I get that they're trying to make their Origin forms look like they are something Arceus made in it's image but Palkia should've kept it's arms and be more like a centaur.

@@theamazingspooderman2697pretty sure it’s just collateral damage from energy from the Legendary transforming into Origin Form without it’s respective item and the other Legendary shielding the Player and the Clan Leaders from the same energy.

@@GrimCrumbz I fully believe this theory is correct now, looking at PLA they're the only games in the series to have an altered dex entry for each of the creation trio's "origin forms". For Palkia, it says "It soars across the sky in a form that greatly resembles the creator of all things. Perhaps this imitation of appearance is Palkia’s strategy for gaining Arceus’s powers." I think the word "imitation" is important here, it doesn't make it sound like Arceus created Palkia to be in this form, almost like this could be it's "Imitation Form" and not Origin. For Dialga, the dex states "Radiant light caused Dialga to take on a form bearing a striking resemblance to the creator Pokémon. Dialga now wields such colossal strength that one must conclude this is its true form." This is Laventon writing this and we can conclude he named them the Origin forms based off this thought, but why would Dialga choose to block it's throat, it's way of using Roar of Time? The form Dialga and Palkia is imitating in itself isn't Arceus as well, its just an avatar. It seems to me that Arceus would show them it's true power through this punishment upon them. We also don't see these forms in DPP, possibly meaning they learned not to test their creator. (Although this could just be because they didn't exist when DPP was made). With Giratina, the juxaposition of the Creator, it's black sheep child if you will, the dex states "Giratina loses its legs upon changing into this form. I believe this Pokémon must hail from a world where the heavens and the earth are as one, though I have no way of proving it." The fact the dex mentions the origin form loses it's legs makes me think that in the distortion world, Giratina can move freely throughout the space in it's origin form, but when in the human realm we see it in it's altered form. Giratina can come to the human realm whenever it so chooses as we see in PLA and DPP, I think that it doesn't want to due to Arceus' punishment of grounding it, making it slower and it's wings smaller, not being able to fly with them OR using it's signature move, Shadow Force, to the maximum potential. We actually see this with the animation for it changing in PLA when in it's Origin Form.

I like to think these are the first physical forms they took, though where they were made by Arceus or by themselves is up in the air. Also these forms are canonically VASTLY more powerful than their altered forms and Dialga’s Roar of Time and Palkia’s Spacial Rend are shown to be more powerful in game. Dialga’s diamond, which is the source of its power, has expanded and moved closer to its mouth which would make it easier to use Roar of Time. Also the diamond resembles the hands on a clock and in Legends while using Roar of Time a bunch of plates circle around it with the diamonds jutting outwards last to make the clock resemblance more striking. Palkia’s power source, its pearls, have now completely engulfed its shoulders(?) and have grown so powerful that it doesn’t its arms which have become its forlegs. When it uses Spacial Rend in Legends, the ring on its waist expands and resembles ripples on the water’s surface. Simply by running it can shatter space.

But the moves are also less accurate and therefore worse @@Pixelite_

Then why are they called Origin forms? It just gives the impression of “God created man in his own image”.

@@Robin_GlorbGiratina is kinda odd because it was originally banished by Arceus for being a dick head, so its held a huge grudge against Arceus and pretty much does its own thing. It’s based a lot on “fallen angels” as the distortion world seems to be like a representation of Hell and Giratina is a giant serpent. The last thing it’d want to do is resemble Arceus in any form.

In a way, horses are used in a lot of biblical scenarios like the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse for example and the horses they ride. Palkia losing arms but still having a centaur like build makes sense for the unconventional and out there design like how biblically accurate angels also have looks that feel out of place in the natural world.

​@@Forged4War206Makes sense, and with biblical terms, serpents are usually portrayed with demons like the serpent that manipulated Adam and Eve to eat the fruit they were forbidden to eat from and even how during the end times, the demon is portrayed as a Dragon like beasts which are usually serpent like creatures. So the origin form being a wyrm/serpent makes sense.

