This is why the game couldn't be remade today. These sort of secrets added nothing progress wise, but added such a bit of creative flair. It felt like the designers put them there for love of the series and just for fun, even if most of the secret vehicles were bad for completing missions. Today you would have maybe the rocket car as a nod to the original game, and an achievement/trophy for finding it, but thats about it.
This brings back so many amazing childhood memories. The scenery, the characters voice lines, even how the cars sound just takes me back to being 5 again. I wish it was still a time like that
When I first played this game I only thought levels 1,2,4 and 5 had hidden cars since they were the only ones out in the open. Eventually I realised the others must have as well. I still remember spending hours upon hours looking for the planet hype 50’s car. Good times.
I remember finding the planet hype car after watching the episode As soon as moleman crashed into the restaurant I was like, wait a minute, booted up the game and there it was
I own this on ps2 still.... ahh the memories when I was 7 and driving in a small RC car asking my parents if Homer can fit in that does that make him santa, yes I believed in Santa when I was 7... stopped a year later
DottiestRiver 69 8 is not that old to believe in Santa, nearly everyone in my class believed it at the time and every time someone mentioned is name I was like "haha I know something that you don't.
look at the rc car when it is bouncing. you will see homer's head coming out of the rc car. It looks like the game shrinks Homer if he goes inside the rc car!
I know it's an old comment but since you compared Homer to Santa Claus, try playing the game on Christmas, Homer is dressed as Santa Claus at the Main Menu.
I bought this game the other month, as it is BC with the 360...then I found out I can't play it because I don't have an official hard-drive, and even with an official one, it only shows half the screen. fml. Going to buy an original xbox to relive my childhood. But in all fairness, I really do hope that a remastered edition of Simpsons H&R will come out, so many early 2000s kids would buy it.
how could I be so blind I played this game for several years and I never realized that the 50s car from Chapter 6 was stuck in the Planet Hype that's the one car I had problems finding
Isn’t there a cheat code to unlock all the secret cars for all the levels once you’ve 100% the game on the PS2. If anyone knows what that code is please reply and let me know
The motorboat, quad bike and Cadillac were my favorite to drive. Wished it was possible to drive them in all levels. The trailer for this game actually showed Homer driving the monster truck in level 1. I also remember a cheat code where the hidden cars turn into a small brick car.
I thought the same thing when I saw that trailer but I looked it up and there's a cheat for it. When you finish the game you can open a separate menu in the phone booth that has all the cars
It never clicked that they actively put secret cars in every level as I found them all...APART FROM THAT PINK PLANET HOLLYWOOD CAR!!! Can’t believe I never knew about that, tempted to dig the game out just so I can get to it!
No I just tested it out on my pc today and even by activating the bonus cars cheat code in the menu screen you can only select the main cars in the game
Okay I’ve ridden and found about 9 out of 10 of these cars, haven’t played the game in years since I completed it. Did not know about the pink car though on Bart’s level.
My rankings from worst to best: 7. Monorail 6. RC Buggy 5. ATV 4. Speed Rocket 3. Obliteration Big Wheel Truck 2. Planet Hype 50's Car 1. Knight Boat What are your rankings guys?
i found the rocked, train, monster truck, the toy car, and the f1 car that you didnt show for some reason, and this was a long time ago where i didnt even have where to loock up those cars
Out of all the garbage games that have been coming out these past few years, WHY HAVENT THEY REMASTERED THIS??? Or make part 2 with all these new episodes and characters
I think in America the government has a department that decides what a healthy breakfast is. It's similar to the food pyramid and "5 a day". So basically it's just Nestlé paying the government to tell you that Nestlé is healthy
