The Champion winch came with steel cable. I ordered 50 feet of synthetic rope and rubber bumper from Amazon. It was easy to replace without removing any parts on the Polaris or winch mount.
@@Theolddeerhunters I almost bought synthetic, it has some good points. However, the maintenance required isn't worth it to me. It's degraded by sunlight, by dirt and by water. So anytime it gets rained on, it's supposed to be unwound and dried. Anytime it's used, you have to be careful to not let it touch the dirt. And you have to wash it often and air dry before winding it back up again. People also replace them often because they don't typically last as long as steel. Which is expensive and cumbersome to keep doing. I decided it's way too much hassle and more of a downgrade than an upgrade for me .
