It's crazy how much this road up until it gets to Central Katowice resembles an American freeway going through an American city. It looks like this road is any interstate traversing through a Midwestern American burg. And even in Central Katowice it could be going through the center of a Northeastern city (like Philadelphia or Boston). Very interesting and a very cool ride.
fortunately there is A4 motorway that serves the transit traffic, and there are some longterm plans to create the another bypass route for international transit (they call it A4 bis)
3:37 - oh, czarny punkt :o Czarny punkt (literally "black point") is a rare sign depicting an exceptionally dangerous place on the road. Usually this sign includes the number of fatalities that happened there as well. Now this sign is very rare, but when I was travelling with my family as a kid in late 1990s and early 2000s, the authorities spammed national roads with these signs, sometimes updating those fatalities' numbers as well - driving in Poland at that time was actually quite dangerous, even though there were fewer cars on roads...
this mark has not been used for almost 10 years. An exception was made here because the number of accidents on the bend behind the sign was significant and efforts were made to emphasize it. Especially when it was raining. But it was only the installation of a speed camera that forced drivers to reduce their speed and reduce road accidents.

The biggest problem of this road is that each city must maintain its own piece of road, which is clearly visible in the condition of the surface. as for me, it should be an expressway with central maintenance and a traffic management system that allows you to react to events or weather. Thanks for sharing. You could argue that the road is still unfinished. If you follow the 79 to Mysłowice you can see that the 79 was supposed to be build in the direction of the A4. Instead of that you have to exit the road and follow the old route through Mysłowice. Much less shiny and new as the (new) skyscrapers in Katowice.
