Jerry and Linda, enjoyed todays mailbag Monday. Best thing I heard was the fact that you filter out all political comments. Please never change that. Your videos are a refreshing change from everything we see on tv and hear on the radio.
Pat and I are 55 year "veteran" Floridians. We agree with stay there before... . We spent a couple of days in the Villages looking and asking questions, deciding not to. Be that as it may I still enjoy you both. BTW, our oldest son is career Navy about to complete his 30th year. Thanks to your sons for their service.
I don't watch the news anymore. we are in lockdown in UK, life is hard enough without depressing myself watching the news. I haven't seen my daughter and family for a year apart from 2 hours. your sunshine lifts my spirits thank you xxx
been following you guys for a while. excellent content. eye opening in fact ! always told my wife I would never go to Florida to retire. now that I am getting ready to leave a 33 year career in NYC law enforcement, not having to deal with snow and freezing temps sounds nice. you guys provide a great service to those of us still “ on the fence.” thank you.
Thanks for the updates. It is good to see some nice clean fun on the you tube. You guys are funny and looks like you are having fun during your retirement. Keep up the good work.
I remember you said you both were teachers. I think your experience adds so much to your show. I think experience is the teacher with the highest degree. I love the way you both handle negative comments. Your positivity far outweighs naysayer comments. Blessings to you both and Gizmo. Shadow
The 2 of you are awesome. I've been keeping up with y'all for about a year now. The majority of my family lives in the area. We have property and a few homesteads off of 42.
My hubby and I have been self isolated since March 8, 2020. We live in a Del Webb community in Si California. We love it because there are only a handful of folks who don’t follow the rules, masks are worn and we socially distance. Our numbers are very low. Took a few folks getting sick and die, folks got wise. Stay safe.
San Diegan here. Our numbers are not very low. In fact, it's the complete opposite. California has been ranked #1 in having the most oppressive covid restrictions, and just last week we beat out New York for the #1 spot in death rate. Most restrictive and highest death rate. Because masks and social distancing and fearmongering don't work. Which is why Florida, which is one of the least restrictive states, has a lower death rate than California. And that's even with all the retirees running around.
So glad you're in a good community, it makes all the difference. The vaccines help protect against sever illness, hospitalization and death, AND the masks and distancing help protect from getting the virus. So, stay smart, stay safe, save lives, and we'll all get through this.
You guys are a hoot! Love watching your weekly videos, keeps me connected somewhat to the sunshine and palm trees I miss this time of year...for the moment I’ll enjoy the 4” of snow🙄.
Hello from Ohio . You two are so enjoyable ❤️ Good to know politics are not a thing in the villages . We ( Jerry and Brenda ) can’t wait to see ya when we get there . Peace be with you
"Jerrrrrrry"....how cute................ it's always a pleasure seeing a video from both of you and learning about the Villages..... Thank you.......I agree with you about people wearing mask at all time and this Pandemic will continue.
We were at The Villages 14 days ago doing a lifestyle visits on New Year's week. Masks are there to reduce how far you expel the virus. When you wear a mask you're protecting others from you. When others wear a mask they're protecting you . With that said; we were appalled by the reckless disregard for the safety of others at the three town center events we visited.
@@weareallamericans7358 I agree with you. I am in the midwest and besides hospital beds being full, my parents taught me to be considerate of others. It would really bother me, If I knew I unintentionally infected someone because I didn't want to wear a mask.
I have an 11 year old granddaughter named Claire! She is as lovely as her name sounds. The Villiages will become the most vaccinated city in the country this year. Herd immunity happens as low as 45% immunity and without question at 65%. You're going to get there!
Yes the virus is no joke...I’m a front liner and will get my second vaccine in February...cases are declining slowing here in Ohio🤞🙏🏼...Stay healthy and enjoy the beautiful Florida sunshine ☀️🌞
Thanks for another great Mailbag Monday. I loved the commentary about clothes lines. My mom was a clothes line fan. Always hung laundry out in the summer.
I would agree to doing a lifestyle visit sooner rather than later. We took our first in 2017 and just moved to The Villages in late December of 2020. Especially tough decision around pre-owned and new. Love the videos, Jerry and Linda. Helped answer some of our questions over the last year+.
Happy Monday! Love the thoughtful pillow you received from a viewer. ❤ You guys are adored by your faithful subscribers! Great Q & A today. Can't wait to see some bike adventures when your new wheels arrive. 🚲 Have a fantastic week. Best! ☀️
Visited Total Wine and Mission Bbq in Lady Lake Commons. Great service at both places. Mission BBQ had everyone stand and sing the anthem at 12 noon...they gave us all kinds of samples, since it was our first visit and my husband is a veteran and first responder.
