Another great video, we would be still head-scratching. cutting the connectors off replacing them with heat shrink butt splices, and installing a central ground bolt. Had a lot of green connections, thanks, Bro.
Thanks for the video. Cleaned my shifter housing and I must have done something to the switch inside the housing. The four wheel stopped working afterwards. Now it is working fine.
New subscriber here, I have just purchased a 2004 500 Scrambler that needs alot of elbow grease so I will be looking for fixes for sure. Spread the love!
There should be accessory connectors (if not already used) under the hood that is 12v hot switched by the key, that can be tapped into without having to splice the power wires.
@@jake4x41982 unfortunately the low gear transmission i obtained from a 6x6 was geared only for low gear so still haven't got mine done. But you would need a hi/lo gear shifter from a pre 04 machine. The shifter functions are the same but I believe around 97 the gear position switch for the indicator light went from the shifter to the transmission so if the shifter has wires it its pre 97. The shift rods are different lengths so try find some that are from a machine that has same style gearbox as yours. Or just make your own. And to mount it I suggest looking at part diagram and copying it if you can.
Hello I have the same issue. I have 2008 polaris sportsman 400 ho. I can't get it in awd. The awd switch has power positive and negitve in switch. What do I do
@TitaniummanGarage I have a 2002 magnum 325 4x4. Do you have a solution on why my 4 or 5 indicator lights don't work? I think on is neutral and one is maybe low range and one is high and maybe one is for oil temp? None of them work. Thank you. Love your video's....
I have a 97 sportsman 500 that after I switch into reverse then back into Ho it pulls crazy hard to the left until I stop n switch into neutral a couple time then back into Hi then steering is fine again . Any tips or idea wat I’m dealing with
When I let go of throttle My 2001 Polaris 500 wants to downshift and starts breaking hard without any input. If I hold down throttle just a little I can drive it at low speed but as soon as I let go it wants to slow down fast. Will Venmo you if you know the answer.
It's simple! Cut the grey wire with a white stripe and connect it to a red wire. You'll have constant power to the switch. When you turn off the 4 wheel drive switch it will disengage.
