The pre-2024 version is the best 1-pedal driving car ... full stop! It works great in my car. It even blends friction brakes with regen if heavy braking is needed ... Tesla don't even do that! I have not driven the 2024 model, but I can't imagine Polestar forgot how to do 1-pedal drive.

I can absolutely confirm that Tesla blends friction brakes with regen. Does it all the time on my M3, and has for years. What information are you using?

@@247Checkmate according to this thread in a Tesla forum, the people there disagree with you. "Does the brake pedal activate regenerative braking before the brake pads apply friction?"

@@colossus_g We are talking about one pedal driving. Not using the brake pedal. If you use the brake pedal, it will do both regen and friction, but prioritizes friction because it's faster in the event of an emergency. For normal, one-pedal driving, it prioritizes regen first, but if additional braking pressure is needed, it will absolutely apply friction brakes - and that's only during one-pedal driving. I'm not sure what to tell you, buddy - drive a Tesla before you say stuff like that?

@@247Checkmate 100% correct in what you're saying! I've got the MY and can notice occasionally the friction brakes working (more so at slower speeds) working in conjunction with the regen braking of the motor. And as you have mentioned it works extremely well and seamlessly.

@@247Checkmate Maybe you should drive a Polestar to see how it should be done. 1 pedal driving is easy. But with Tesla it is either on or off. No in between. If 1 pedal driving isn't for you, then you wear out your friction brakes like any ICE. On a Polestar the 1 pedal can be fully on, partially on, or fully off. If you want it fully off because you like the 'ICE feel', then pressing the brake pedal still gives you regen and only applies the friction brakes if heavy braking is needed. Sheesh ... how hard is that to understand? Tesla give you a sub-standard system and you Tesla people still defend it!

Did you miss a button to open the boot? The button is located above the license plate. But in the fully loaded version you are driving, you just use kick to open.

I hate how they need to pay extra for those basic extra features

Weird comments on one pedal drive considering she admitted to driving around on the ‘Low’ setting. For anyone watching, MY24s have full one pedal drive. It’s slightly less aggressive then the MY22 I drove as a rental in Brisbane back in November (softer to apply, smoother), but it’s more braking force than my 2021 M3LR. For reference my comparison is with the RWD long range I test drove last week.

It is absolutely a one-pedal driving experience lmao. At least on my 2022.

Nice car, but the costs rise and rise with the additional ‘packs’. It is well designed and built, and has excellent specs. Back seat space is miserable though. I drive a new Tesla Model 3 LR. One pedal driving is superb. All a matter of personal choice, I’d stick with the Tesla on basis of inclusions you pay extra for in the Polestar. Not for me, but a great review.

Can’t take an EV based on ice platform seriously

Not always, for example BMW’s EV are also based on ICE platforms

The infotainment system is one of the simplest to use by far. Don’t forget you can set the temp by simply asking google. There’s also a button for the hatch at the back, and in the car.
