Fire and police work together every day, and when one has a serious injury they all work together to save the life of the injured officer or firefighter. Also in this case it would not surprise me to find an officer headed to pick up the wife and another to pick up a kid at school. They both have a very dangerous job and they both deserve the best care available.
I witnessed this in Memphis last weekend but instead of like 5 cops it was probably it was like 30 surrounded the ambulance. every exit was blocked happened so quick. Officer survived thankfully
You know it's a REALLY bad one when... :( But I get a kick out of the armchair QB's who think this is something reserved for cops, VIP's etc. It's not! Stop being so shallow!
Police usually escort ambulances when there is a baby seriously injured or seriously sick like they need immediate medical attention as soon as possible, or some politicians or the person is a VIP or its a police officer
One of my patients got an escort to the ER. Its not that unusual. Just saved for those are very near death and the tools on the ambulance arent up to snuff
Must be someone important, some American ambulance personnel sound like scumbags, they are obviously in with the police and need to be held accountable, they leave people lying on the road dying and don't do anything about it.
O.k-I have not read all the comments. Hate to sound like a drippy faucet but why are they escorting the ambulance? Was it a dignitary, police officer, ???? --- Or just needed to use the police escort due to people who don't have the decency to pull over?
Idk if it’s different in different places but can’t the EMS, Fire department, police department all speed and go through lights in an emergency? Why would an ambulance need an escort? Seems like more of a Hazard with 3 cars speeding down the road then just one
@@lawoftheland5923 100 of kids get ambulance transport, but non of those get police escort and with high crime rates, no wounder, there no cop around when you need one. by the way ambulance do have light and siren. still a wasted taxpayer money.
@@BLACKMONGOOSE13 Kid of a sweeping inaccurate statement. Where I live (USA)....if the patient is a child in cardiac arrest for instance...the ambulance may be escorted with the Police leap-frogging to clear intersections. I saw this first hand...with a child drowning.
@@BLACKMONGOOSE13 I've gotten one and was the second responding for a half-dozen others where the primary got one. Not that odd in the US just depends on why and (probably) local protocols.
I encourage you to revisit that thought when someone you care about is in the back of the ambulance... You're probably the kind of person that doesn't pull over when EMS is behind you rolling on a code!
@@001looker Then you are a very selfish person. I hope for you and/or someone that you care about; when there or your life is on the line and seconds count, that someone like you isn't hindering their response... Seconds can and do count!
