Polygoons: The Instagram Webcomic That Vanished 

after working on that archive for so long im THRILLED to see people remembering polygoons, it was a huge part of my life. i used to make fanmade mspaint comics and the art is subjective arc is actually based on one of mine cause i remembering him dming me asking to use the idea! Fantastic video i was really impressed with the editing, awesome!

Polygoons came at a perfect timing, when everyone was experimenting with big, cartoony projects like BFB, Brain Dump and Storytime Animators.

was looking around the old wiki and noticed it said the reason square guy and triangle man ended up in space was to celebrate the 50th page, until they found out they were stuck there. it also said it was the shortest arc, so ultimately i don’t think we’re missing out on too much important story elements very good video by the way, i’m pretty sure i never heard of this webcomic before but i find the history very interesting

Polygoons was (and still is) a very important webcomic to me. Its funny that this video comes out now, as I’m just about to leave highschool and I started reading the comic going into middle school. I was obsessed with this comic growing up, and I considered myself to be an avid fan. I was a moderator on the polygoons amino, it was practically all I would draw and talk about, and I even own (and still wear) one of the limited time halloween shirts. Even at the start of this year, i redrew my first ever polygoons post. It means so much to me that people still care about this comic, as it and the people I have met through it have shaped me immensely. I vaguely know why he deleted the account (someone I knew was in contact with him and got the reason, you can see the post on the amino). I also mostly remember how the big reboot’s story was going to be like- Though not all the details. It involved a character with a ‘6’ for a head who was going to be like the ‘final villain’. You can see some artwork for him left in the archives- I’m sure somebody else who was in the group chat remembers more of the story than I do. Anyways, rant aside- This was a great video. Even your interpretation of spacegoons was on point with what little we had of the comic, and it’s all tied nicely together with editing. Thank you for making this video :]

I didn't know about polygoons before this video, but if i knew about this in 2018 i would've adored it Hope the video leads to finding more of the lost pages!

i do know why he left and got rid of his account, i remember back when it first happened i asked a friend of his why they left, and they told me it was because making the comics really didn't make him happy and that it was dragging himself down and so he had to do a lot of reflecting to decide that the fame was not suited for him

Every so often, I think about this comic and wonder what happened to it. Polygoons was THE SHIT, and I remember following it while it was still going. I miss it so much.

When the world needed him most

Polygoons was very important to me in my early teen years. I actually knew the creator as a person. I dont know how he is now but i did know he was doing a lot better after he disappeared. But, his comic really did impact me. I’m glad to see a video of someone talking about it, brings back a lot of memories.

This comic was a big part of my internet community back in the day, I even had a fan account at one point, it was really fun but I feel bad that it was ended so suddenly and I hope the creator is doing good

I can’t believe the guy I subscribed to for a silly PvZ challenge uploaded a video about Polygoons, I was pretty deep in the fanbase when it was coming out, I’ve tried a couple times a few years back to find out what happened, good to know there are people out there still archiving. Maybe it’s rose tinted glasses but that fanbase was so fun, they managed to tread the line between having a semi ironic but still completely genuine love for the comics. Still have some Instagram accounts that I follow from those days though. I used to think all the Flexagon stuff was so funny. Great video, kinda nostalgic seeing some of these comics. Keep it up legend

Because of you, I’m hyper fixating on a comic I never read or will get to read in it’s entirety. Legit earlier today it was PVZ. I have never switched just like that before. I can’t even find any fan content anymore. Barely a day and I’ve seen everything there is to see. I really hope that the rest of the comic gets found so I can see everything. This is genuinely going to haunt me, it’s already 2 am. I’m losing sleep over this.

i was in the fandom when the comic was blowing up after the dave and percy arc (iirc) and honestly is such a big part of my life and it quite impacted me! i still have some old drawings of the characters and even my own oc, i totally miss them and i am glad thats its now getting recognition once more!!!

Holy crap! You know, I actually made some fan art for Polygoons on insta years ago and remember them liking it. I was so happy when they like it! I thought I made it to the big leagues lol. Sometimes, I remember about Polygoons and im like, "Holy moly! Wait I remember this guy. I wonder..." *starts searching for answers* Its crazy to see you post something about Polygoons and this was really enjoyable to watch. It really takes me back when I saw them on insta for the first time. Im glad people still remember them. They had a simple style and im all about that! I hope they're doing good. Who knows, they might come back. Great video by the way! It made me happy watching it :D

Thanks for making this video! This was my introduction to polygoons. This inspired me to make a kinda alternate universe series of polygoons comics! Still need to begin tho.

I’ve rewatched this video again, and I must say it hits different now that I’m working on a comic myself as well! (I too am planning to try to adapt it as a full on animated series like Helluva Boss, but that’s besides the matter!) I like your take on Polygoons! Heck, I wished I was more active on social media in 2015! I could’ve seen more from it lol

Im unsure if this has anything to do with this, but the green alien guy from the 100 followers panel reminds me of a deviant art user who has a similar artstyle and could be the guy who made polygoons, as their oc alien guy is very similar in coloration to the alien from the aforementioned panel. I believe they had galactic in their username, but there is no solid proof that this is true, I just wanted to give my two cents on this topic.
