In this clip, Marc and Alex talk about the fact that poker supervisors are constantly evaluating the chip runners to determine if they would make good poker dealers.
Thousands of current poker dealers, poker supervisors, and even poker room managers started out as chip runners just to get their foot in the door in a poker room. Many of them were trained right in the room itself without having to go to poker dealing school.
Chip runners are important positions that help keep the rooms running and they provide excellent opportunities for untrained people to learn to become poker dealers a little at a time while making enough money to pay the bills along the way.
