Police provide update on 'active scene' in Surprise neighborhood

UPDATE: Surprise police originally stated that the child was 6 months old and clarified Monday that the child is 7 months old.
Surprise police are investigating an armed standoff that developed into a massive house fire hours after a 7-month-old was shot several times near Loop 303 and Cactus Road Friday. Police say they originally received a call from a woman around 11:30 a.m. who said she escaped from being held hostage since 3 a.m. after the father of her child broke into her house. The woman also told police that the baby was still inside and could be in danger.

The cognitive dissonance is thick here in this comment section... Something is just not adding up... If the suspect was in the house with the baby that he had just shot and then the cops without tactical gear rushed in to save the baby but the cops did not make contact with the babies father (suspect) where was the suspect? keep in mind this is not the taj mahal this is single story home ie.. not too large anyone in that residence would have heard commotion by either party suspect or officers but no contact then the house mysteriously starts on fire burns to the ground yet the police believe the suspect is still inside the residence??? Ok now the question the news station and the police have conveniently side stepped is where is the suspect? Im making an assumption in saying that the police have no idea and dont want to panic the public... I find it strange that no one is asking the obvious question where is this suspect now and if he is not there then shouldn't the police have issues some sort of alert to the public by now that there is a suspect on the run that had no issue with shooting his own baby? This just doesn't add up at all
