It's amazing how many guys doing videos on these 5 pin switches appear to be clueless about wiring switch on power to the dash light and battery power to the load, two different power sources through the switch. Thanks for sharing.
You should be running the power from you pulse bar with an inline fuse to your relay on the 30 terminal. The pulse bar switched power then goes to your rocker switch. The rocker switch the goes to your relay control terminal 85 and ground to 86. Then the relay power 87 goes to lights. This way you are not putting a load through your rocker switch.
@@BlueBARv5 Don’t all switches have a load once you switch them on? I’m no electrician or anything but could you guys post a video showing us the right way. I definitely don’t want a fire or lose my machine.
@@BengyM obviously I'm pretty late here but when this guys mentions 86/87/85/30 he's talking about the relays on the wiring harness that you DO have from what I see. No worries you're fine.
IM still having problems with this, I wish you would have shown how you connected the wires on the back, I dont get what wire you clipped off, your video is the only one that actually makes an attempt to wire in a rocker to these so called wire harness, all I want to do is wire in the 5 pin switch and do away with that off/on stick on the dash switch.ALso, those wiring harness come with an off/on switch that just stick to your dash which needs getting rid off, what did you do with yours?
I don't understand what you wired the yellow wire into? The red constant power or the white bottom wire? I thought i had it figured it out today because i had the little light on only when key was on than when switch was turned on it was all on but kept popping fuses. Im still comfused, what am i splicing and tapping into? An updated video of the back of the switch would help alot or a picture! TIA!
When you said re wire all of them did you mean just cutting the wire off the switch and running that yellow wire from the rocker switch to the pulse and putting it in a casing or loom, or do you have to wire back to relay ? I hooked the wire up and it is all working great just want to make sure I’m not missing anything
Can you show the whole wiring process from light to pulse to switch iv tries everything and my LED switch only lights up when I turn the light on. The bottom LED on the switch never comes on
Tylor Graham it goes to the switched power, the middle wire on the pulse bar. I has to splice yellow wire to the white wire to reach the pulse bar because it’s what I had on hand.
@@BengyM I actually ran my switch power from the bar to the bottom right as you did and to the middle pin on the left. Main power runs through the relay but the power from keyed on power activates it. This way the bottom LED of the rocker is on while it's running and both LEDs are on when I switch the rocker on. Work's perfectly for both my light bar switches. Now I just have to redo my horn switch.
@@BengyM man thank you so much...also can you briefly explain how the rocker switch is ran from this connector. I know the yellow is for when the ignition is on then it recurves power. Well I wanna make certain that the switch lights up and receives power to power my lights only when the ignition is on, I don't want to be able to turn the lights on when the ignition is off ya know. Sorry this is kinda confusing to me. I repair laptops and iphones at my shop but this is a new venture for me. Could you maybe tell me where exactly the three wires from they connector goes to achieve what I'm trying to do???
Hello, I hope you can help me. I made an identical connection to yours. with the key off the led bars light up, but not the word "led light" on the rocker switch that only turn on with the key on. The problem is that after a week, the battery was dead. you didn't have that problem? I mean, I thought I had done the installation wrong, and that I needed another relay so that everything turns off when I remove the key. but I see that you did it the same as me. The only thing that I do not have installed with a rocker switch is a sound bar that is directly connected, but it has on and off in the bar, so I doubt that this is the problem.
Hello Thomas. Yes my lights themselves are hot all the time but will not activate until the toggle is switched on. You are correct on the word “led light” that turns on with the key. I haven’t had any issue with the battery though.
That is not correct at all You don't tun the load through the switch You use the switch to trip the relay . You are just asking for a fire doing that way
Thank you for your input. Could you provide a step by step video? I certainly don’t want to burn my machine up. I thought switches were designed for electrical loads.
I see no reason anyone would want these to come on with the ignition off... Personally I'd bridge #2 and #6 to pulse bar yellow so the switch light would come on with the ignition and the light only when the switch is pressed. Just me though.