Thanks for sharing all your insights. Linda, in this video, when you sit just right, the painting behind you looks like a crown on your head. All Linda’s need crowns! 😉
Another funny, informative video. Bloopers, opps and hickups are awesome. Who doesn't love real life funny? Leave them in!! Also... Thanks for the shout out guys. All the Best!!
Still laughing at the possible M&B possible names combination!!! Max & Billie - LOL - just possible either person could have that name!!!! Have a great day!
You guys are funny, especially Gizmo thinking “Finally something interesting” when talking about fishing.. Good catch on those fish by the way, Jerrrrrryyy. We enjoyed your video as always..
Great Mailbag Monday ... Even though we have a home in Monarch Grove, we learn something new each episode. Found the Hooligans - Spazmatic band interesting - did not know they were the same even though we have seen both.
I don’t think a move to the villages is for me because of the entirety of the costs, but you guys are such fun to watch. So I’ll keep watching your adventures. You would be great friends and neighbors. 😃
Hey ,I enjoyed this video and I don’t even live there. You guys just always make my day. Linda makes me laugh out loud. Sometimes I wonder what my next condo neighbors think I am up to. And by the way ,my mothers name was Clare. Stay warm up there,it’s really cold here. Love ya
I’ve wondered Jerry & Linda if TV’s has provided an oasis from the current state of affairs our country is experiencing. Peace would be most welcome. I don’t watch the news anymore have disengaged for my mental health. Tks great show, look fwd to those ebikes👍
My husband and I are considering a move to The Villages. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and all the other information from a resident's point of view. Y'all are such a cute couple, and we love your personalities!
Hi, Thank you for another great video. I subscribed some time ago but haven’t watched your videos in a while. So I’m not sure when you changed your camera angle but it sure is nice to see the green trees in your background now. I promise to watch more often. Thank you. Happy belated birthday to Linda!
Good to see you folks are doing well, I haven't been able to watch any in a few months, I lost my Sweetheart on January 23,2021 , but it's good to be able to relax and watch your informative videos, keep it up , thanks .
Solar pencils out very favorably here on Maui where electricity is expensive. There is widespread solar, and even windmills. Hawaii’s goal is 100% alternative energy.
Thanks for keeping politics off your videos! We see enough of that garbage everywhere else! For the people that are thinking if they should come for a visit. We went to The Villages for 7 years before we decided that it wasn't for us. We still moved to Florida to a gated community. We love you guys, so we keep watching. You are very informative and people need that before making the move. Enjoy your sunny day!
I live in California in an area where Covid is really bad, and all the hospital beds are full, so have no idea how long Covid will be around. Have not seen family members in almost a year. Please stay safe everyone! I agree with Jerry that if people would only really take this seriously and stay home for 15 days, it would really help...but there are so many selfish and self absorbed people in our country!
San Diegan here. And it has nothing to do with being selfish and self-absorbed. Most of us know how the data has been manipulated to keep us afraid and compliant. Look at you telling people to stay home for 15 days. That's really what's selfish. If you're afraid, you stay home. The rest of us have lives to live and aren't afraid of a virus that has a 99.98% survivability rate.
@@susangarland6869 Couldn't agree more! Anyone paying attention, knows what's going on with this covid. It's been a tool used to keep the people in line and afraid. I'm surprised at how many ppl were so quick to give up their freedoms for this.
We bought 5 years before we retired. Get your finances, your stuff and your head prepped for the ride of your life!! Gate arms are $250/arm to replace.
I find your videos very interesting even though we have no intention of moving to the Villages. ::) Seems like a nice place to retire to. Thanks for giving an informative opinion on the development--both for and against.
Hubby and I live in the Villages south of the turnpike and love biking in this area. There are also lots of wonderful Rails to Trails bike trails in the region as well.
Hello from a very cold Staten island, NY. Love your videos. You mentioned that a lot of younger people are moving to the villages. I thought this was reserved for people 55+. Could you please clear that up for us ???
I think that they meant younger people closer to 55, rather than 70, 80 or so. Usually, new people moving to the Villages have just retired or are about to, which makes them closer to 55-65. You have to have at least one of you in your household at least 55 to qualify to live in the Villages. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
@@backyardpc1656 for the new homes it may be a little harder if both people are under 55 or if a single person is under 55, but not impossible. For a preowned home, no problem if the buyer(s) are under 55, as long as no one living in the home is under 19.
I love to watch your videos, we are from Michigan, and have a home in St. Petersburg, two of our kids live here so we bought down here, but it sounds like such a great place to live and you guys are so informative, I wish they had a place like the villiages in St. Petersburg, but it's 97% built up! But love to watch you guys, have alot of friends who moved down there and love it!
