All that swerving, hard stop and goes, intersections, etc and that load of lumber was in it to win it. 😅 At 3:20 news guy made an astounding, prolific, beyond insightful statement... "When somebody is going on the wrong side of the street, the chances for a head-on collision, which could be deadly for somebody, increases exponentially...". Thank God the news team was there to point that out. I will stop driving like that as of RIGHT NOW.

These anchors are so annoying! They throw around so much conjecture and needless speculation, that I had to just mute the audio to be able to finish the pursuit. Then, it seemed like every time they would ask their guest “expert” a question, they would cut him off in the middle of his answer and explanation and start trying to come up with theories about “why the police are doing this” and “this must be why the driver is doing that”. At one point their guest gets done telling them that there is essentially a 0% chance that the police would ram or PIT this guy because the chance of hurting the public is too high, and then the male host cuts in and tell everyone to shut up and watch because there’s a police car behind the suspect and it looks like he’s going to PIT him… Dude… were you even listening? My favorite part what when the male anchor said, “here we go, are we going to see a PIT maneuver here?” and the dumb lady who clearly knows nothing about police pursuits chimes in with, “‘Tactical Ram’ is what he called it.” Lady… it’s the same thing 🙄

The greater danger is to let someone go just because they drove dangerously. Once criminals realize they can get away by being dangerous, every felon with a gun or drugs will take off, when they otherwise might stop. You have to be a fool to stop and get a bunch of charges, if you can just play grand theft auto and get away long enough to hide, or hide your guns, drugs, victim in the car, etc.

PIT maneuvers CAN be dangerous, but other jurisdictions give their officers a LOT of training and they (PIT maneuvers) CAN be performed relatively safely with regard to INNOCENT motorists. Seems that LA needs to learn this, make more use of "the grappler" in high traffic areas, or just not chase? It's a tough call.
