Grandmaster Samurai22 that’s not what he meant. They wanted to know what the person was being transport with. What was wrong. In Ontario it would be a Code 4 not Code 3. Code 3 is a nonemergency call such as some one who has had abdo pain for 4 days. Code 4 is life or limb threatening. We also use CTAS coding at the same time. A Code 4 would be CTAS 1 or 2 and some of the 3s.
That 4 year old drowning victim had about 10 new parents, since everyone in that convoy is treating him as their child!!! >> Sad to say, according to various comments that victim later died...
Those Duramax’s powering those ambulance apparatus’s are no joke! I have the same gen (decommissioned) in my driveway and my ambulance service I worked at used to have one.
@@mcnairbr16387 In cases like this, the Paramedics and EMTs are in the back trying to keep their patient alive!!! Someone else was driving the Ambulance....
For an escort like this, it's generally for one of our own. Whether a firefighter, police or EMS. These are never good. Been through 4 of these escorts. 2 police who died and 2 medics from suicide. It never gets easier.
@@OnLocation1 those are tough to. We had a drowning of a 4 years old and an accidental shooting of a 4 year old. This job is rough. Did the child survive?
In Ontario, for Paramedic Services, lights and sirens is a Code 4. We call a non urgent emergency call a Code 3. Pretty sure police still call it a Code 3 here though. Never good when you see something like that.
Great effort Lakeshore Fire Rescue Services. The red pick-up truck was driven by Lakeshore firefighters en route to the hospital. Firefighters were assisting EMS and required a ride back to the station from the hospital. Sadly, I made that trip before. We were toned out to a call for a man run over by a transport truck. We arrived before EMS. He was conscious and alert. ABC's were all good. Then, he went VSA, but not before grabbing my arm asking me "please don't let me die". What we didn't know was his femoral artery was severed by the truck's tires, and he had a tensor bandage on, which stopped any blood that we would have had on our gloves when we ran our hands up and down his body. EMS required fire to assist en route. I inserted the Oropharyngeal Airway into his throat and performed CPR on the gentleman from the Belle River beer store to Hotel Dieu on Ouellette. Needless to say, I was spent ! Both physically and emotionally. Luckily, I received about 4 phone calls that night from fellow firefighters, letting me know if I needed to talk, they would meet me at the firehall. A brotherhood like no other !! If I may, and I know some will agree, I don't see the need for the pick-up to go Code 4. Only reason is if the EMS required further manpower en route due to a change in the status of the patient. I hope this sheds some sort of light on the harsh reality of what really happens. Peace.
Aaron Michael Reading this one month later, I’m not even sure what I meant either! My only guess is that I misread your comment and thought your opinion was that they didn’t need to go code 4 at all. But I realized you’re only referring to the pick up, sorry! Haha
Aaron Michael Maybe they were carrying family members of the child in the ambulance. That being said, they could have also put the family members in the police cars but oh well. Maybe it was emotional support for the family members, just the shear amount of people helping to attempt to save the child. Also, mybe they didn’t have 4 police cars and the fire pick up was helping to block traffic. I’m sure as you know, it’s called leap-frogging but they usually need 2 leading cars and 2 trailing cars. Another police car maybe could’ve joined the escort in route, but I’m sure while on scene, they didn’t want to waste a second and just used what they had. Especially since one of the comments said the child was technically alive, but in really rough condition. If that is true, you know you have a better than average chance of saving the child so it’s all hands on deck.
Some are like fire men on call incase of fire but how much do they know when a real physics and psychic assistant out there on call when they see you they well tell you to step aside we know him/her providing and assistanting the vestagations they know more about it then others.
Is NYC the NYPD always has their code 3 sirens on its crazy I can’t tell if the situation is that serious or if they want to scare the fuck out of traffic
Razer X we Canadians tend to do that with people, make sure they get there safe, fast, and in excellent condition. If it’s a child we don’t sit around twiddling our thumbs you want a child to get help now better put a self belt on cause he or she is going for a ride
