yeah cops can be quite incompetence at times ... but if they'd be more brutal and persistent, then lot of people would start whining about "police brutalitiy". in eyes of the public, cops can never win .. no matter the outcome, someone will be unhappy and whining and sueing the cops. it's the primitive way that humans live.
It's not a real crime and they should not have started the chase but if you decide to chase with the sheriffs helicopter you better catch who ever it is. All this does is give confusion and confidence to other criminals that you can get away sometimes so may as well try leading to more tax payer dollars lost with more chases.
It cost about $600 dollars per hour, give or take a hundred to fly a police helicopter around. So they wasted about $1200 on the heli alone chasing these kids for a basically a traffic infraction. Add up man hours, gas for ground vehicles ect. and they probably spent a minimum of $5000 on this "chase". It all comes down to ego tripping cops pissed because the kids ignored their commands then feeling disrespected which of course in a cops brain means chase them to the ends of the earth cost to tax payers and danger to the public be damned. Total waste of police resources and tax payers money.
How are they "wasting" tax payers dollars when all these officers were already active on duty, and the helicopter flies on patrol nearly everyday? 🤦♂️

As a runner, yes a runner, I used to have the Walnut Creek, CA PD chasing my with off road motorcycles, and i was on foot...and they never could catch me. They only chased me because they felt I was condescending and insulting to them. many were just too dumb, and didn't meet the height requirements.
I spit my Dr. Pepper on my screen when at 40:00 min/mark, the guy says what the riders did (crimes) to get two (2) helicopters, the CHP’s, and two different county sheriff’s departments to chase them…..wait for it….”Attempting to Overtake, and not yielding”! Can you imagine the fuel costs law enforcement spent to give chase? Two f*cking choppers in the air! My jet costs $1500 in fuel just to take off. Add the human (cops) salaries to the bottom line totaled and the tax payers aka. US/Public and this is a 6 figure chase easy. And I gotta tell you if they’re doing this kind of police work for two kids on four wheelers there must be nothing else going on in these cities and counties or this is a complete failure from the top, all the down the chain of command.

So here is how you do a good run, First map out your escape plan, 2nd is to see how much gas it take to get where you need to go and stash 2 full tanks worth 1 for each quad somewhere to refuel, 3rd stay under a bridge as long as possible to make sure the Heli`s run out of fuel. If you follow these steps you as well will have a good chance to get away from the Tyrants in Blue.

I wouldn't say that much. This pursuit started for a reason, public roads. Often morons on these things stop traffic, ambush cars, etc etc in cities. Unfortunately, those groups have ruined any and all leniency with law enforcement anywhere near a road. Can't blame them there. However, it doesn't take rocket science to take these things to SOME of the places seen in this and ride trouble free. But then again, that takes intelligence...
What have I learned ? Just go to a remote area & sit & wait till they run out of fuel. Looks like it was starting to get dark. News station has taught us a lesson.