Thank you so much for filtering politics. You can get all you want everywhere. I guess thats why my hubby and I love your videos!!! Hey Gizmo!!! "Whatsup!" He is so laid back! Love you Gizmo!❤❤❤
Great channel. I have a good friend from NYS who moved to the Villiages from the Atlanta area. He loves it there, although he is quite a way from his boys. We live near Gettysburg, PA. Moving to FLA would take us too far from our kids outside of DC. We do enjoy visiting FLA, but not enough to not see our grandsons.
We are both retired Postal workers...the term is "Lettercarrier" . Gizmo looks like " either get me another hot dog or be quiet so I can nap." LOL Thanks Jerry & Linda
You read my mind...saw the national news with the political parades....up til that point loved The Villages...after that could not even think of moving there...I'm with you don't want to know my neighbors political affiliation...glad your area ok....
I rarely if ever use a dryer. Hanging laundry to dry in the sun saves an immense amount of energy over a year which is good for one’s pocketbook And the environment.🌺
Where I live, it's illegal to feed the alligators. The only exception is when you are fishing. If an alligator wants the fish, you are allowed to let them have it.
Love your channel! My in laws moved to Oak Run north of The Villages last July. My wife just turned 50, I'll turn 50 in a few months. We knew nothing of 55+ communities but I would gladly trade my 40 y.o. millenial neighbors here in the peoples republic of Denver for life with the wonderful people we met in Oak Run. Am definitely targeting The Villages in 5 years, all cash, no mortgage, sign us up! Keep those terrific videos coming -
You 2 are adorable! I'm hooked on your channel. Even tho I'm north Florida born and raised..the heat is why I moved to the NC mountains..but watching your show makes me at least want to visit for now. In the future who knows?😉
Ha ha ha...LifeStyle visit includes golf balls that are "free range" ! (around 4:05) Enjoyed all your answers today...very informative. Thanks for sharing !
I had just jotted a note to email you about fishing in TV when Linda "made up a question" about fishing. Synchronicity or serendipity or something! Have a great week!
What kind of e-bike did you get? Mid mount or hub mount? How many watts is the motor? Since you took your ride on the rental e-bikes, hubby and I have been are looking into them. Would love to see you do more on them.
Hi Jerry and Linda darryl Miller from new Jersey I had stopped watching your video's because of the issues I had seen on the rallies but I wanted to thank you today for your honesty my wife and I really thought the villages were going to be our retirement community we are coming down in June to take a look at on top of the world I really missed looking at your videos thanks.
I live in a gated community & they try to wagon train in behind you @ the unmanned gate. They frequently break the gate. I feel that we will still need to wear mask, socially distance...despite vaccines, until the incidence falls nationwide/ worldwide. Most epidemiologist estimate late fall or end of 2021. It requires everyone’s cooperation. If this was a war you could do it. Perseverance. My husband rinsed his hands in a Florida lake, after catching a fish & a large, unseen, gator popped up inches from him. Jeanne (retired RN)
You guys are great I love your videos. PLEASE be careful with the COVID. We have two good friends that live in Spanish Springs that got the virus. A moderate case with four days in the hospital. They are home and doing better, but still on oxygen The doctor said recovery will take three to six months. They are in there sixties and were in good health. They have no idea how they got the virus. I do agree with you that this virus is going to be around a long time even with the vaccines. We all have to enjoy our life, but we have to be very careful. The doctor told them forty percent of the people over sixty that get the virus will need to hospitalized compared to four percent of people in there forties.
I live in Arizona, my wife doesn't want solar panels since they are ugly, also our house is all electric except for the Hot Water heater and the furnace. I have 36 ft inground pool in the back yard that runs six hours a day. I'm on a budget plan and pay $160 a month on a flat rate, which includes the 24/7 four months where the temperatures are over 100 degrees. Our juice is cheap since it comes from the Palo Verde Nuclear plant about 30 miles away.
I just thought you might get a kick from my comment. I have no intention of ever moving to The Villages, I just watch you for good clean entertainment!
Jerry and Linda do a great job selling the Villages and are very genuine. The turn off for me would be the intense political nature at the Villages with all the publicity in the media about how the conservative members of the Villages drove around in golf carts arguing with the more Democratic liberal members of the Villages. Who needs that? Still, Jerry and Linda are very nice people and do a great job with their show. Keep up the good work!
I discussed this with my friend who has lived in The Villages for 8 years. She also says the political intensity of The Villages is overblown. According to her, there are a small number of people who are very political. Their activism/visibility became more magnified because of the election in November. Many Villagers keep their political views private. Those are strictly her observations.
