I really love Miami Dade y'all not like other county I think y'all got the highest award for being able to love y'all community. There is no video of Miami Dade police violating someone constructional rights.last video date back like 7 years. The camera footage with even bad
Hey Nick I hope you’re doing well, I’m currently a police officer down in Puerto Rico and I had some questions about joining FHP and moving up there and all of that stuff, if by any chance you can connect me to him and I can get more information from him I’ll be forever grateful brother cause he’ll understand that transitioning from here to FL is a little bit hard especially with absolutely no one in FL to help me out so if there’s any way I can get in contact with him please help me out., keep the content up cause this is the kind of videos that are getting more attention of people wanting to join FHP trust me😂💯
A lot of people use the word without knowing what it means. Getting tricked is NOT entrapment. "They didn't tell me they were a cop", well duh, that'd defeat the purpose of being plain clothed/undercover. If someone was threatened or otherwise coerced into doing something illegal that they wouldn't otherwise do, that's entrapment.
I am currently 75 years old and grew up in Florida. My best friend's dad was a Florida Highway Patrol Captain and the FPH was using unmarked cars at that time. They didn't have the lights on them like they do now but they did have FHP tags and the patrolman were in uniform. I enjoy your podcasts which I have been watching since you were doing them for Miami PD. Keep up the great work.
Bootlicker take. You don't have to do anything wrong to not appreciate the deceptive nature of LEO. We are not talking about some kind of gang task force that's need to be discrete. This is a regular traffic enforcement video and the ONLY reason they are unmarked is to increase revenue for the department. I've never seen a marked unit not be able to catching a speeding car while sitting on the side of the road.
@@Skittlezz45 Yes, that may be how they fund themselves. it's not uncommon for me to speed in some situations. i consider every speeding ticket as a donation.
@@Skittlezz45 oh gee maybe they can't catch the criminals breaking the law, because the criminal sees a marked cruiser and goes "Hm, there's a marked police car. Maybe I shouldn't break the law right now. I'll wait to break the law when I'm not near a marked police car." It's almost like an unmarked police car exists to catch those who choose to break the law when law enforcement aren't around. You chose to break the law, assuming there is no police officer nearby who will see you.
Your character is what you do when no one is watching so when people are spinning around unmarked vehicles they are displaying their character and the officers are just documenting it.
Great topic! I don't think I'll ever race a Mustang in Florida. lol, I love how the FHP has Mustangs, Chargers, and Challengers. Now they need Corvettes and Camaros. 😄
*Patrolling alone, nah. If they roll up next to a civilian and try to line up with them to encourage to break the law, and once they do, the police stop them. Then yes.*
What do you mean exactly? From my understanding from what you're saying is if they stop next to you at a stop light or sign that's challenging you to a race?
@@matthewaddington1353 Entrapment means you’re inciting somebody to commit a crime they wouldn’t have without your intervention. So for example, if a cop asks you where they can get weed, and you get it for them, that’s entrapment. If you see an undercover cop, and don’t realize they’re undercover, and offer them weed, that’s not entrapment. If a cop in unmarked mustang pulls up to a light next you, and you think “Oh! Mustang!” And you start revving to show you want to race, and then take off on green, that’s not entrapment. If the cop pulls up next to you, and he starts revving and you take off to race him, that is entrapment.
I've seen many comments where people claim entrapment because the police aren't obvious. Example: officer dresses up in construction attire and assists speed enforcement from the bucket of a bucket truck. Another example: officer in plain clothes/costume presses the crosswalk button and crosses the street to see if drivers yield. Another example: officer in plain clothes stands at the street corner to observe drivers using their cellphones. None of these are entrapment, but there will always be comments suggesting it is. In reality, it's chronic traffic violators upset that the government employs different tactics to catch them doing what they otherwise do on a daily basis. Something that wasn't fully addressed in the video: the mustangs may be used primarily for speed enforcement and aggressive driving enforcement, but it's not impossible for a trooper to be in a position to "race." As long as the trooper isn't the one initiating, it may not be entrapment. There are plenty of knuckleheads who will pull up next to fast cars and try to race them.
