Beautiful necklace. I bought a stainless steel soap from Amazon (I got 2 for under $5) and it is by far the best burnishing tool I have ever found.

I couldn't get very much paper off, after baking, and they seemed dull. I baked at 275 for an hour. I don't know why this happened?
@craftingbybb
@craftingbybb Год назад
You have to put in water and to need to rub a bit, it should be smooth,
@craftyfashiongirl
@craftyfashiongirl Год назад
@@craftingbybb Yes, that is what I did. I think I got it off, but it still looks dull. One design even looks like the Red turned the White Pink.

The napkin doesn't burn in the oven?

no, I cover with wax paper

I can’t get the color from the napkin to transfer to the clay, even after baking and putting in water. They come out blank.
@craftingbybb
@craftingbybb 2 года назад
You have to rub the outer paper off once baked

Try wiping softly with some cotton dampened acetone after applying the napkin. It helps to transfer the image

I usually bake my clay at 230 degrees for 15 minutes. Why do you bake at 270 for an hour won't I burn my clay?
@SugarSnapz
@SugarSnapz 2 года назад
230 for 15 is entirely too low unfortunately. It will cause your pieces to eventually break. Normally pros bake with a tile which is why it's 1 hour to allow the tile to heat up. But you should be baking clay for atleast 45 mins min. For durability.

Thank you for sharing this. I watched another video where acetone free nail polish remover was rubbed on when burnishing. I have those same napkins and want to put the writing on. I’m going to print it off on the mirror image setting and use modge podge to glue it on baked clay. That way the writing will be the right way up. It’s a similar process for removing it, using wet fingers you can gently rub off the paper backing. 🫶

@@Kementiri Someone who has set up, taken the time to video, edit and upload all for our benefit! To do a workshop in this would cost me, at the very least $40, here in Australia, and yet we have the benefit of getting it FREE, thanks to the effort of this artisan. I personally think the process was shown and explained very well, however if you don't understand, perhaps take your time and read through the comments, where others have politely asked questions and have been graciously answered.

I bake all my pieces for at least an hour. Most of us do because the longer it bakes the stronger it gets.😊❤
