I think they will get seats but labour is on the cards to win. At least restraint will be used by Reform on labour proposed bills. I.E. Giving illegal immigrants and non citizens who live here voting rights is a disaster waiting to happen for brits.

He managed to pull several other parties into a "coalition," and THAT brought his numbers up enough to "win" the position of PM. I know a lot of Poles (particularly younger ones) who voted for Tusk because they thought that the PiS was becoming undemocratic and it was a protest vote. They were not pro-Tusk, and are now openly regretting letting him back into power. If there was another National Election tomorrow they would not vote for Tusk. I live most of the year in Poland, so these are people who I have known for some time, and many of them are professional people.
They took a page out of the criminal US Democrats book and fixed the vote. Tusk is Poland's No 1 enemy and it amazes me just how many cannot see it. Poland take your country back. You will forever regret it if you don't.

The Irish government reworded the amendment excluding participation in common defence. The reworded amendment - the twenty-sixth - was put to a second referendum and was passed, allowing the Irish government to approve the Treaty. This is how modern democracy functions. How exactly does this equate to "the EU demand another vote"? You can always look it up.

Not sure. I believe a large reason that countries like Poland and Hungary joined in the first place was because they felt it gave them a degree of protection against Russia. For that reason, they'd still have joined, I think, even as a net contributor. Of course they had no idea, back then, that the EU itself had ambitions to become another Soviet Union. The question now is, why don't they leave? From Poles I've spoken to, they still believe it's in their economic interest, and membership is therefore a price worth paying. Or at least they did, before the EU began slapping huge fines on them, and parachuted Tusk in to lock the country down even tighter. The realisation of what it means to be in the EU, is only just beginning to dawn on them.

Poland received the equivalent of 385 billion of Polish Zloty (PLN) of the UE subsidies (payed in Euros). The cost of the law changes, implementation of the UE standards, additional bureaucracy, interest on loans to match UE subsidies, liquidation of Polish coal mines, ironworks, shipyards, fishery, textile industry, limits on agriculture production, etc. (all required by UE) for the same time were 750 billion PLN. There was never any governmental response for their publication. Poland used to have vibrant heavy industries, now there is mainly assembly, service and some agriculture economy. Any competition to the German economy was liquidated. Being in the UE was and is a great economical loss for Poland.

I have nothing against Russia and its people, but what makes you think the Poles are Slavic? The fact that they speak a Slavic language? Hi, I'm from Poland. I want to give some (own and subjective) insight from a pure election-politics perspective. The anti-PiS coalition (4 parties) objectively won parliamentary elections. They did this mainly thanks to the historically phenomenal mobilization of its electorate. 10% higher turnout than everyone expected, something that probably won't happen again soon. Plus just a bad election campaign of PiS and an abysmally bad campaign of Konfederacja. Present elections are a shock because: Historically, whoever takes power usually receives a huge popularity bonus for winning, and whoever loses power goes down hard. This is what it looked like 8 and 16 years ago. The polls after the elections confirmed this trend. Lib/Left media assumed massive victory cos of it and it was a rational assumption. But three months of the new government were enough to reverse it, although on a small scale for now. However, this is important because there is a certain life cycle for a party in power, usually first period is great but later power wears it out, people want something new and polls start to decline. That moment when Tusk was in power for the first time occurred in the 6-7th year of his rule (and he left for a position in the European Commission). Now this government is starting to lose its support base very quickly and without a victory bonus growth phase. Still, they have (as coalitiom) a majority and the future is unknown, but if we extrapolate Polish historical election trends it is a bad situation for them.

Poland need the EU for money. The problem is that with the previous government (PiS - Law & Justice for them and another for everyone else) the money that they were getting didn't filter down. The EU stopped funding them due to various reasons, mining coal, Judicial system controlled by the Government, and more. Tusk is pro EU and wants the money, some might filter down the Polish people hope. The problem is that Poland are a NET extractor of EU funds and Germany hasn't got any money to continue funding it. If the UK had left without a deal 30 billion payback, countries like Hungary, Austria, Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, the Scandies and maybe Ireland would of gone and the EU would be over by now. It isn't looking good for the EU now. You can only print so much money until it all collapses. Maybe the Vatican can fund the next recession!!!
The money from the EU is somewhere around 3%-4% of Poland's annual government budget half of which is loans and the EU decides to some extent how this money is spent. We're in the EU for trade not some irrelevant money that have nearly no impact on anything.

Poland's GDP is around 800 billion Euros (Statista 2022) you get an extra 100 billion Euros from the EU around 15% of your total countries GDP for the year. Maybe that's why Poland's growth rate is doing so well, Poland include the loans to their P&L's and not the balance sheet. All countries should try that one. Remember these funds from the EU are loans to which Poland has to pay back the interest of 6%, if it defaults the EU will take the countries assets to the value of the loans. So it is relevant that money and the other loans Poland has received from the EU, as they are on the countries balance sheet, or in Poland's case on their P&L. Since joining the EU your debt per capita has gone up exponentially. Let's not go in to the trade issues. Best, you do some research.

We DON'T GET 100 billion euro from the EU every year, you understand? We have so far received 153 billion euro from the EU since 2004 and we will receive another 137 billion euro for the years from 2021 until 2027 so that is 290 billion euro in total within 23 years so that makes it 13 billion euro a year. Our annual GOVERNMENT budget (not GDP) is 203 billion euro so the money from the EU is around 6.4% of our annual GOVERNMENT budget half of which are loans that MUST be paid back. I'm talking about government budget not our GDP. If we compared the money from the EU to our GDP then the proportion would be even lower - around 1.6%. The money from the EU is almost completely irrelevant. The money we make from trade in the EU is way more important. And our DEBT to GDP is around 49% and under control unlike Spain which is 112% and out of control.

The Parlament election was the same. The only reason Tusk is prime minister is that he formed a coalition with The Third Way and the Left. The poll only shows how many people voted for a given party overall which isn't not important when it comes to local elections since coalition on local level is totally different than on parliament level. Parties may hate each other on the national scale but on local level is totally different cup of tea. Also the poll doesn't show, in which regions which party won which is more important.
I don't think you've fully understood this, Mr Heaver. Because Tusk heads his coalition, he is sadly still in a secure position by having the overall majority in local elections in Poland. Tusk is popular, though I can't understand why.
He's popular because PiS is clearly a worse choice. People were sick of their draconian social policies. Honestly, I was among the many who were shocked PiS stood up to Belarus with the fake refugee crisis. I thought they'd just cave and lick Putin's ass. I've rarely been so happy to be wrong.