A Tennessee state trooper told me that they're not allowed to sit in the middle of the highway with their lights off in the dark or with their hoods up because they consider that entrapment. That's really not entrapment though is it?
Federally, no, but there could be a state law with a differing definition or more likely it's internal policy based on public image. Depending on who is in charge, some tactics may or may not be allowed. Sometimes it is individual supervisors. I knew one agency where someone complained the officer was parked in the grass facing on-coming traffic. They also restricted officers from crossing grass medians. Another agency restricted their deputies from driving faster than 92 mph which made highway speed enforcement nearly impossible. Some agencies have also forbidden their officers from using unmarked vehicles.
obviously, not entrapment it's just cheap for it to be used for a regular traffic unit patrol in MY OWN Opinion, it's like quick pitching in baseball, not wrong but annoying but I have to respect it.
an unmarked mustang doing the speed limit doesnt make you start going faster because you want to race and show your car is faster ....its not entrapment if you need to be a show off
the best "auto civetta" (literally translated is decoy car, you, in English, use the term undercover) is a vehicle that lends itself to hiding like a coquette. Living in a state where the service car does not follow certain models (even if I associate Alfa Romeo with the Gazelles of the Carabinieri Mobile Unit or the Panthers of the Police Mobile Squad) it is much easier to choose from BMW 320d Series sedans (I repeat sedans because the Touring version is used a lot by the Highway Patrol so it is already in the sights of those who are more attentive) to the best-selling Fiat in circulation. Strange cases of undercover cars: Porsche Cayenne recently seen in Rome (for the escort of politicians not so much for operations) and Subaru Impreza WRX 10 years ago but I think it has now been demolished and I assume it had been seized by someone who liked to race (present on the Tube), sorry to be late on the reply and on video, but i finally catch your channel after lost almost all the channels i subscribed
Man, when I was a kid I was driving from NJ to Miami in my 5.0 at 3am in SC and a SCHP Mustang unmarked gets next to me but a little begind me as if to race. I down shift and smoke his ass then he flips down a Blue Visor Light! I freaked out. He was cool though, I showed him paperwork that I was leaving to USCG Bootcamp within weeks and he let me go and actually showed me his car. I then got a ticket in GA at 4am, haha! I went in to a great career in LE but never wrote anyone for speeding😉
You can't use Google, Alexa or Siri to confirm LAW guidelines....lol There is NO rule that says a cop has to be in a marked patrol car too see you break the law.
I saw a 4 door Volvo station wagon state patrol vehicle in Washington State 20 years ago. My guess is that it was used in hustling drugs and was siezed but the HP and turned into a cruiser
the thing that bothers me about these is why do we have unmarked police cars to begin with? I understand fully undercover ones where you can sit outside say a murderers house without being seen, but what do these do better than a marked cruiser? a marked car slows EVERYONE down, whereas an unmarked only slows down people who know exactly what to look for and speed often enough to know what they look like
It's called omnipresence. Marked patrol vehicles serve only as a temporary deterrent. If someone is speeding and see a marked police car sitting in the median they slow down until after they pass before speeding back up. Knowing that any vehicle on the roadway could end up being a cop tends to make more people chill out and for longer than that clearly visible cop car.
Please correct me if I’m wrong. I believe Florida law allows you to continue to drive safely if a vehicle is pulling you over without clear police insignias. Call 911 and they will guide you to waiting police in clearly marked police vehicles.
My personal opinion is ghost letter or unmarked units should not be patrolling units. Police need public markings. Unmarked units should be used for detectives and the cars should have markings
Everyone knows to be on their best behavior when they see a marked unit. If you always obey the law, you don't need to worry about getting busted by an unmarked car. Unmarked cars are an important tool to keep the peace.
Ford doesn't make a police package Mustang any more. The Explorer is V6-only. The only V8s we have are the Dodge Durango (probably not for much longer as Stellantis is getting out of the V8 game almost entirely), Ford F-150 Responder, Chevy Tahoe PPV and SSV, and Chevy Silverado PPV and SSV.
Like why are you asking a cop. Bring a lawyer to give the perspective. Its clear that the guest has a biased opinion becuase boys in blue stick together and speaking negatively could cause retalliation like getting fired feom his job. No one wants to lose there job right?
