A Polk Audio speaker review in a really big 670 sqft bi level seating home theater. Do we pay too much for speakers? I say yes we do! Take a look at this home theater with speakers from Polk Audio for less than $1,200. Big sound, beauty and quality.

I use the S35 for all my main left and right just like you... why? Because I watched your video and loved what you did. Yep, I copy cat and my gawd... my sound is awesome! My receiver is Costco, AVR S760H. I found1 CSI A4 in Cherry Red Wood Grain at Good Will for 19 bucks. I am a lucky camper. I also re-did the wood with polyurethane and it shines like a rich man's speaker.

Very cool and very rational attitude in your choices, there really is no need to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to have a good HT, to spend a good time with the family. Well done!

Daniel thanks for the comment. It just goes to show that you can get really good quality on a budget... You are right! I dare anyone to come into my room and tell me it doesn't blow them away sound wise.

I am happy you posted this and you are very satisfied with your Polk speakers, I have Klipsch in one room and Polk audio in the other and the Polk's sound much better, the Klipsch sound too high for me and I have to adjusting the bass on everything I play.

I have a psw 505 12" sub and a 303 8" sub complimenting my 4x RTi A9's in my bedroom and ive been debating swapping the 303 for the psw-125. Just to have a pair of 12s instead of a 12 and an 8. Plus i really like bass in music and movies so why not

I have the 35s for center, thinking of two more for left and right like you have. They sound great and mount to the wall! Bookshelf need stands and towers take up floor space , too. But I need another subwoofer first. Hope they still make them when I get to buy them. And best thing Polk did was make them 8 ohm, a lot of their stuff was 6ohm yrs ago. 8 ohm makes me feel safe, don't like killing amps or blowing tweeters.

I agree. i dont think you can go wrong with the s35s for center or Right and left. They are bright but ultra clear and nice mid tones. I am very happy with them and they take all the power you want to give them and zero distortion.

FR8ZILLA PRODUCTIONS I had Polk Moniter 10's in early 90's. Had seperaters 100 watt per channel power amp that had no problem driving two Carver 15 inch subs and two 3 way Carver speakers 12 inch woofers later on. Kept blowing tweeters so this was a leap of faith. No problem so far...

I have the A6 center, A9 fronts, A7's rears, A3's back rears, and 4 x RC80i ceiling atmos speakers. My center is powered off a 2125 parasound, and my a9's are powered off a 2250 parasound. Rest of speakers powered off Marantz SR8012 at 140wpc. Sub is an 18" JTR Captivator RS1 at 2400 watts rms... I can't imagine better quality sound than what I have despite many speakers being significantly more expensive. Given the amount of speakers that are now required to actually have a dolby atmos setup, you'd really have to be a millionaire if you required all your speakers to be of the highest grade.

Awesome video! I love your setup - beautiful room. If you decide to change out the sub, I highly recommend looking at Polk's HTS subs - they're a step up in sound and performance over the PSW subs. I have two HTS12s and can tell you that they're very good subs. I have some sound demos of them on my channel.

Love that room with the bunk beds🤗nice set up . You got good room acustics its why the small speaker set up sounds so powerful. But yes for better bass dispersion not for more bass, cause when you bring in the second sub you going to have to set the gains lower on both subs. The idea of two subs is to alleviate the one sub from been so crank up trying to do all the work by itself, when you add a second ideal next to the other you create better bass performance stage and better seat to seat coverage. If you place 2 sub in the back facing the one in the front one of the subs has to be set out of phase from the other to avoid bass cancelation. You normaly do this in the back of the sub controls there is a switch that says phase 0- 160. Experiment with this using a movie with very low bass. Have someone seat in the room while you flip this switch on ethier of the subs and see if bass increses or decreses. Leave switch accordingly. Good luck. Beautiful media room. Nice surround setup. Nice led lighting. 😉

Modern technology is amazing, especially the bang for the buck. I recently replaced my 23 year old Polk surround system with: S35 center, S50 towers, HTS12 subwoofer and S10 surround speakers. With all the black Friday deals, think I spend $1,100. Am running it all through a Yamaha RX-V385 70 watt RMS receiver. I'm still amazed at how good it sounds! I doubt my neighbors will agree with me, though.

modern technology is amazing. I come from the day and age of HUGE component systems for the car and for the home. The 80s and 90s everything was LOUD and Huge. I am so excited that i can get big sound and everything is basically hidden in my walls and out of sight. Makes having kids over easier, safer and my wife HATES the way all the big speakers look all over the floor. Being a guy I wouldnt mind that but I was happy to appease everyone with this room.

Even though it sounds good with only one sub, I would go with 2 , there "is" a difference it virtually eliminates any dead zones and gives you that in your face bass , I was running one for the longest time . trust me 2 is better ... =)

i wish i got paid. i purchased these out of necessity due to limited funds. i think #polk just does a really good job at all price points. Trust me, i had 4 different installers tell me the room was too big and it would be very underwhelming. He was shocked and so was i. it’s been 5 years and we have not upgraded anything other than the sub… ( Polk as well ) Its the best bang for the buck. No bad comments because people realize that not everyone can afford 10k speakers
