Polar Express at the N.C. Transportation Museum - December 22, 2022 

On December 28, 2022, the North Carolina Transportation Museum ran their festive Polar Express trains with Southern Railway 6133 and 2601 powering the trips. On display with a smoke machine for added effect was Atlantic & Yadkin 2-8-0 #542 dressed in its Southern Railway scheme. Note that on this particular day, 2601’s generator car broke and was replaced by a Southern Railway flatbed carrying a portable generator, which made an interesting mixed passenger train.