Because the unmarked car isn't inducing you to break the law. It's like breaking the law and getting busted by a plainclothes cop that happened to be there. If you don't break the law, you don't have to worry about getting pulled over by an unmarked unit.
Think about it: You like to street race. You see a marked police cruiser, and decide not to speed, as you can clearly see a police car. Later in the day, you decide 'You know what? Fuck it. Let's speed because it's fun, and there's no cops around." You, on your own have decided to speed. Nobody is forcing you to, except yourself. Little did you know, the car to your left is an unmarked police car, and they pull you over. You did not know they were a police officer, and you chose to break the law on your own. It is not entrapment. Now, if they rev their engine as if to say 'Let's race", I would count that as entrapment.
Unmarked patrol cars are for revenue purposes and that’s all. If it’s for public safety it would be very visible, painted and lettered with lights on the roof.
Yea because that random car on the side of the road aren't obvious enough. Like I said earlier people don't do dumb things around marked police cars, 4:34 is proof of that. It's not like their entire fleet is unmarked. They literally have marked cars show up on they're traffic stop as backup.
@@pacificadventures9919 You just made his point. A marked car being visible keeps drivers from driving stupid which means they drive safer. They claim they stop people in the name of safety so why hide and address the problem after the fact instead of being visible and keeping the bad driving from happening. The answer is there is no revenue in not being able to stop people.
@@Havoc_762 no, you are reading it in a way that makes since to you... You will see cars slow down when they see cops , as soon as the cop takes the exit or is out of sight they go right back to doing what they were doing... That is no secret. Having an unmarked car stops these law breakers in their tracks. Traffic enforcement isint meant soley as a deterrent. In your theory it just stops the bad behavior temporarily in a area cops are in... Another example, you are out doing something you aren't supposed to and you see a cop behind you, you immediately look down at your speedometer and go the posted speed limit if not already and constantly check your mirrors to see if they're still there. Sure someone in their right mind will continue to watch their speed the rest of their trip home but not everybody. And that's who they are out to find and stop.
@@pacificadventures9919 You're still proving the point HIGHER VISIBILTY law enforcement presence makes drivers driver correctly..lol Thats the goal according to law enforcement so why hide instead of being SEEN. The answer is still they cant ticket people if they drive correctly..lol its not a hard concept to grasp bud..lol
Obviously, when you see a marked car you'll behave. The purpose of the unmarked car is to make sure you behave when you think no one's watching. Always act as if there's an unmarked car on your tail and you won't have to worry about providing revenue for the state.
Unmarked cars should only be used by task force agents, parole officers, detectives, and executive security details like the U.S. Secret Service. Unmarked cars are a terrible idea because people like myself think it's not a cop but just some person impersonating a peace officer. Unmarked cars should be used for felony stops only. Love your videos, Nick.
You forgot to add that police departments use unmarked cars for police administrators to. Like a police chief using an unmarked car for meetings with the mayor or something similar to that. Also there’s ways of spotting unmarked police cars to. I get that police impersonators that are thing & all that. But in reality if someone wanted to impersonate law enforcement, they can easily buy lights & siren kits off of places like Amazon & have other ways of obtaining pieces of police equipment like the badge for example. And if you’re worried about being pulled over by an unmarked car that you think is a police impersonator, call your local police department/911 or go to your local department if you know where it is.
I disagree. I think if they were truly just doing their job and entrapment had nothing to do with it. They wouldn't be driving around in an unmarked car. They would just be driving around in their normal patrol car
until you understand that they are out looking for aggressive driving, typically when aggressive drivers see a marked car they refrain from doing it until they’re out of sight. the point of policing isn’t to stop it temporarily... You think the clip at 4:34 was from a marked patrol car?
I can see why a police officer would use an unmarked for speed enforcement since there’s the off chance of someone speeding down a roadway & possibly hitting another person or another motorist for example. Or that people a blatantly speeding through residential areas. Along the off chance those police officers using unmarked cars catching people who are doing drag races heavily used roadways.
2:08 Nominating this for the dumbest comment of 2024 award! You are LITERALLY trying to hide it otherwise the cars would say POLICE in big bold letters like, idk, all of the other cruisers!!! Unbelievable.
