Reward for finding cable cutting suspect = $500 000. Thermal imaging camera from Dealextreme = $5. Finally capturing a picture of the Sasquatch = priceless. Some crimes are worth solving. For everything else, there's the RCMP.

If it's not a disgruntled employee...it would probably be a local that doesn't like the gondola being there.

Sasquatch severed the cable using frequency. Lol you guys are on a wild goose chase if you think a man could do that. That requires a tremendous amount of power and that bigfoot that was caught on camera is massive

Looks like a damn Sasquatch! 🤣🤣🤣 How could this thing be cut and nobody noticed while there's a security guard walking around. I'm assuming cutting that metal cable would have a lot of sparks that you would see at night night. Maybe some kind of cutting torch

I would guess the suspect would have to have a knowledge of welding / cutting torch's and commercial metal fabrication. How else would you cut through the cables? He, by the looks of the thermal image is medium to heavy set, under 5'10" tall, with broad shoulders. Could possibly work in construction or fabrication. There may be also a possible connection to some staff and / or management with the suspect, as this appears to be a possible and very personal vendetta against the StSG company. And (he) may be responsible for both of the insidences.

I mean, it really doesn't take a genius or trained hand to cut something... The fact that they didn't get hurt themselves could have been mere coincidence. I'm pretty sure saws, bolt cutters, blowtorches, etc. are all commonly, if not universally, known to exist. Being tall(5'10" is pretty average), broad shouldered, nor weight hold relation to occupation, nor is any of the knowledge or tools or lack thereof unique to any profession or lifestyle. And I'm not sure where or what you're basing your height estimation on. There's nothing for or against any connection to the company, though it could very well have been the same person both times, a co-conspirator, or a copy cat, so none of that is helpful. Really sounds like you're just speculating, which really isn't useful here... Nobody seems to know anything about this, and even a single thermal image isn't particularly helpful, a snippet of video would have been better if they want help identifying the suspect.

@@TheRealAaronSmith Initiating a public discussion on social media on this matter is a start. Be it speculative or otherwise. It may spark some tips for the police. My comments were suggestions / hypothesis. If you doubt that, go back and read the post again.

@@TheRealAaronSmith I have serious doubts that the image of the cable shown at 1:00 is the actual cable that was cut. To me, it looks like far too clean of a cut for a cable under tension from the weight of a gondola. It's hard to tell without seeing it in person but it looks more like the kind of cut I'd expect if it was on the ground with no tension on it. The entire cable is described as being 6cm thick meaning each of the sub cable is roughly 2cm. Cutting just one of those with regular bolt cutters is quite the effort. Also there are something like 200 strands in that cable. Some of the strands seem to have too sharp of an edge to have been cut with a torch. Estimating each of those strands to be about 3mm thick. If done with any kind of saw, I assume that the tension on the cable would cause the last strand or 2 to snap and fray before the saw passed through them. Unless one strand can support the weight of a gondola. I hypothesize that to avoid this, it would have to be cut at high speed such as the wing of an aircraft. Also some of the strands around the outer perimeters of the sub cables appear to be bevelled which seems odd.

@@InTheNow2020 do you not get that making unfounded claims or suggestions, a "hypothesis" as you call it, when nearly everything you said is effectively wrong, is not going to help the police find the culprit(s)? You have nothing to base any of these "suggestions" on, the only thing you're "sparking" is a waste of time. Thankfully, the odds they would look here, and consider this as any sort of lead is slim to none. If you don't have anything useful to add, sometimes it's better to sit down and listen, and keep your eyes open if you're in the area instead of running your mouth like a garden hose.

@@mikesorensen5228 agreed. It looks more like a sample of the cable in question, or a comparable example. My points about bolt cutters, cutting torches, etc, were only meant to dismiss the "guess" above, mainly in regards to the suggestion that the culprit(s) would need some sort of expertise to complete this. That's not necessarily the case. I would imagine the gondola cable has some sort of braking mechanism, and if so, that could potentially explain why there isn't much, if any sign of fraying or the like. Perhaps the cable was held in place by the brake, and then the brake was released after the cut, meaning only whatever weight the cable had between supporting areas would be applying any sort of force to the cable, almost certainly not enough to shear, fray, or otherwise immediately compromise the integrity of the cable in such a way. The thermal image does appear like the shown suspect has some sort of bag with them, so I do believe it was a hand held tool of some sort, whatever it may have been. I personally lean more towards a cutting disc or saw based on how smooth the cut pictured is, assuming that it is indeed a photo of the specific cable that was cut. That said, there are tools specifically meant for cutting cable cleanly, though I'm not sure there are any small enough to fit in such a bag that are capable of cutting a cable of that gauge. That in particular, would explain the bevels you see on the cable if there is such a cutting tool that fits the requirements to do such a thing. I don't believe an aircraft would have been involved. Hitting a cable like that with an aircraft, a wing in particular, would almost certainly destroy the wing and cause the craft to crash nearly immediately. There's also no suggestion there was noise of an aircraft or similarly large, powerful vehicle nearby. It's a densely wooded area as well, so it would be difficult, if not impossible to make such an approach with an aircraft, and no matter what it would have left some evidence of such an occurence, and unless they're keeping that from public knowledge, which I doubt, we should know about such a thing. We also see the suspect leaving on foot and seemingly unharmed in anyway, which is rather unlikely if he just crashed a plane into a cable and then the ground, trees, etc at any speed capable of keeping a plane in the air. Again, there's no evidence of wreckage or debris from an aircraft. I would be more willing to believe that a laser was used to cut the cable than any sort of aircraft, even helicopter blades would shear from such contact. And yet again, there'd be debris, far more than what could be carried in the bag or likely by a single person.

How come no one has addressed the difference in the thermal images between the… “suspect”🤨and the security guard? The security guard is mostly dark w/ bright highlights around his head. The… “suspect”🤨seems… bright… all oh-vah🤨. Doesn’t that convey something else? Isn’t there an awful lot of information contained in that bright, massive, rounded figure the police are referring to as (wait for it!)- the… “suspect”🤨? Especially when compared to the dark, mousy human security guard, who’s only bright around where his *clothes* are exposed to the elements? The… “suspect”🤨 is totally bright. Everywhere! Sticking out like a man on fiye-yah😲or like someone wearing no clothes at all!😬 WHY on Earth would da Po-po-po-leeese NOT mention such a bizarre and interesting fact? Isn’t this strange? If you ask me, it’s all a little… bit… (you know)… “???”🤨 So when someone finds the big… bright… rounded… strong… fuzzy… “expertly outdoorsy” and… *naked* guy- send him ‘round to my place when you’re done with him, coppers. I’m sure he’ll have plenty of stamina left for a little… “midnight lawnmow” if you catch my drift! … “🤨”
