great idea on the felt for intricate work, its a great tool but i have similar more powerful type of tools from Dynabrade but are big bucks and i use them for sculpture polishing on solid metals. the Rupes is a great tool overall

the trick to rotary is pressure on the face of the pad and travel speed. you should buy a piece of clear acrylic online, wet sand it and practice i taught some guys way back how to polish using this method and its a good way to learn and perfect technique.

Hey whats up Anthony, the Rupes Nano pads are great for this if you can get the tool body in there which is tough as their pads are larger than the backing plate and tapered down to give some corner cushion, those Nano wand polishers have their backing plates a touch larger than the base of the pads in those kits and they can cause major havoc. When i removed the 3M tape it was evident that high spinning hard backing plate was quite destructive. 3M for the win ha ha. I rarely do gauges in the car usually on the bench I use my Baldor buffer to restore plastic bezels when restoring cars. thanks for watching. AF

for plastic yes, i use Novus often for doing acrylic and other solid plastics, works great and no dust using #2

try Amazon Canada i suppose, Maxshine also makes a similar Nano Polisher kit but it cost 50% more

chromed plastic is usually vacuum metalized on the base plastic and very sensitive, i would never put a machine to that, when we restore clusters from vintage cars i use the mild Novus polish by hand very gently

@@autofanaticcars Thanks for the tip. I was wondering in place of the Novus, (mild product), could I use the Mother's chrome polish, or the Mother's mag and aluminum polish. Or these products are too strong and or abrasive to used on these parts.
