@ While Poles and Gorals are not exactly the same, it is largely agreed that Gorals are a Polish subgroup. Gorals are also heavily grouped with Poles outside of Poland, particularly in the United States and Canada. This is why the Goral organization in the US is called the Polish Highlanders Alliance rather than the Goral Alliance. So, while calling this song Polish isn't entirely correct, it's not incorrect either. Silesians and Kashubians are also seen as Polish subgroups outside of our general area in Europe. While we see the distinctions, the wider world doesn't. Poles in diaspora are no different. If a Pole, a Goral, a Kashubian, and a Silesian all move to New York, start families, and stay there, then by the third or fourth generation their descendants will all be calling themselves of Polish descent. Getting pissy about it isn't going to change that it's like that. I, for one, wasn't born in Poland and didn't grow up here. In fact, I'm not even a Polish ethnic or even Slavic. I know the differences because I cared enough to do the research, most Americans and Canadians don't. 90% of them see Poland as Russia's little brother.
@ To be honest with you, I don't agree. While I recognize you have differences, further dividing yourselves along these lines will only lead to increased tensions, ethnic nationalism, and open conflict. It'll make Central Europe more like the Balkans. West Slavs need to integrate together more and form a singular, cohesive identity rather than pulling each other apart. The fact that outsiders don't care to see the difference should scare you, not get your nationalism boner going.
There is too much acrobatics in this dance to be close to authentic Polish. Think they are trying to keep up with the acrobatic in Ukrainian folk dance which is traditional for Ukrainians. Question. Why is there so much shouting by men and squealing by women in Polish stage folk dance?
True, here you can watch original dance from 1973: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qxy8uYEL4ow.html, Which is very tought, inflexible and exhausting.
The costume is very native to the Balkans..I smell something fishy here..this is definitely not Polish..definitely traditionally Albanian..or a close enough Polish variation of an Albanian men’s costume 🇦🇱
Lol these are polish costumes, specifically the traditional clothes of Górals, meaning the ethnic group in southern poland. Albanian traditional clothing might look similar but this is definitely a polish costume. Why claim something from another culture just because it looks similar to yours? After all, the countries are not very far from each other so there could’ve happened historical cultural exchanges. But this is not albanian despite that it might look similar. Many cultural clothes look alike from different cultures lol🤣
Thinking that people are lying about what costume they’re wearing is absurd lol. Search up góral traditional clothing and you’ll see that it’s not stolen from albania lol
