I was half asleep when I saw this and went to website and cannot understand why I didn’t see this car on their website. It was clearly a DeeDeeDee on my part because I didn’t realise that this car had four wheels. Is that legal to drive all over the world according to people living in America America LOL?
I am 87 years old. My wìfe of 59.5 years died 4 years ago. I bought a 3-wheel to help allay my grief. It wipes away the grief whenever I drive it. 'You want a 4-wheel? Go get yourself a car! -michaeĺB/Detroit
You made it the way polaris should have from the start. I am in love with this setup. If i could just go out and buy it for the price of a slingshot i would do it in a heartbeat. But the dollars and labor would just rack up to quick for me sourcing the car, the roof, the rear end setup, the turbo and welding in a partial cage along the roofline but my goodness would it be a thrill. Its not the thought of the cost thats stopping me but just the inability to actually come up with the cash. Congratulations to you sir for building an awesome ride.
as far as I have heard, (differs from state to state), it's still registered as a motorcycle but considered modified. It's a tough line bc the whole reason slingshot came out with it as a 3 wheel vehicle is to avoid the costly DOT requirements for a factory new vehicle. It is much easier and cheaper to produce it as a motorcycle. I bet some states require a reregistration and inspection as a car while other states will still consider it a motorcycle and possibly require helmets.
@@ThePhotoForcethey are "autocars" in all states but Massachusetts. They are recognized to be 3 wheeled vehicles that do not require helmets. Because they are not cars they don't require certain safety features, so they can be very light and very cheap. I do not know how adding another wheel would change your requirement to register it, but I imagine It would need a special registration.
@@chrishavill6458 awesome, thanks for the info, Ive seen some side by sides on the road now with tags here in ga so I bet it would fall under the same category as those now. Cheers!
Putting an actual rear end in it would take the stability flaw out of the slingshot. Giving it stability, but you would have to add some kind of rear fenders to make it look cool again.
Looks better with 4 wheels but i cant justify the price of one 30k+ for a mid level trim and then probably another 10k for this conversion so you have a 40k+ honda civic essentially that is less reliable.
