UPS driver shot dead behind the wheel of parked van in Orange County

What’s crazy is that UPS will have a different driver tmrw and life will move on except for his loved ones. Rest in peace BROTHER. I deliver for UPS in Santa Ana. Heavy gang related area. And it happen in Irvine. Wow.

As the daughter of a UPS driver, I feel for the dude's loved ones. I can't imagine waiting for my dad to get home only to be told that he was murdered. Like y'all I'm so sorry that really is terrible and traumatic.

Last monday I was shot at by a crazy psychopath whilst driving though Dallas. Thankfully this trucker is in Texas, & was legally allowed to protect myself from getting shot to death, for no reason I can think of. By the grace of God, & am unscathered!

Poor baby may he rest in peace. My sincere condolences to the family. So horrible to see someone lose his life this way. Glad the suspect is caught. 😢

That's terrible. I always feel sympathy for the delivery drivers out there on the road. They make the world go round and they have to deliver everything each day regardless of the driving conditions.

I walk those streets everyday during my breaks. I saw how they had the streets closed today. I pray it’s not the UPS driver that always wave me by as he makes his afternoon pickups. 🙏🙏🙏

More than likely, this was probably a three way situation. In the vast majority of cases, people don’t randomly go around shooting people for no apparent reason.

The ups driver was targeted by this individual. The driver just happened to be in Irvine at the time ,what does that have to do with Irvine getting bad ? I will tell you, nothing. Rip to the driver .

All American corporations, including UPS ,need to allow their employees their right to self-protection. To deny them their right just because they are on the clock should be a legal and financial and even criminal liability for the corporation. Corporations should not be allowed to deny people their right to protect themselves!!

46yo Rhean Jalipa Fontanoza has been arrested and charged with the murder of Expedito Cuesta De Leon. Apparently they were life long childhood friends and coworkers. Fontanoza had been on disability leave and was scheduled to return to work June 1st but also had been stalking DeLeon. He asked other UPS drivers and accessed a on-site computer to locate where DeLeon was on his route. He drove up and shot him 14 times. He still has not said why.

They said it appears to be a targeted shooting. The suspect knew the driver somehow. So, there is a lot more to this story than is yet known. But it’s not just some random killing like so many people commenting seem to suggest.
