. Not to mention we’re working with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon footage. Although it’s clear we’re referring to the actually good version from Sun and Moon.

@@alauddinhaider1387 Better than prior female villains Madame Boss (no actual canon name, never appears outside an audio drama, is never referenced anywhere in the anime including by her own son) and Hunter J (makes an extremely basic mistake and then...gets exploded? And then the final villain of the original anime is some generic guy using her exact same tech?)

I love how audible the glee is in Lusamine's voice is when she shows off her frozen Pokemon, it's like she genuinely believes she is doing the right thing for her and her "precious babies" yet all the heroes can do is stare in abject horror The way Nintendo basically backpedaled and went "no she wasn't that bad a mom actually" frustrates me so much. They basically turned sun and moon from a heartfelt and serious story of helping someone escape an abusive situation to "OH GOLLY TEAM ROCKET IT BACK OH GOODNESS SOMEONE STOP THEM"

Let’s see….. she freezes hundreds of Pokémon in stasis for her own pleasure and enjoyment, nearly kills Nebby by painfully absorbing its power to create Ultra Wormholes and showing no remorse for it whatsoever even having the audacity to call it a "loud and annoying Pokemon" as it screams in agony, is a frighteningly realistic portrayal of a narcissistic and abusive Parent who treats her children more like dolls than actual people and was so downright awful that they finally had enough of it and straight up ran away from her which later caused her to cruelly disown them, drugs and infects her own beloved Pokémon with Nihilego's toxins to fight the player, is perfectly willing to (and almost does) destroy all of Alola by flooding it with dangerous Ultra Beasts for her own selfish desires and finally, willingly fuses with Nihilego to transform herself into a nightmarish alien tentacle lady that attempts to directly kill the player and Lillie (her own daughter) in a last-ditch effort to win. Rated E for Everyone.

All complain that Team Skull is hilarious. Yes but we have this crazy monster so what's you problem? We have a true threat. Well at least in SM she's truly evil, in USUM she's inconsistent. Opening a portal to stop Necrozma and save the light but still freeze Pokémon. Lusamine is a control freak in the moment her kids do what they think it's right she doesn't accept them anymore. It's kind of cute that Selene and Lillie hold hands in the one Picture.

Lusamine in US/UM: I love Pokémon more then my children, but I know the danger of Necrocma and must protect the beauty of this world at all time. Lusamine in Anime: I am an overbearing mother who loves my children and Pokémon and will do anything for them.
