I drove OTR for 13 years, I really miss it, but not the traffic and not Chicago. I ran a lot of states 32 to be accurate. I loved driving out west where you could do 75mph. You just could not tell people running 65 mph trucks that they are losing money in 75mph states. I pulled 48s and 53s, boxes mostly, I did pull refer for a year. I met a lot of drivers on the radio and had good times chatting with them over the years. I miss the Western states, Dakotas, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming Pretty much anything West of the Mississippi.

Going from 70 West to the 40/22 access ramp is a cemetary to the left. Mowed grass there for the church when I was a kid. Lived in New Concord. Looks like that little town hasn't changed at all, save for maybe a newer police car in front of the same old station. Popular "bypass" route for trucks, but DOT knew that too. Stopped 'em with regularity 45 years ago. Live in Florida now and haven't seen that for over 15 years.And the ride over the Fort Henry bridge going from West Va. into Ohio just broke my heart. Lot of family there that have since passed on. Nice to take a little ride down memory lane. Good times. Thank you.

Taking a detour to get around one is not illegal. Only driving past an "ALL TRUCKS MUST EXIT" type sign and then not exiting is illegal.

The CB chatter in the background was a nice touch...my thoughts in my comment on the last video about the 359...you already got a cool cab over...bring something with a long hood to the channel whether it be a old school w9 or 359 just for variety....and the detroit would be cool...but how cool would a 359 or w9 with a 3408 cat under the hood...just my thoughts keep up the good work

I drove a 84 Freightliner cabover and nothing worked on the dashboard. I remember holding a flashlight in my mouth to see the speedometer. Well at least the speedometer worked!

Came in late 2000's. Fleets hated the first few years of them too. Still a problematic system on the 14 I drive.

at least they dont have power lines criss crossing the road in this little town, like they do in Pa. was always leary going thru small towns in Pa. with the power lines sagging across the road.

I watched the Banning scales backed out on the road lots of times ,just holler on the CB scales closed and when about 20 or so trucks jump out of line just blend right in they dont even try to go after anyone,its a safty issue leaving trucks backed up on the road,another thing despite belief there still are some length restrictions around like Sacramento California even Walmart has to use day cabs at some stores because high over length fines.

@@johncadiz4007 I drove 42 years and they used to chase you down I had a number of friends get tickets for not stopping even after it was backed out on the road,I also had a friend get rearended on the 91 for stopping they wrote him a ticket for impeding traffic and causing the accident,but after the lawsuit agaisnt Chp and the state of California in the 90s there not so strict anymore but you will get a cop once in a while on a power trip try and be tough.

Don't matter. It's on safe some state let u by pass! I began in 84 CDL didn't come out back then you must have been driving off and on 40 years time to retire guy!

@@johncadiz4007 actually I drove constant until I broke my back in 2010 then I had to take time off and on until my back Sergey made it worse and was forced to retire in 2018
