I fly into a rage during every commercial break when 80% of adverts feature ethnic minorities or mixed race characters when they're a tiny minority of the population. I never had a problem before this so-called positive discrimination. I bloody well do now!!!
Advertising: non whites complain that they aren't represented so Advertising listened and removed all the whites. Interesting thing they are admitting the non W are upset but we think the W won't even notice they are discriminated against because they don't constantly project race onto everything. My husband has been thinking about getting a new job. He applied for two positions and was asked to come to an open day for each organisation. He went to the first open day and was told they are looking for people from the BAME community. Went to the second open day and yes you have guessed right, he was told they were looking for people from the BAME community. He took two days holiday to attend these open days. It is white working class, especially young lads, who are discriminated against. Makes my blood boil.

Not really. If you have an 80%+ majority black or Muslim neighborhood - what good will two white police officers are going to do there?! They won't be able to do their jobs as good as someone with the same background as the people in that area. Communication, de-escalation etc.
Before the guy in the middle even opened his mouth I knew which side of this argument he was on. First of all he was rolling his eyes whilst the others were speaking and then he tried to change the argument by saying ethnic minorities need help, That wasn't what the debate was about. It was about white people not even being given the opportunity to apply for a role despite having years of experience and the fact the guy they tried to give it too wasn't even at the grade the job was at. Then they tried to cover it up. It's blatant discrimination and the guy in the middle tried to ignore that because it was white people that was being affected.

DEI should be scrapped, you should get the job on merit not becsuse of the colour of your skin, your race, your creed or sexuality. Yes we should encourage all people to apply for jobs but it should be the best person, with the best qualification

The gentleman panel member, Jonathan was so unprofessional throughout tonight's show showing just how irritated he was with views which didn't match his own. He was rolling his eyes, puffing out his cheeks and clearly doesn’t like Suzanne. There's always a mixture of views but never seen a guest who struggled to accept other opinions like this chap. He even ignored Patrick completely at one point. Nothing wrong with disagreeing but he needs to grow up a bit.

Happened to my son in law. He passed all the police entry requirements but was finally rejected for not being from an ethnic minority group. This was in Birmingham approx 10 years ago. Been going on a long time.
This is been happening for years but nobody talks about it thank you for bringing this up. Non white people have been punished for years now and it the military it's crazy bad. I don't care who gets the job as long they are the best candidate.
How about the police prioritising dealing with real crimes such as burglaries, thefts and muggings rather than filling DEI quotas or sending people to jail for Facebook messages?

Surly it was a good idea to ensure that the Northern Ireland Police service reflected the society in Northern Ireland ? I heard that half of new Police recruits must be Roman Catholic as they were reluctant to join the Police there due to distrust and discrimination .

I think it fair to say however, that with the old RUC, the chances of getting the job as a police officer were very low indeed if you were catholic, even if you were a combination of Sherlock Holmes, Atticus Finch and Superman.

Job applications should be like ITV’s The Voice with blind auditions. Best qualified person for the job gets the job. A society based on merit where hard work and dedication is rewarded. Race, religion, gender, sexual orientation etc should have no bearing on the decision. This is not only common sense but it complies with good old fashioned moral values. The lunatics are taking over the asylum and even worse we are all allowing them to do it.
