Polperro is the most special beautiful place. We go every August with our dog Percy. Xx The costal paths are amazing, and for 2 week we are there it's paradise x
It was lovely to tour Polperro on a hot sunny day, as someone who is very fortunate to live in Cornwall we usually visit places in the winter when it’s quieter and easier to park.
My wife and I went to Polperro on Monday the 16th July when the weather was just like your beautiful pictures, we had lunch outside the Blue Peter Inn, their fish and chips were delicious just like everybody’s. A memorable day at the start of our perfect week staying in West Looe. Thank you for super reminder!
Brilliant video, i was there just yesterday, got some great shots with the drone, been visiting here since i was a young boy its an amazing place. The blue Peter in is a must 👌👍
Just came across these on my mobile. Wow how fab are these to see! It was over 40 years ago since I was there. It is lovely to all the lovely villages and places in England and now I will be looking to watch many more of these visits by the camera! Thank you.
Have visited a few times and love this part of the country. We visit mostly in the winter. Love the crashing waves and not too May tourists, love your videos xx 14:50
what gorgeous villages UK has, especially the last few ive watched in Cornwall. i love all the narrow laneways with the really old looking buildings each side. We have "nothing" like this in Australia.. not old enough.. lol id love to visit these places one day. I must admit ive not heard of most of them before, so im super glad you are showing us what they are like. big thank you.
Hi haven't visited Cornwall for many years now but always used to visit Polperro and Looe when we did. Polperro was always a favourite for its pasties and Looe its cream teas! My favourite place to visit was the Eden Project ahd also loved St Ives and Padstow. Thank you for the memories.
From Holland we got to England. Someone said we had to see Polperro. Amazing, what a wonderful town. We were in the Blue Peter Inn. A nice walk on the cliffs as well...
Hi Gimbal, lovely video, thanks,we've just returned from a short visit to Falmouth,we had a lovely boat trip on the Fal river up to Trelissick whilst there and a visit to Truro,a great place with a lovely cathedral, but our time was short so did'nt get to all the places I wanted to visit, maybe next year.Polperro is absolutely stunning and Cornwall is beautiful Keep walking for us 😎😎
This is such a lovely vilage!! It looks much the same as when my buddies and I walked the streets in 2012. We were representing the Royal Ascot Chapter of the Daughters of the British Empire in the USA. It was such fun. Sorry to say I am the only one left of our fun group that enjoyed the UK.
I am blessed to be living in Cornwall and the visitors are allways welcome to our beautiful county, but one thing that annoys us locals is that people carry their food to the beach in a bag but leave rubbish behind. Please take it back with you in the bag that you brought it in, also spitting is regarded as disgusting and germ spreading. Dog mess on our dog friendly beaches need to be picked up for the sake of young children and people playing on the sand. I'm not here to moan but please respect our beautiful Cornwall and what it has to offer because if you lived here, I'm sure you all would feel the same. I live in a small fishing village the same as polperro and it is a pleasure to see our visitors pass by with smiles on their faces but it is the tiny minority that spoil it and annoys the local people.
Lucky you most local Cornish kids can’t afford to rent let alone buy in the villages and towns that they were born and bred so you are very, very lucky me ansome
What a fabulous place it still is. I went there 53 years ago and it has always been in my mind to go back one day. It was much less touristy in those days but now like everywhere has become swamped with tourists. This would not put me off going back again though. It has everything going for it as a place to visit. Thanks for the upload it has brought back memories.
There are loads of day trippers, but by about 5pm they tend to clear out leaving the place much more peaceful for those who are staying locally to enjoy.
Most of Cornwall is the same unfortunately I am a bit of a hypocrite because I have visited pretty much every year since 1993 but it has gotten very touristy in the last 10 years or so. I tend to go in April/May and September you can usually be lucky with the weather and it is much quieter
Coast path from Talland bay to Polperro Rounding the corner and the view of the village below was breathtaking. Since my walk a landslide has apparently caused a detour. This was a walk in 2006 I'll never forget greetings from Cape Town
Love your videos. Very well made. My wife and I love Cornwall and Polperro, but next we suggest you should try St Mawes and on down to the Lizard! So many beautiful places to choose from.
