When I was in college in the 90’s I was a journalism major. Once we were trying to find a place to cover a story & couldn’t find it so we saw a police officer & asked him for directions. We figured berths was a small town (but we weren’t from there) he would know but he didn’t have a clue. Then saw a pizza place & suggested we ask them. They got their driver & he was able to lead us directly to where we needed to go. From that point on (before GPS) I always knew go to the pizza place first if you’re lost.
I had a warrant for fines, paid fines. Got pulled over months later, warrant STILL active!!! Fortunately I had the receipt in my wallet. They are in no hurry to drop warrants. Lazy fucks.
That's why they'll ask for I.D. from everyone they so much as say hello to. Gotta check on one of the thousands of warrants they issued then forgot about.
You probably didn't get any instructions about needing to notify other departments. Once you pay the fines, you still have to let the right people/departments know about the payment. They don't do it for you.
When the stupidity of Law Enforcement, & the Criminal Juctice System is so bad, I don't question why people feel the need to protect themselves from both Leo's & the Court System. Sadly, the system is never going to change. Immunity for the entitled & the stupid, armed with badges & guns is so wrong. Yeah, things are getting ugly. Perhaps the system & it's members should be subject to their own B.S. Breakdown the door & arrest the family of a cop or judge, & see what happens. Somebody's leaving in a body bag. 😕
And they handcuffed a little girl. What kind of police officers are these that they fear a little girl? And they wonder why police are becoming despised by so many people. Our local police intercepted the pizza delivery driver to deliver the pizza and make an arrest. The people opened the door expecting the pizza, the police presence was unexpected.

Qualifying immunity makes sense when they are correctly doing their job. The problem is the version of qualified immunity that we have now assume they were correctly doing their job. What should exist is a defense of qualified immunity. In other words there would still be a trial and the officer can argue and show that X, Y, and Z was correctly within their job and the law and then let a jury decide if that is true.
@@meritholdingllc123 the alternative? That wants police accountability? If Trump gets in you don’t get to complain about police having more power. He also wants to INCREASE Civil Asset Forfeiture. Again, as long as you don’t complain and accept that you want that and vote for it, no problems. He said what he plans on doing, which includes huge increases in police funding, removing the little existing accountability they have, removing the DOJ investigation squad Biden created, and massive increases in Civil Asset Forfeiture. Sometimes I'm glad that I live in a country where the police are NOT routinely armed. Indeed there was a lot of hand-wringing even before Tasers were issued to all officers. (Remember folks that Tasers are fatal in plenty enough of cases, such as if used against people under the influence of Amphetamine drugs, or if used against elderly people with mental health issues). Here, only some police carry firearms normally, while other officers have them available to be issued, for those rare occasions required. The local Police are generally seen by most citizens as friendly and the sorta person you'd approach and ask directions from, if you're wandering lost around a city centre's business district. Private Security guards are virtually never armed with guns, and have nothing more than a radio and a large torch/flashlight. Armoured car cash transit vans voluntarily disarmed their staff over 50 years ago. No getaway car beats a radio message and a helicopter, so cash in transit robberies are almost unheard of.

The old …Guilty by association. Friend of mine and another passenger who was just a guy he recognized that worked at a local party store got stopped by our local police for window tint. My friend only picked up the party store clerk because he ran out of gas and was giving him a ride to town as a kind gesture. During the stop the police learned the clerk had a warrant. They searched him and found marijuana. My friend got arrested, along with the clerk for possession. During the arrest the clerk kept telling the police it was his (own) marijuana. This went all the way to trial. Took the jury 5min to find my friend not guilty. They saw right through what they were trying to do - get a conviction. Afterwards the judge scolded the prosecution for bringing this charge/case as far as they did. He stated all charges should have been dropped 13 months ago. This arrest cost my friend his job, unnecessary lawyer fees, and mountains of stress.
Further evidence why qualified immunity needs to be done away with. The prosecutor should have been forced to pa the victim's attorney fees and reimbursement for lost wages.

