Recently cracked Aces with 72s. Vs someone who has been known to do that sort of stuff but he was in tight-mode.Alcohol is no good while making poker decisions
And this is why he is the goat. Most of the people from his generation have fallen out because they haven’t kept up with the times. Meanwhile he’s giving a master class on cutting edge Poker play.
That explains why he hasn't won anything in years right? Not throwing shade but yall can't keep saying nonsense. Negreanu is great but newer players are coming up and winning big
I love playing people that keep track of ranges, because I love playing angles. Whenever possible, I'll pay to see a flop with a random hand like 5-4 off suit because those that hit usually pay out really well.
Never played for serious money, but I always loved to bluff with 7-2 offsuit just so I could show it and screw with their minds. The rest of the time I played very tight.
Bluffings fun lmao I always gotta do it atleast once, for most part I try to play honest tho I feel like it gets in their heads more when ur like Daniel n make it seem like u don’t bluff even tho u do lmfao
Exactly I went all in with pocket aces for like 300 and I got called with 3 5 off suit guy hit 3 on the floor and 5 on the river I was livid. Range help but don't tell a story people will play reckless in hopes for a score
exact cant stand these pretentious online stars that were designed by these scamming Poker online site.Like they think they are scientist for playing a kid card game.
@@yungbruhmane8751 ofc. It's just that i saw a lot of felas that play by the range and they tilt when the donkey bluff them with 7-2 or calls their bluff with high Jack.
I've been playing poker for 30 plus years and I've always thought about ranges to put people on. I don't know why he's saying nobody thought like that. Odd
it may have become more intellectualized today but no way that's true that all possibilities weren't considered 20 years ago. That's a curious statement from Negreanu.
This is why eventually Phil Hellmuth could actually end up back as one of the best. If players begin to play too predictable, robotic, the unpredictableness of Phil could give him an edge.
Last night I saw Phil whine abt Tony Gs poker etiquette for like 30 mins straight it was fuckin hilarious😂😂 if ydk the pot was getting big n Tony lied saying “I haven’t even checked my cards yet” Phil believed him n bet high asf Tony snap called then took the pot n Phil could NOT let it go😂😂
This is extremely basic information. All he’s saying here is someone raising pre flop is more likely to have a hand like AK versus the limper that calls the raise which is true 90% of the time regardless of skill.
When you play a lot of cash games against drunk-rich bluff-machines you don’t think their hand range is in the box. They raise with any two cards in any position anytime. All you can do is wait until you get a good flop or try to read them when they bluff. They often get runner/runner luck on the river by the way. Massive raise early position with K4o and you call or raise them with AQs. The flop is obviously Q44 Hand range? Tell me about it. 😂
Makes me laugh when people say can't believe you called with that after winning a big pot, end of day poker is about playing however you want, there are no rules to how you can play your cards, go with your insticts and gut and that's it
What I do is target chip Bullys let them win a few hands be aggressive then sucker them in to trips flush straights, poker is also about capital risk, what are you willing to risk to see your opponents hands
How ridiculous. Of course intelligent players thought like this back in his day. All that's different is someone gave it a cute name, an obvious one, and now people throw that name around while a large number of them don't really understand what they're talking about.
But what I dont get is, he could be bluffing the whole way and he could bet 3k with Ak but someone else could raise 3k with K7 but because I wouldnt do that with K7 i would eliminate it and be wrong? So isnt it a guessing game at the end of the day as if you guess the exact hand he would have?
That’s a lot of effort and studying to determine he has a hand that he absolutely could not have. But you combine that with what you know about the player and there ya go…
How can you eliminate the idea that somebody doesn’t have a specific hand solely based on a bet? Or if somebody didn’t bet? I mean I don’t play these tournament style games just yet, but playing no limit hold ‘em in all the local casinos for roughly a decade, I’ll tell you, you cannot use this dudes mind set. “ he raised to 3k so there’s a bunch of hands you know he can’t have. “ I’ve seen people bet big money on a hand you’d never expect. So why doesn’t the factor and element of surprise ever get mentioned?
I would agree with this philosophy yrs ago.. now however it's extremely difficult to assume ranges when everyone raises constantly.. they end up having the hand u have eliminated all the time lol
You can do that at your local casino, or NL4, but going crazy with those hands in high stakes cash games, or high roller tournaments is very much losing in the long run.
In my world he is still correct, but lady luck is king because unlimited is not on the table, so deep pockets don't rule the game only very, very good plays or a lucky bastard🤗
This guy used to put opponents on the exact hands they had!! Now he finds it necessary to go to ranges. HE DON'T HAVE THE SKILL ANYMORE SO HE NEEDED TO BECOME A GTO ACCOLYTE!!! Don't ever tell me he's still one of the best in the world. He isn't.