Excellent video. We were staying in Willy Wilcox cottage, the one above the cave on the harbour wall, when you filmed!! You even filmed our parked car behind the Ship Inn. Wonderful village, so welcoming. My youngest daughter swam most mornings with the Maids of Polperro. Keep up the good work with your hi def videos.
Thank you Gimbal for filming Polperro so beautifully it is one of my favourite places. I stayed a few times in the big grey house on the second row above the harbour We had fantastic views of the Quay and beach I think you should buy that one then you really will have a massive climb up Talland Hill. I am now going to watch your video of Looe :]
Been to this village maybe 20 times over the last 40 years, absolutely love it as do our now grown up children. There's something about it that you can simply shut yourself off from the world and completely chill out. Fantastic places to eat, love the Blue Peter, has to be one of the best pubs in the world. When the sea is calm take the half hour boat trip along the coast, walk the coastal paths with breathtaking views then have a wonderful cream tea on your return. We must have stayed in a least 10 of the cottages that overlook the harbour itself, lovely to wake up to in the morning watching harbour life. If you've never been try and visit this wonderful place, you'll be hooked for life.
Hi i visited Loe and Polpero with my parents when I was young, the only place I recognised in Polpero was the Buccaneer Pub, that rang a bell with me, although my parents didn't drink. You didn't show the house covered in shells, maybe its not there anymore, it was a viewing point with visitors.
Thanks, that brought back some memories as we lived in Polperro in the 1980s. I played darts for the Blue Peter and my wife played for the Three Pilchards. We much preferred the place in Winter. We are lucky to now live close to Staithes, which is like the Yorkshire version of Polperro.
Another charming, beautiful spot. You're good at finding hidden treasures. Well I guess they are pretty well known, but unfortunately I never had the chance to visit the Cornwall area whilst living in South Yorkshire, and now I could kick myself for not! I loved the cottages at the beginning with window boxes flowing with different arrays of flowers. I lived in a cottage and I always had lovely window boxes too. Something you don't see much typically in England. I can't get enough of the narrow windy streets and you never know what you may find behind a back alley or nook. I would've been so tempted to stick my tired toes when arriving at the beach! Gazing far out in the sea, the beautiful sapphire blue glistening below the massive blue sky. Sold! :)
What beautiful and picturesque villages and communities. Not to mention the awesome harbors. I am not a professional photographer, but a serious enthusiast and for me these places would be ideal to capture many wonderful images. Many thanks for the tours and narratives. God Bless, Tony :)
Visited some years ago & loved it. It was a lot quieter on our visit & it looks as if there are more places for tourists to eat en route from the car park now. Thanks for making it possible to visit again, albeit not in person. Must try to include it next year en route to our stay near Helston.
Good video Gimbal! I've only been to the west Country for football by coach so I didn't get to explore,I've been to Exeter and Plymouth. I did go to Minehead once back in 2007 for holiday really nice there.
Nice video which brought back memories of my visit to that lovely village. Conditions were very different with a storm and high tide. Huge waves crashing over the rocks outside the harbour were an awesome show of nature's power.
I've never been to the South Coast except when I was young to get a ferry to Zeebrugge, I live in Yorkshire so tend to visit east and west coast instead but would love to visit down south, good video, thanks 😁👍
My family and I spent very many holidays in Polperro and have walked all over the village. It's our very favourite English village. We first had holidays there many years ago, before, it was partly spoiled by outsiders that started to move in. At the time that we first travelled there most of the shops were still run and owned by local cornish people and Polperro still had a sizeable fishing trade. The smuggler's museum was actually under a cottage "Toms Cot" that we stayed in. On the cliffs, there was a natural swimming pool where the water would be changed every day by the sea when the tide went in and out. Every Sunday a fisherman's Village Choir sang every Sunday afternoon next to the harbour. We have stayed in Smugglers Cottage, Smugglers House and Toms Cot. Polperro is a wonderland for children. My favourite treats are cornish ice cream, and homemade fudge and never leave before having a cornish pasty.
Polerro is my favourite place in the UK and no matter where I am in the World I never forget it, I have been going to Polerro since I was 17ys old, it's gotten a bit crowded over the years but still manages to retain its charm, I just wish there were no cars and the Polerro fudge shop was still trading I sent fudge to my friends all over the world. A walk up Talland Hill will judge how healthy you really are! I'm 65ys old now, and I hope to make a few more visits before the inevitable!