Once again, the district judge rules that the cops did no wrong so the case is appealed and the appeals court determines the facts of the case don’t support the cops claim. There was a recent case in Nevada where a guy was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstruction because he argued with some cop. He was convicted by the local court and the conviction was overturned on appeal because the defendant was exercising his first amendment right to protest and the arrest was retaliation for invoking his right to speak. Local courts are incapable of policing the police. You see it over and over. And some police take improper advantage of that situation.
This is to dissuade attorneys from taking these types of cases. Their attorney had to lose in district court then appeal it, fight for 5 years for only a 180k settlement on one of the most slam dunk cases. 40% of 180k for 5 years of work the attorney would go broke.
"Knowledge in the possession of the police department is imputed to all officers in that department." This means if one cop knows the suspect is in custody, they all know. Slam dunk win.

This happened to my neighbor based on a phone number. He had added a new line for business purposes. It had formerly belonged to a big drug dealer. There was no checking to see it had only been assigned for a couple of weeks! He is a quiet reclusive man who was washing dishes when they raided his home. A flock of wild geese had decided to winter at his home. When they saw he was under attack they charged the SWAT team. Because of their size they were attacking and pecking at the genital areas! LOL It looked like a Chinese fire drill over there. The commander of the raid was very interested in how he trained the geese to attack and, at first, refused to believe it was in defense of one of their flock members! Luckily, it ended with laughing and apologies. One member of the team had the sense to call and report the incorrect address and was given a different one. They went about half a mile and got the correct people! I enjoy your videos. Thanks.
I once befriended a goose at a park. Didn't feed it or anything. I came to watch other people feeding ducks & geese. After they were out of bread, everyone (humans & animals) started to leave. 1 goose stayed behind picking up the scraps. I looked at it & said something to it. It looked back at me, & from that day on, we were friends. I would visit the park every few days, make this whistle call with my 2 hands, & it would come from the other side of the pond. I was able to pet it, hold it, but it would hiss at anyone else. Eventually had to stop coming to the park once it found its mate.
That is one of the funnier stories here on YT. A swat team raiding a house and a flock of geese protecting the house. I hope none of the geese got hurt, as the SWAT team claiming they had to shoot geese in "self-defense". I hope that did not happen.
None of the officers were held accountable, they were promoted, they conducted a good raid in their minds. Why would it stop happening. Now the cops that did this are in charge training other officers. This was 5 years ago and it just settled.

I really think that the militarization of our police force is a symptom of us military members having nothing to do so they move their training over to the police force which encourages that behavior. This actually happened to me, when I was a kid, though not in such action movie style. My parents had gotten divorced some years prior, and one day the police showed up looking for my dad, at an address he had never lived at, when he was in fact, already in jail. These police were fairly polite, they didn't handcuff anyone, though they did spend an uncomfortable amount of time hanging around after the situation was explained to them.

Here in Atlanta, GA they check, at least probation, don't know about parole. Some counties have the same agency for both probation & parole, while others have separate agencies. They checked everytime I reported a new address. Had 1 come physically inside my apartment. Another time, they came unannounced, so I wasn't there, so they Zoom call me. Ask me to show my room, mailbox address #, outside of the house.
I've had mail show up for people I've never heard of. I've lived in my house for decades, and none of those names has ever been associated with my address, unless it was prior to the previous owner (not likely). One time I mentioned to the mail carrier about one of these, and he stated that they were probably giving out fake addresses for nefarious purposes. This was my thought, too. I mark the mail "not at this address" or some such wording, with the name circled, and put it back out on the mailbox, to let the USPS know it's wrong (they already know, most likely). Lately we've received several pieces of mail for the people over on the next street who have the same house number as ours. Or we receive mail for our next door neighbor. Mail carrier errors are fairly common. Usually nothing serious happens, but if the police are looking for someone who's using your address, that could become a real problem.
What justification is there for the vandalism of the property and the smashing of windows. That's apart from the assault on the inhabitants. They sound utterly incompetent on so many levels especially their communication with the victims of their incompetence.
If you are going to enter a house to execute an arrest warrant, why wouldn't you surveil the house for a few minutes; perhaps doing something crazy like looking into the windows, before using flash bangs or destroying things and breaking in? When you see the family calmly interacting and painting the walls, maybe you could just surround the house and then knock on the door?
