Yes, it's worth it and fun to use! Right tool right job! Nylon brushes are useful in cupholder areas. Nano can be used on other things around the house too.

Oh I can tell you right now how many times I would have used that little DA Nano Kit this last week alone and it would have saved me quite a bit of time. With areas like that I have to do it by hand or get my drill out with the tiny pad I've cut down. I'll for sure have to look into the RUPES.

I couldn't do without this machine. The box and cord went to garbage though. You can work non stop with two batteries, one on the tool, one charging.
@Esotericdetail
@Esotericdetail 3 года назад
You're missing out without the power cord! You get a higher level of performance that stays consistent.

I find the dual action ability to be extremely weak requiring max speed and sometime *less* than the weight of itself on even the flatest of surfaces just to get that spin that does the most amount of cutting/polishing. The rotary, however, has as much power as you'd expect and does a better job of cutting/polishing, but it still has that learning curve. If you're not accustomed to the rotary, using it on the Nano, you'll probably be slinging a lot of product. I have had the unit overheat on me once using a fresh battery after just a couple of passes...I'm not quite sure what the deal was.
@Esotericdetail
@Esotericdetail 3 года назад
They are very sensitive to keeping the pad flat, otherwise it won't spin. There's really no need to use it on high speed, just like other machines. Once you get the hang of it, they're a great machine. But as I stated in the video, this is designed more for polishing, not heavy correction.

Can you compound more if in rotary mode? Darn, I boughr it to do the mirrors/pillars and thight areas in my car. Now I have a 5" and a nano, should I buy the 3"?

@@Neur0bit I'm a detailer weekend warrior as american say. I already invested in 500€ in equipment ( 1x DA polisher, 1x Nano, different pads, compounds and polish, scangrips lights ). Question. I own a 2020 BMW with that "piano black" interior trim, around the gear lever and idrive controller. Surface scratches are present. Can you polish those off? If so, what polish would you recommend, the correct polishing pads? Also, if removed, what would you recommend to to protect the area? A paint sealant or other? Thanks, Paul
@Neur0bit
@Neur0bit 3 года назад
You can totally polish that off. If scratches are minor, you can get away with a microfiber and polish like Jescar's (if doing by hand). If machine polishing, be careful not using high RPMs as plastic cannot dissipate heat and you could burn it, but if you go low you will be fine. Just don't stay on one area too long (same as polishing paint). Cheers!
@nitzer16
@nitzer16 3 года назад
@@Neur0bit Thanks for the reply. How about a protection after the polish?
@AntEloftheHouseofEl
@AntEloftheHouseofEl 3 года назад
I wouldn't generally recommend machine polishing interior plastics. The clear coat is usually very, very thin. Be safe and hand polish. A lot more work but you WILL get the results in the end. Then use a ceramic trim coating. GTechniq make a great one.

@Esotericdetail
@Esotericdetail 3 года назад
Yes you can polish those areas, but unless you're applying paint protection film over it, they'll easily get scratched back up. Waxes, sealants, or coatings won't do you any good in preventing marring on those delicate areas.

Nice machine. Quick question; I see that Esoteric doesn’t carry either the yellow or blue wool pads in the 45mm size. Why is that? Did you test and the wool pads just don’t work will with the Nano? Or something else?
@Esotericdetail
@Esotericdetail 2 года назад
We don't view the Nano as a "heavy correction" tool, and don't use them that way in our shop, either. We use it mostly for medium to light polishing. If we're going for heavy correction in tighter areas, we're typically using the 3" machines.
@AntEloftheHouseofEl
@AntEloftheHouseofEl 3 года назад
Love the hard case but just cannot justify their price when there are many similar machines on the market now for less than half the price. Yes, you might not have the same level of build quality, but for the amount of use it truly gets, it's a no brainer frankly.
@Esotericdetail
@Esotericdetail 3 года назад
You really need to compare apples to apples though when talking about price, as this kit comes with more accessories than anything else.

We don't get caught up in "power" or specs...we focus on performance, usability, attachment availability, etc. In my opinion, when you need something that is capable if a higher level of performance, you should be using a 3" machine.

Same tool. 😔 I'm not a brand fanboy at all but in my honest opinion Flex kind of obsoleted the Nano instantly with the PXE80. It does everything a micro (Nano, etc.) does, as well as a mini (3") polisher, with more than enough power to correct with all the way up to 3" plates. The Nano needs a revision and/or Rupes needs a more powerful cordless option. ✌

The PXE 80 is much bigger than the iBrid Nano. The Nano has a much smaller, slimmer design, which is why it can reach places on cars that the Flex cannot.
