Hope this gets some traction- I've been saying this for a while. Used to be head of fraud and collusion department for iPoker, and when I left RTA had solved HU and short stack/ limited position games, ie twisters/ spin & gos. That was nearly 5 years ago, so inevitable the whole poker ecology is becoming infected.
As an online player, what I would like to know from those security expert is what is the percentage of the field using those advanced gto RTA's, Also I play up to 12 -15 tables, can people use RTA for that many tables, just curious? Would hope they are limited to 1 or few tables, but I have no idea how it works and how much compute power they need, if it's locally calculated or if it's at distance from servers.
solving RTA shoudn't be too difficult. it seems to me like the way chess does it. you measure your own presolved databases and if someone is playing too close to GTO, you investigate and take action if necessary. not even the best chess players can play perfectly. poker, especially with the time limit for decisions, and the complexity with the vast number of nodes, players should NOT be playing close to GTO. now, ofc a player can deviate intentionally, maybe slowing down the time it takes to detect (but they should account for intentional deviations too when detecting)
