@@LJ-jq8ogdon’t put words in my mouth. I have always said there are many awesome brands of EV’s out there and I will continue to review as many as I can to provide my opinions on them. As more of these brands adopt NACS, people will continue to buy brands away big T to other brands. Competition is good.
@@dconner9 I respect your point BUT lets be honest DAVE there truly is NO competion… IF we recognize that most of these alleged “new” EV companies will likely not exist for long, and even the largest (GM, Ford) will also likely not exist (at least in their current structure)… Complicated by the fact that even you have to admit the “total ownership” experiences are beyond lacking then I cannot in good conscience “get excited” about any of them ! And, WHERE unsophisticated buyers go when they need/want to DUMP all of these over-priced POS💩 cars ⁉
Let’s agree to disagree. While I do see many virtues of what Tesla brings to the table, I own 2 of them now; your vision of only one brand of EV in the world is not a good end state for anyone imho. I see a lot of good beyond Tesla out there. My suggestion for you is to keep an open mind so your eyes can see it good beyond T. Perhaps someday another brand will meet your needs? If Tesla is the only brand in the world now that seems to accomplish that for you now, that’s totally cool. But I do encourage you to not ridicule or demoralize others that are looking elsewhere for whatever reason they have.
Polestar 2 refresh should appeal to buyers who don't like the Model 3 refresh because of the lack of stalks and the added advantage of more practicality of the Polestar 2 being a hatchback. The new RWD Polestar 2 single motor’s has 320-mile EPA range and faster charging speed. Other upgrades include an increase of 69 horsepower (299 total) and 118 extra lb-ft of torque (361 lb-ft in all). Additionally, the 440V platform can charge as high as 220 kW, charging 10-80% in 25-28 mins - a 20% speed increase, according to Polestar. Bjørn Nyland youtube video titled “Polestar 2 LR SM refresh charging test” shows the refresh 2024 Polestar 2 has much better charging speed - better than Tesla and iD4. Polestar 2 will get the $7500 USA EV Tax credit if you lease the vehicle. The new Polestar 3 will be built in the USA at one of the Volvo factories so will qualify for the EV tax credits.
I saw all these cars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023. Polestar has a great lineup of vehicles. 2024 will see two new EVs - the Polestar 3 & 4 come to market. Polestar is selling in 27 countries which is much more than most other EV startups. Stock price is greatly undervalued right now IMHO when you compare it to Lucid, Rivian, Tesla, etc.
I completely agree. I had a Polestar 2 for three years and loved it. Initially I had a Polestar 3 on order from October 2022, but Polestar delayed it to late 2024 and I needed a car this year, so had to cancel the P3 and I went for a BMW iX. Will defo be looking to return back to Polestar in the future. I also went to GFOS this year and it was great to check out the Polestar stand and cars. Loved the Lotus Eletre as well ⚡️👍🏻
I got the BMW IX also. But my order on Polestar 3 is still there. I can’t wait to upgrade to Polestar. Great car and can’t wait to drive something speciel.
I like the Polestars, but they are very cautious and careful about rolling them out. There is NO dealer anywhere near me, not even in Las Vegas, believe it or not. Dunno when I'll ever see one. Maybe when in CA for the holidays?
I'm 99.9% sure the Polestar 3 comes with lane keep assist with the adaptive cruise control. You don't need the Lidar package for that. My $25k Subaru Crosstrek comes with that as it only needs basic cameras so I'm pretty sure this $120k Polestar 3 comes with basic features that are almost standard in most economy vehicles
Disappointed most reviewers say they love a BIG GLASS SUNROOF - but none ever asks about heat mitigation or why internal covers were not incorporated. Like it is forbidden to ask or something. Not everyone lives in a UK like environment.

SEB who owns 50 percent of Polstar just declared the company's net worth = 0. So what will Polstar owners do? Sue to get their money back? How will they get updates? How will they get any repairs done? How can you get blood from a turnip?
What is this EXC90 you keep mentioning Dave or at least sounded like what you were saying? I've looked it up and Google found no such car, the EX90 or EX30 are real cars so suspect it was just an error.

