#News5
This is heartbreaking! I'm not surprised. Iceland's respond to this is to kill instead of relocating them back to iceland because it's cheaper. Money can be earned but dead polar bears have an impact on this planet more than people can imagine. Their numbers are already dwindling. So many countless animals killed when there are better ways to deal with them. For those asking where the animal groups are, it's not always as easy as you believe. As a biologist , we often buttheads and money often talks especially if relocation can be costly for them. Those in charged in the government have the say. We don't . I've worked with Hvaldmir during the pandemic. Some where for his relocation away from thr busy port while others wanted him to stay in his current dangerous location which eventually led to his demise. Unfortunately, this will continue to happen as the planet warms up. More animal deaths because of our own selfishness.
Animal rights ground couldn't do anything. In 2008, two bears arrived in Iceland. Their response was to kill them instead of relocating because they pose danger to people and animals plus it's too costly. It's a sickening excuse because money can be replaced but these animals are already suffering from thinning ice caused by humans and now they'll get killed just because they are looking for food. More will come because of the changing planet.
Grabe. Pati hayop may karapatan sa mundong to. Bakit need patayin? Very cruel...
