Maybe it’s kind of like when someone implies to Donald Trump that he’s a stupid person and then he responds by saying he’s the smartest person ever in the history of the world. Like maybe there’s some kind of new strategy now to flip your line of attack back on you, to the absurd extreme... 🤷♂️ People just say rando things that make no sense these days with a completely straight face
jesus youtube people just dont get sarcasm, of course he was joking, and i think he is quite witty, maybe that's why half the comments didnt even get that was a joke. nicky rod has the swag to become an ufc fighter in the future (after killing it in grappling first).
@@pz320 lol ofcourse m8... he prob washes rockhold tomorrow tbh. Also I'm 80% sure he's just trolling in this video, you can see him sorta smirk at various points
Isn't that basically what MMA is for, which is something that most schools offer anyway? Also, it's not that easy to just stomp on someone without getting leg locked, or to punch someone going after your legs for that matter. Try slap jiu jitsu with your friends and you'll see there are many leg locking positions from guard where you can effectively keep your opponents punching range at a distance.
Did this guy just say that Luke Rockhold is going to get gun shy under the bright lights? World title holder luke Rockhold? Polaris is small time compared to the ufc stage come on now. Should be a great match, that was just a weird statement.
I know people have said that Nick is playing a character, like Gordon, but he's showing how ignorant he is. Either that, or he's showing how false the facade is with such a weak performance. Luke is a former UFC champion, and Nick thinks Luke hasn't felt the pressure of the crowd, lights, and huge arena? Absurd.
Luke is right on about this new trend of bjj where butt scoot and leg lock is the primary attack. I love leg attack though, I just think it shouldnt be the primary option esp in self defense.
Maybe the Sunglasses and Hollywood but definitely not the low blow with a scream. If Luke had more Bruce Lee in him he wouldn't be leaving MMA for Jiu-jutsu.
Two things i can't understand. 1. He says Luke doesn't have experience under the "big lights of the Polaris stage". The man has been fighting in UFC main events for the majority of the past decade. 2. He says England has given us Shakespeare and The Beatles. Last I checked, the match is in Wales.
Anyone see luke free rolling with mike cheisa before there last fight. Not the same as this but mike couldn't do anything to him and kept getting subbed
If only he lost this arrogance in fighting, he'd be the MW champion again two years back. When he came to the UFC he wasn't like this, he was serious with his opponents, he was more composed. Somewhere before the Weidman fight, he started having this weird talk and insane arrogance, he fights like that too, he has all the capabilities, but he fought like nobody is at his level, nobody can hurt him, and he's special. This is the #1 reason for his downfall, his mentality and arrogance, which resulted in his recent style. He's still the same now. Though, now, there is no going back. He's taken so much damage and KOed in his last 4 fights that he's essentially done. His chin is gone, his body rarely makes it through two fight camps consecutively, and his mentality is still the same even with these defeats, he never learned from them, because there is nothing to learn, he's the GOAT and he just didn't execute, that's what he tells himself, and the ppl around him perpetuate that. Since he left AKA, I don't feel his coaches are honest with him, that's what he lost, nobody keeps him in check
Jiu jitsu is a sport which involves self defense, its funny that Luke thinks leglocks are the easy way out, what if there's a gun or knife involved??? a good leg locker should be able to beat you in a street fight when it comes to one one!
This guy....treating Rockhold like a beginner...Poor boy..Rockhold has a 15 years bjj experience against his 12 months! I never liked Rockhold like now..thanks to this ignorant
Good lord, nick had an impressive run at adcc but how dumb is he? I mean maybe he was trolling like a ninja but i feel like he believed what he was saying
@@WhitePony-zu5pi i know but it is so weird considering the people he is attached to, not necessarily the most likable people, but very smart individuals. so maybe he is just trolling, don't know
At first, it sounds like Nick wasn't told who his opponent was: " some new guy doing his first pro grappling match" because nobody could be that dense. And then you realize he's just that dense.
This would be a great transition for MMA fighters I feel. To go to Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. For those that aren’t so hot at it, it gives them something to strive for competitively and safer. And honestly it would bring more eyes IMO to that world with big names making that transition when they are done fighting in MMA. I’m sure they’d get paid nicely. Maybe not as much but it gets the ball rolling for the future. definitely tuning in myself tonight
So main eventing U.F.C. Championship fights isn't big time like Polaris ???? It's on Fight Pass bro not PPV or ESPN . I've never heard of Nick Rod or whatever he calls himself. He may be great . But I have seen Luke Rockhold . And his ground game is ABSOLUTELY suffocating and he is ling and strong !! I've seen him out grapple Weidman and Machida easily . Those guys have great ground games . I'm n ooi t interested enough to order but I'll watch it after on mmashare
How to douche bag: 1. Refer to yourself in the 3rd person 2. Tell a UFC champion that he can't handle the bright lights because this grappling match is on "Fight Pass" 3. Refer to Wales as England and bring up shakespeare in an attempt to look smart
Polaris should make a special belt for this fight: CMF - Cringyiest Mother Fu*ker belt. Just when I thought Rockhold was bad enough along came Nick Rodriguez
Was Nicky’s interview about someone other than Luke? Maybe he was just trolling saying he wasn’t ready for the bright lights and that UFC Fight Pass was the big leagues lol🤦🏽♂️
Top trolling from Nick, saying Luke Rockhold not prepared for the big leagues, saying the events in England... if you can’t spot the sarcasm it’s probably an American thing
Nicky Roids really appears to be an average wrestler. Placing 7th in the State Finals in HS from NJ is not really bragging rights. You tell me Ohio, Pennsylvania, California then you’re saying something.
Does Nick know who Luke is? What’s this about him not being used to Polaris lights and being on UFC FightPass, dude he’s the former UFC champ! Lol fool 🤣🤣🤣
Never heard of Nick but he sure is ignorant. Luke can't handle the pressure of the Polaris environment?! Really stupid?! The pressure of the UFC is more than any other combat sport today.
90% of the poeple that commented on youtube are avreage iq at best, you guys just got trolled big time by nicky rod, that guy was joking and sold that quite good if 90% of people didn't catch the joke.
While nick just won, idk if he realizes that rockhold has had bigger audiences watching him weigh in then this entire event. To think he cant take a crowd or being on fight pass is laughable. We like you as a solid grappler, Nick. Stop doing these interviews. Haha.
Former strikeforce and ufc middleweight champion luke rockhold finally stepping up to where the big boys play Polaris. Jus hope jon jones and khabib could use ufc as a stepping stone to get promoted to the big leagues one day
This dude going to the Gordon Ryan school of embarrassing sh*t talk that only makes himself look silly. I don't know why John condones this sort of behaviour. These guys are more than good enough for their skills to speak for themselves.
Luke you are so good but you keep your hands down when striking. Hope you heal well and start taking people to the ground and impose yourself like before.
