This goes faster than it looks, Much fun actually!

This is so much fun when you don't expect you will drop! In real life the drop looks so much faster!

When I rode this I was not at all prepared for that drop track it scared me pants less.

I tried it. Believe me, it's not as slow as on the camera, it's much more fast. Like, ALOT.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I went on this once and was the first one to start screaming

It’s actually an amazing coaster! Despite the drop track not being themed I still really enjoyed this! Does have some room for improvement though

Does no one understand it's a family theme park? This was made for families to enjoy, not for you to scream with 100 drops and loops.

I agree. I love rides with good drops, but I also like non intense, calmer rides. I personally think this ride looks like a lot of fun.

It was a small drop for small kids. They're not just going to stick a a drop like the one on Giant Drop (Australia) It's Legoland dude. And Zierer makes some pretty good stuff.

@Krazycoaster It must have been a typo because i've worked on the ride, myself, and it's a 16 foot freefall. If you look at pics, which you can find on theme park review or google, there's not a chance the freefall is only 6 feet.

2nd intamin vertical drop coaster is the best! Sorry thirteen, but you have been OWNED!

Dude, when i was younger prob more than 4 yrs ago i hated that first hill cuz for me that ''seat belt'' thing kinda went forward and made me feel like i was gonna fall out from the side. Cuz i always rode in the front seat to the right

One of the things that you need to consider about the LEGO theme parks is that everything is made with the kids in center, larger kids and adults wont feel as awed by them. My son, age 4 loves The Dragon (LEGOLAND) its his favorite ride in the world. Kiddie coasters and family coasters is just right for him, he's been in a few Hyper Coasters but they are still to scary at the drop. So just remember to filter when looking at coasters, who is the intended audience ? and would they like it ?

I don't know why people here are being such critics of this. It may not be my cup of tea, but then again it's not a super coaster filled with "Thrills and chills" and a bunch of super theatrical effects and such. It's meant for a certain demographic and even I can see that. If anything, it's a great place for the younger ones to get accustomed to the thrill rides that we all know and love. It's for starters and novices. Quit being overly subjective.

I've try this and after the freefall you laugh, are in chock, talks with the hand mate, etc. and you aren't even thinking about the tide anymore ;-)

I think it looked great, perfectly sized for a lego land park and actually, it looked much faster on the handheld POV. Top work LegoLand.

This reminds me of Sierra Sidewinder (but without the spinning cars).... if that makes sense. Not too fast! Eeeek, except for that down part!

There's a big building beside the ride. You can spot it sometimes throughout the ride. To all the people who say the coaster looks boring af, try the attraction in the building. I'm not going to say what it is, but you can go there and try it yourself!

Its built at Legoland, so therefore its a family coaster.

Only 2 coasters predate it--the first was Th13teen in the UK (to have the elevator/drop tower element) then Verbolten in the US.

I read the description on legoland's website and It sounded a lot better, there isn't a great amount of themeing present but I guess its a kids coaster and the drop didn't actually seem 5 meters at all.

Legoland in Denmark is making coasters mostly for childs and family coasters, not for hardcore teenagers... Also there is an Airport next to Legoland Billund that makes a limit of height... Just stay in UK to get wild coasters ;-)

Depends what you like. This has a better outdoor section - Thirteen's outdoor section is trimmed to death. But I think Thirteen has a better drop sequence and superior theming. Basically they're about even. The one that stands out above them, of course, is Verbolten ;)

in legoland billund coasters aint made to be scared.. its a children themepark..

It's definitely a family/kid roller coaster. No steep drops or high speeds. Short ride with some animation thrown in near the end. It's alright but I'll take some loops and speed any day.

I do agree, though, that the theming on the ride could have been better. Especially the section before the drop, where you spend most of your time just outdoors looking at buildings. Then again, I guess Dragon is kind of like that too after the dark ride section.... Personally, I thought the best looking part of the ride came AFTER the drop!

Just added a link to a photo report in the video description. Ride seems to look MUCH better in some of those off-ride shots, and the theming looks closer to the concept art. Maybe the POV just doesn't quite do the ride justice. Look at the photos and tell us what you think!

They won't. Besides, this is supposed to be a kiddie ride, plus Verbolten has a really cool drop ala-BBW.

It does reach their demographic but legoland is normally very well themed/presented. Where the drop occurs the area doesn't even look great I think they need too make it feel like your actually falling through the ice which I can't see they've actually done a decent job.

Even though it's for smaller children, this ride does look fun. My only qualm (if I HAD to find one) would be the pacing for the hills after the drop section, which looks really slow even for the demographic. It makes sense when the train reaches the penguin area, but not for the area before it. Regardless, the ride does still look like a great family ride, and entertaining for all ages.

Pity the ride is so short since the first part of it seems really fast. Are there any released specifics of the ride, i.e. height, length, speed etc?

Do keep in mind this is Legoland. They design rides for small children. Unlike Alton Towers, who designed a pleasant ride for families, but told everyone it is the most extreme ride in the universe and was going to kill you if you even thought about coming anywhere near Th13teen! ;)

Kind of like a Roller Skater and a Dragon Wagon had a child. Cool concept and great family fun.

Well, that last section was pretty.. pointless. No idea why you'd go to the effort of the track tilt mechanism to just let it basically dawdle back to the station.

Technically only half true. Th13teen in the UK was made by Intamin and was the first coaster to have a built in drop tower. Then, Zierer built Verbolten in the US (bigger than Th13teen) and this one (smallert han Th13teen)--so same idea and Th13teen started it, but this is a different company.

I disagree. I think Legoland rides are PERFECT for their demographic. I know from first hand experience that my five year old daughter LOVES them. I think if you're looking for Top Thrill Dragster, you shouldn't be watching a video of a Legoland ride. Your comment can essentially be thrown in the trash bin.

That was manufactured by Intamin. Similar systems, I believe. Intamin seem to do that, the first wingrider was Intamin, but B&M have built lots since, but Baco is the single Intamin.

This still looks pretty cool for a family coaster! No pun intended.

to people who think this sucks...come to Arizona where the only 2 roller coasters in the state are "Desert storm" and "Patriot"...the closest theme park is knott's berry farm, 6 hours away...

This comment makes zero sense to me. You answered your own comment. Legoland *IS* a family theme park. If you're looking for a park with lots of thrill rides, Legoland isn't for you. Their demographic is families, and I personally think adding big rides to attraction non-families would be a step in the wrong direction and a HUGE mistake. If you want one of the best family parks in the world, go to a Legoland, if you want a bunch of thrill rides, there's Six Flags. Don't mix the two, please!

please flame623 any coaster is great for thrill seekers. what maters is speed. the faster it goes the more excitng (but sometimes sort of scary) the coaster is. how fast is this coaster?

Wasn't too bad of a coaster. It puts me in mind of a different version of the matterhorn. If only the layout was a bit longer, and if there were more north pole like caverns. Maybe a small part of the coaster with a little indoor ride time, looking at arctic fashions, and polar bears, seals........etc.

I've heard that it was supposed to be bigger, but that they couldn't due to the airport that's next to the theme park.

it's cool..I suppose..I'm not sure I see the point of the drop track mechanism, other than to connect two separate tracks.

no its made by the company zierer which is from Germany, Lego did not make the ride they bought it

the roller coaster elevator was amazing! its probably the only one in existence but the ride does seem to need a few tweaks.

It only looks half finished, but at least it has some theme too it. Better than coasters that are all steel and concrete. Maybe they'll add more theme in months or years to come. Overall I like it.