Thank you for sharing your video Polperro ive been coming to Downderry for about 5 years now and never been to this beautiful village im due to come with my husband in october and definitely be coming here. Thank you for showing us around this stunning village.
POLPERRO is a magical place and is so special to me ... You got me thinking about a summer visit now lol You captured everything perfectly and the weather was so nice ...thanks for posting
Superb as always. We have had to miss our hols down here for the past 2 years - so these provide a wonderful reminder- many thanks. Not sure if its possible or practical but is there any chance you could date when you filmed in each video. Just had an interesting chat with family members who have not long come back from Charlestown and couldn't decide if it was filmed before or just after they went
I have loved this walk the sunshine there are narrow streets it seem very popular there’s quite a lot of shops it looks a beautiful place have you been to Cockington in Devon it’s a lovely village you can go up to big house there are shops at the back there is a lovely little church ou can go in a horse and carige I am enjoying the walk
Stayed for three nights in August 2021 and really enjoyed the place. Had meals at the Ship, Nelson and the Blue Peter which were all good. Walked to Looe and caught the bus back. Great video. Thanks.
Lovely village. Too bad the tide is out. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. Beautiful day for getting about. Hope you had your ice cream. Thanks
Myself and my late wife visited Polperro about 50yrs ago before it became popular. We were able to park in the village itself at the time.We had a chat with the film actress Rita Tushingham, who starred in the film ‘A Taste Of Honey.’She lived in a house up on the hillside at the time.Unfortunately,in my own opinion,Polperro has lost the typical Cornish atmosphere with the tourist boom.Love watching your videos by the way 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great vlog. This is my armchair holiday as we can't travel from New Zealand. Would love to see Salcombe and Sidmouth if you are looking for somewhere to go? Cheers 🇳🇿👍
Lovely video. Would love to see West Looe again if you're going there. Looks like I missed out on your trip to Mevagissey so that's where I'm headed now.
I m now 74 years old. My parents used to take us on holiday every august over 60 years ago. We stayed in a caravan on Looe at a caravan site called Great Tree. I absolutely loved those holidays. I loved going to Polperro. I remember there used to be a shop that sold Cornish violets. Perfumes and toiletries. You could smell the shop well before you got there. I can still remember the smell. I would love to go back but my husband says it’s too far to travel. Do you know if the shop is still there? Love your video. Love and Light.
Outstanding! You are the best tour guide and photographer. Next time I visit(I’m from the US) I’ll add Polperro to our itinerary. I’ve seen 3 beautiful little fishing towns(Robin Hood’s Bay, Clovelly, and another((can’t remember name)) in W. Sussex(the little harbor would fill with water where cars were parked behind a tea room - sorry I forgot the name). Anyway, you have a masterful eye for filming. Thank you for sharing your journeys with us!
this is great! I definitely would like to live in a place like that)) so many people though! I thought it's half abandoned, are those all tourists? Thank you very much for the video!
I’ve just stumbled across your video of Polperro, I’m very happy I did! Such a gorgeous, little village, harbour & beach. I can honestly say I had never heard of Polperro. I will be visiting this year though!! Can you recommend any places to stay please? Thank you for a wonderful walk around Polperro 👍
Thanks so much It's such a lovely beautiful place any time of year I haven't stayed there though - I just drove in for the day You should definitely visit - it's beautiful
ive been to Cornwall a while back, dont ask me what part , I cant remember. I luv your walks they are interesting and I luv my history lesson. enjoy the rest of your day.
Yes 👍,Fowey next Please, love Cornwall but haven’t been for years,favourite-place the Lizard could spend hours watching them turn the granite, still have eggs from there somewhere in the house but haven’t seen them in a very long time, will have to seek them out🤔👍🌈.
Ahh yes, perfect day. Gorgeous place. Nice one. The only issue for me with videos of this clarity, is that on my large screen (77 inch), every largish camera movement borders on the threshold of triggering motion sickness ! Not much that can be done about that for the style of filming though when viewed at this size. (upping to filming at 60fps might help a bit). All that would be needed next to bump up the level of immersive nature of these would be to record in surround sound !
