You mentioned something about a “god cartridge” and for the first 15 years of me playing Pokémon I only obtained 7 shiny Pokémon, and 6 of them came from a sapphire cartridge that someone left at my friends house. Every time I started a new game I found one randomly before I beat it. I’ve actually thought about pulling it back out to play it through again.

Idk about Sapphire, but in Emerald the RNG is broken so it always starts from the exact same frame every time you restart the game. So if you were lucky and had a shiny frame just a few minutes in, then every single time you hit that frame you'd get a shiny. If you were unlucky and your first shiny frame wasn't until a few hours in, you'd have to let the game run for a few hours every time before you'd ever have a chance of getting a shiny

I reckon it is definitely dream luck, and the electrode luck was simply there to off set it. I’ve watched a lot of RU-vidrs do shiny runs and they all get insanely lucky, weird how that happens 😅

Little story, I downloaded a Pokemon Crystal rom to play on my phone. I was going through the game as normal no nuzlocke or anything. I got to Ecruteak city and released the dogs. I head west towards the next route after beating the 4th gym and run into Entei right away. And what happens? That thing was f'ing shiny. I was excited but then my heart went into my throat, I had no way to catch it, I could chuck a pokeball at it but it would just run away since I had no way to prevent it from fleeing and it would not be shiny again. I had less than 5 pokeballs on me (no ultra, no great, just pokeballs). I threw the pokeball hoping for a miracle and what do ya know? I actually caught it. I was so excited, it is by far the craziest thing that has ever happened to me in a pokemon game. I really don't know what those odds are, but thats 1/8192 for the shiny, and about 1/130 to capture.

Shiny hunters resetting 15,000+ times for a shiny legendary, meanwhile I'm over here with a shiny Reshiram that I found completely by accident in Omega Ruby. Didn't even know it was Reshiram's gate that I had found. Best part is that I encountered it while talking with a friend about how I hadn't personally found a shiny pokemon since generation III.

@@kingivan1151combined with the insane catch rate he definitely changed stuff. I’ve shiny hunting for years and I have been similarly luck (in heart gold as well lol) getting 3 in a week in under 2000 total but when RU-vidrs do these sorts of challenges they all seem to get EXTREMELY lucky, so I highly doubt the legitimacy. And then there’s the speed up which is another thing entirely

Crocodile was named 9 inches because Smallant's hands are 9 inches long Eevee is Cream because the pencil sharpening titan Footcream arrived just previously to the stream Gyarados is called after me Electrode is called Gurt so that when he comes out it says GO-GURT! because Smallant had never tried a gogurt Dragonite because someone said it should be called clover since shiny dragonite is green Lugia is called Peach because someone requested it, and because Smallant was refering to Lugia as Luigi (Luigi+Peach) Ho-oh so that it said GO-ld! when they sent it out, because it's Ho-oh

Impossible mode! Shiny quest 1. A shiny for every gym 2. A shiny for every rival battle 3. A shiny for every event battle (Proton, intractable pokemon, roaming legends, gift pokemon) Only exceptions are shiny locked pokemon (in soul silver there are 0)

Ive only ever attempted one shiny only playthrough before and I decided to do ORAS, since it has LOTS of shiny hunting methods to spice things up - Craziest thing that happened was me getting BACK TO BACK shiny Shroomish! I named them "Kanga" and "Roo" :)