If Palkia had arms like a centaur, I think I would have loved the design. Unfortunately... yeah, doesn't work for me. Cool fight, though. Even better music.

@@Lucifronz People are obsessed with Palkia not having arms when I could easily see something like that being a JRPG boss. Some Pokemon fans are scared of non-conventional designs for ironically nonconventional Pokemon

well, I could be wrong, but from what I heard, these forms are a form of punishment from Arceus, like these 2 wanted to be him or like him too much, and he took Palkias arms so he cant use space rend, and put that big bulge on Dialgas throat so he cant use roar of time. At least that's what I heard a while ago.

In the battle against arceus it does say that this form is merely a representation

@@jonathanh3214It is said these are their original forms, but I headcanon them as Palkia and Dialga, in their insanity, twisted and contorted their bodies in a bid to look more like Arceus, and in the process Palkia cripples himself by ridding him of his arms, making Spacial Rend weaker, and Dialga cripples himself by making Roar of Time much more energy draining, making Roar of Time lose even more turns.

I like calling it a death angel cause that’s what it looks like to me

Kinda odd that Origin Giratina has no ring... We could almost call it a "Halo" at this point, and that could really emphasize that Giratina, lacking one (either got it removed or never had one) is the symbolism of Giratina being the God of Hell.

@@Gazing-09 why did I never think of that!? Sorta like it’s halo was destroyed when it was banished to the distortion realm which would be like the fall of Lucifer, further connecting it to Satan or a ruler or god of hell in which case the distortion world is HELL. So in platinum Giratina dragged Cyrus into HELL like people say demons can do if you summon them.

@@Lucifronz different opinions then man. For me seeing all the redraws and remodels with arms just look ridiculous and crammed in there. *I* can’t wrap my head around thinking this design looks bad, it’s just different perspectives.

The only thing im not a fan of in palkia's design is the front legs being so "organic", with the kneecaps and malleoluses bones looking like a real horse, without any darkish purple detail or decoration like the upper part of the body. But i also think it's cool af, and super regal

@@mikrokosmochi now that you mention it yeah the legs (and tails tbh) seem super plain color-wise compared to the rest of the body. More dark purple would’ve been super nice but ah well 😔

Honestly I guess I just understood now why they're designed like that: Dialga loses his throat to get the power needed to be like Arceus (no more throat means no more ROAR of Time) and Palkia loses his arms (no more Spacial REND). On the other hand, if Palkia and Dialga sacrifice something of themself, Origin Giratina's design underline that if you want a stronger Shadow Force, a move that let you sneak behind the target, you do not only need a world of yours, but you need to adapt to that move, and that's because Origin Giratina is based off Genesis' primordial sin snake

Also because dialga is theoretically the stronger one, Dragon/Steel is a pretty powerful combination.

Arceus doesn't have an upper torso attached to its horse body like some sort of incomplete centaur. This wasn't even close to the checkmate you clearly thought this was.

For whatever reason, I never wondered where its arms went. I guess in my mind, its arms became legs. I dunno, I was just in awe... I managed to go in completely blind and the origin formes caught me off-guard.

@@captainnomekop5056 ehhh Rapidash is a horse but with some imagination sure... I don't hate the designs either but to me they are objectively worse. They could look cooler than the originals but you would have to change a few things. Dialga looks like it has something stuck in his throat so remove that or make it smaller, the front legs look silly make them slim like his back pair. Palkia though oof where do I start. Those hooves look stupid so make his legs bigger, give him an extra pair of arms or remove those shoulder pads because it makes him look like he has no arms. Actually five him a lance that would look sick af and maybe make the wings bigger or give them a different shape like they did with his tail.

@@RoyArkon Together the rings around Palkia and Dialga make up the ring around Arceus. Dialga has the 4 points while Palkia's is rounded and they both together make Arceus' complete ring.

@Golden Pug Studios The only thing ugly here is your comment, and these are not fusions, these are alternative forms and they make perfect sense, and they both look awesome, especially Dialga. They are creations of Arceus, and therefore it makes perfect sense they will get forms like that. End of story.