Cap. Volvo never cut them lose. Volvo gifted there share holders the polestar shares for free. Volvo still owns 18% of polestar. Geely owns polestar and Geely owns Volvo. So it’s the same as before. Geely will never give up Polestar. Even Polestar got over 1 BILION $. From banks so they will never go bankrupt.
Thanks for the walk around and interior Out of Spec! Exterior looks amazing, while the interior is really lacking in design! The center console design is way too large and obnoxious getting in the way of the knees! It prevents easy access to the lower storage. The screen setup is lacking. Its just like you stuck two screens on instead of designing them for the car! The dashboard of the car is ridiculously high, not much of a clear view! The rear storage compartment is good though! The glass roof is also a cool design but does it have a slider than can go over it for practicality? The current Ev6 is a much better and cooler interior design especially for a $20K price difference.

It's really claustrophobic in the rear seat when trying to look out the windows - but the panoramic roof helps keep my anxiety under control. Overall, it's style over the view.
90K for SUV ? Sorry I take Tesla X plaid any day .No car comes close when you take everything in to consideration, the options, software and standard features , price, and charging In electric car selection there is Tesla and than everything else.
Cap. Tesla is a shell and a screen. Polestar don’t want to be compared to Tesla. Tesla is a cheap car either mass production to keep there prices lower. Polestar is for the good and real persons that don’t want to own same cars as the fake broke people.
Just to add. I had camera calibration issue with my Polestar 2, which I realized on this week Monday (=basically most safety system, adaptive cruise, pixel headlights did not work or worked partially). I drove to Bilia (local Volvo 'dealer') on Tuesday and went to my 'own mechanic'. I.e. I do not have to deal with any manager or receptionist or anybody else than with the guy who will actually fix my car. I explained symptoms and we both guessed that it probably is camera related or that being a root cause. He booked time for this week Friday morning. I drove there, we read error codes, reset all of them and checked error codes again. Only camera was still showing error code and he performed camera calibration. Issue was fixed at the end like in 15 min. And while my previous car ( still used by my wife) was Volvo V60, I have had same 'own mechanic' for many years already, so we have know each other for many years and dealing with him is super easy. So summary is that if I have any issues, I can just pop in there, have a chat with Ari (his name) and typically in latest in few days things are fixed. I could also book service via phone or app or via Web, but this personal service is just superior over those other options. And this is not only for me, but same system to my understanding is for all customers. This setup is really good additional bonus to drive Volvo or Polestar. And listening what local Tesla forums tell about Tesla service and what my son is telling, it is like worst nightmare (unless you get ranger to do stuff) compared Volvo/Polestar.
Show me another luxury SUV with this performance, spec and range for less 🤔- there isn’t one! This undercuts the BMW iX, Audi eTron Q8, Mercedes EQE SUV and Tesla Model X by over £20k ! The Lotus Eletre is the nearest competitor (same group), but even that is more expensive.
@@ro8mcn - the X5 40d is slow compared to the EV’s I mentioned, and those do 85+ MPGe. A diesel better for the environment 🤔🤣 Try again ! Also worth adding - the Polestar 3 Performance is £85k, and a similar spec but slower, new X5 40d is over £87k 🤯 Finally : 12-18 month old X5 40d’s are going for £45k-£50k, so they depreciate a lot too.
@@SDK2006b are you mad. The electric car depreciates more than any other car. Audi garages are devising owners that they will need to pay off their pcp plans as the cars do t meet the required value.
It's not overpriced. Polestars aren't cheap. A Polestar engineered Volvo was always $10K plus more than a regular Volvo and that's basically what Polestars are with now a different styling.
550-600 KM up in north Sweden. -10 to -30°. That’s great range. Charging capacity is great in the car. If you give this car better capacity then it has so it’s get the best possible capacity then the only thing you make of that is like 4minuts less charging speed on super fast chargers. Charging at home make no difference. Take a lesson and do better.
Mercedes is the oldest automaker in the world & they’ve always used numbers so I think all the others will be just fine because just about every luxury brand has followed Mercedes’ lead.

Also just for your edification, the ID4 is the compact SUV, the ID3 is the subcompact SUV & the ID7 is the midsize sedan. It’s not that hard to figure out & if you find it difficult then that’s a you problem.
