Solving a real crime involves far too much time, effort, resources and actual "policing". These types of ridiculous cases are easy "wins" for the police or so they think because they involve minimum effort and they're seen to be doing something and protecting the public from harmful social media posts or re-tweets. A person makes social media post which is linked to email, account profile and IP address etc. and can't be contested at all. a police officer's job is not to 'make a criminal's life h3ll', but to assume innocence while STILL detaining and arresting them to be held accountable. The law, it seems is ignored/unknown or dependant on the mood of the officer in charge.
