Police have recovered five high value vehicles, which were reported stolen in South Africa.
The Police recovered two Ford Ranger pickups, two Toyota Hilux pickups and one Toyota Quantum minibus, which were found on the Copperbelt and North-Western provinces.
And the police have intercepted 25 Ethiopian nationals, who were illegally transiting Zambia, in a suspected human smuggling syndicate.
This happened during a joint operation undertaken by the Zambia Police, in collaboration with law enforcement wings in regional countries.
Zambia Police Inspector-General, GRAPHEL MUSAMBA has confirmed this, saying the operation was carried out between September 9 and 13, 2024.
Mr. MUSAMBA has explained that the foreign nationals were intercepted in Mpika, Muchinga province, while on a Toyota Hiace minibus and a Mercedes Benz, adding that police had to open fire in order to stop the vehicles.
