There don't only transport blood there transport other stuff as well it could be a vital machine also surgical instruments if there specialist ones and tissue also urgent samples for testing and transplant organs sometimes chemotherapy medicine plasma platelets

Many years ago, I used to collect bloods and path samples, occasionally I had to pick up / deliver urgent bloods. I think that we had one flashing light and certainly no urgent blood signs. Then the 1 flashing light was taken away ( probably due to miss use - not by me!). someone obviously had a rethink 😉. It certainly was an adrenaline rush when you got the call and yes, speed limits were broken 😉.

I, just, cannot remember the very last time that I actually observed one of these NHS Blood Donation vehicles urgently rushing to a local hospital, on a blue light and siren emergency response call. Up until about the year 2000 I used to, occassionally, see a NHS Blood Donor vehicle rushing to Heath Road hospital, located in Ipswich, with very urgently needed blood supplies.

The blood service had its blue light capability removed some years ago. The physical blue lights were allowed to stay for a while but they’ll be gone soon too. Any using blue lights now are ambulance or police drivers or under escort from the cops.

@@beefy0978 I'd check your research if I were you! NHS Blood and Transplant (previously The blood service) never had anything removed, and still deliver under blue lights and sirens to this day. 👍

@@lukeb4410 same as the ambulance service, but no speed exemption. We use them to make continued progress as most major trauma hospitals are in busy city centres where nothing is moving.

This is NOT a convoy, it is a police escort. A MASSIVE difference. A convoy is many vehicles where an escort is just police making room for vehicles and lead and tailing. The people are not that important, otherwise the road would have been cleared a lot better, if that was someone of importance, then the road would have been closed off.

Those bikes are escorting a convey of 4 cars so saying convey is still accurate and in the middle of the city they can't close all the roads for every movement even for a VVIP they would of had to be important to get this although it could be training I guess

@@bravotgm1944 for show purposes only. legally they can use them if they have blood on board but its a gray area. I know that its extremely rare that those bikes ever do emergency work. Its mostly just transporting samples. For when they do emergency work, they have a car.

The NHS blood service doesn't have bikes. There are blood bike charities that do though, some of which have blues for use in an emergency case

@@TS112Video i contract for nhsbt, they never use bikes for anything other than samples unless its to a hospital down the road. they simply are not good for transporting blood due to the lack of climate control.

Some corrupt peado politician or royalty gets a police escort bullying its way through traffic. Yet a car delivering blood to an ordinary person gets none of that. At least they're getting their priorities right. 🙄
